      Yeah it's surprising there are gaps. Though I've tried sealing them, and it actually makes it perform worse. I suspect the gaps actually help bring more air into the tunnel

      @@JamiesBrickJams now that I think of it, yes. As it pushes are, the next prop in front pulls in air from the gap. That actually might be a benefit than a negative. I see how it would work better with gaps than without.

    • @JamiesBrickJams
      @JamiesBrickJams  2 дні тому

      You're totally right - the output speed was high... until an electrical load was added. Then it slowed right down with the drag, making it pretty useless

  • @OuyaWoelders-hi9bn
    @OuyaWoelders-hi9bn 2 дні тому

    pretty unefficient indeed, most vacuums draw about 1000w and your phone can draw 10w at most without any fastcharging protocol. meaning that the maximum efficiency this setup can possibly reach is 1%. almost all phone chargers can reach at least 75% (and thats crappy ones, good ones can reach 95% efficiency).

    • @JamiesBrickJams

      Gearing up unfortunately makes this perform way worse. There's barely enough torque to drive the heavy magnet core. So you end up with slower speeds and almost no current draw
