Yeah it's surprising there are gaps. Though I've tried sealing them, and it actually makes it perform worse. I suspect the gaps actually help bring more air into the tunnel
@@JamiesBrickJams now that I think of it, yes. As it pushes are, the next prop in front pulls in air from the gap. That actually might be a benefit than a negative. I see how it would work better with gaps than without.
Funny you mention that - I've made a few slayer circuits that you can power with a hand crank generator. And they can excite tubes of gas. Might try to make a video on it at some point
wow, i'm really surprised now it turned out, great job! also i have a question, where do you get your magnets and wires from? i really want to try these things but the internet is hard to navigate for good materials.
You're totally right - the output speed was high... until an electrical load was added. Then it slowed right down with the drag, making it pretty useless
pretty unefficient indeed, most vacuums draw about 1000w and your phone can draw 10w at most without any fastcharging protocol. meaning that the maximum efficiency this setup can possibly reach is 1%. almost all phone chargers can reach at least 75% (and thats crappy ones, good ones can reach 95% efficiency).
I've tried that several times and it actually seems to make the performance slightly worse. I suspect the gaps help to bring in more air between propellers
Gearing up unfortunately makes this perform way worse. There's barely enough torque to drive the heavy magnet core. So you end up with slower speeds and almost no current draw
with the power of LEGO, he has turned 240 volts into 10 volts. amazing. (love the vids)
Haha yeah this thing is totally silly 😅 But a fun proof of concept!
@@JamiesBrickJams this could actually be very useful in a power outage if you have wireless vacuum cleaners
@@TheAIPicklesnaah I would wire it Directy but good idea if you don't know electronics
This is very compact. I like it. Ive never seen people use those pieces to transform vacuuming power to rotational power. Very nice!
Thanks! Me neither, and I'm surprised - seems like a natural fit for vacuum engines
@@JamiesBrickJams Yea, it works perfect for these. the pieces are already in shape, its just there's a gap.

I like how the generator has a siren-esque sound to it. You should totally try to make a working siren out of LEGO!
YES!!!
Portable noddlely dude generator and taste maker, what a steal!
She was a tasty one alright 😄
4:11 no its not bro, its impressive!
3:10 FOOOOOOOOOOOL Bridge rectifier!
Perhaps could experiment with one with CVT input to the generator to make a variable output
That's a great idea, thanks! Would love to try that out on a generator sometime
FULL BRIDGE RECTIFIER!!!
You take Lego to the next level bro
Aw appreciate it 😁
@@JamiesBrickJamspremium lego
it’d be interesting to see if taping over the gaps in between the turbine pieces makes any difference to the output
adorable lil guy! good work :D
next time you charge your phone, put an efuse and buck boost converter if possible.
I would love to see some really practical build related to electricity. Not like turning 240V into 10V
Nice creation!
can you try making plasma with that power it would be very interesting.

Great video man! Keep going
Thanks a lot!
bro is the real life tony stark
The lego version
I’ve created a few piston lego vacuum engines, but I was unaware proper turbines were a thing
Same
That's awesome, I love those piston engines - would love to try one at some point
@@JamiesBrickJams I do not have the pieces. Im currently doing a non firing deagle
i love this channel so much
Appreciate it 😁
short but brilliant!
Lets go he uploaded (it’s that time of the month again)
I love your videos
Aw appreciate it 😁
Cool. You should try making a lego piston engine next to generate electricity as they're way more efficient and torquey
How are they more efficient
They are cool, but vacuum turbines are more efficient. It’s just the truth.
@@xmysef4920 vacuums draw more power than lego "generators" can produce
@@xmysef4920 u sure? Turbines waste a lot of air while lve's, especially if they have multiple cylinders, use all the vacuum for the power stroke
I'm certainly keen to create a piston vacuum engine. And if I can get a similar generator design, it could be interesting to compare the efficiency
The vacuum wattage is 1200W, whereas a phone charger is around 10W. Needs a bit more work on the efficiency. 😁
love your videos!
Voltmeter needs to suck a bit of power in order to work.
Not my dumb ah thinking the thumb nail was lightning Macqueen
so cool im gonna try it out myself
That's awesome and the best compliment I can take - good luck with yours! I'm sure you can improve on it
I bet it’s more efficient than current fusion reactors 😂
i the sole idea of you teaming up with integza and/or Electroboom.... not sure if it scares me or amazes me....
i like your videos
love the vids man keep it goin!!!!!!!
Thanks a lot 🙏😄
Vacuum piston engine when
wow, i'm really surprised now it turned out, great job! also i have a question, where do you get your magnets and wires from? i really want to try these things but the internet is hard to navigate for good materials.
i find it funny that he is using lots of electricity to make less electricity
The vacuum that uses like 20X the amount of power as the generator
Idea 💡 you shall make a 3 phase generator
I think that for the first lego turbine wouldn't really be powerful because you can easily stop it from spinning...But it has a lot of rpm
You're totally right - the output speed was high... until an electrical load was added. Then it slowed right down with the drag, making it pretty useless

Whomp whomp dude
this is awesome brother i love this (0_0)
I MADE THIS EXACT TURBINE DESIGN WITH 2 OF THOSE PROPELLERS AND 1 CYLINDER THINGY 2 WEEKS AGO😂.
+with a flywheel It sounded like a f1 v10 engine😅.
if there's a chance, could you make lego coil gun v3 ?
Most definitely! I've got some lovely big capacitors now. Would love to make a more compact version with faster reloading and maybe a magazine
using 1500W vacuum cleaner to generate something about 50W
nice
Haha I'm confident this is producing waaaaay less than 50w 😅 This thing is truly inefficient. But fun!
nah man, i waited for generator from gravity
It's in production 😉
How is this generator charging you phone is there some protection curcuit?
Dc-dc converter?
I really hope you didn't do it directly
SEAL THE HOUSING
I've tried that several times and it actually seems to make the performance slightly worse. I suspect the gaps help to bring in more air between propellers
what if instead of gearing down what about gearing up from 3:1 to 1:3 will it be enough
Gearing up unfortunately makes this perform way worse. There's barely enough torque to drive the heavy magnet core. So you end up with slower speeds and almost no current draw
Can you make a big and I mean big ganerator
Infinite energy hack
try to make a generator that uses a cylinder not a turbine
