On 6 weight flyrods and leadcore flyline....old 12 foot fiberglass with a sounder that's 25 years old....2.5 Yamaha Guys on my lake get annoyed when my my boy and I outfish them with a welfare outfit.....I was taught by an old school trapper who lived next to the acreage I bought 14 years ago.....Bernard took me out 5 times in 2 years before he passed away........I have won the lake derby 3 times since, guy was a wealth of knowledge.....its his old boat I fish
Sounds like thoses guys have issues. Lol. I started out fly fishing with a flyrod I built myself for 30 bucks. To me its one of my most valuble rods with the memories of the guys who taught me as a kid how to build it and I caught my first trouti in a float tube.with a floating line and a spilt shot on leader because I couldn't afford a sinking line at the time. As long as we can get out to enjoy our passion and make lasting memories we can never go wrong. Thanks for sharing. Sounds like you had a great mentor on your home waters and have it dialed. Id love to see a picture of that fish! Thepiscatorian@gmail.com. Tight lines Brad!
The planer board is a clear board. If I remember correctly, I think it got tangled around release. They normally release just fine and slide right down. A buddy lost one and replaced placed it with a yellowbird. I am not too happy with the release on that. I will be getting another set of clearboards.
I like your channel, been looking at it more as I live very close to american lake. Do you know anyone who works on boats nearby? As in additions such as anchor systems? Keep up the cool content!🎣👍🤙
Thanks for watching. I used to go to Tom's in Olyimpia but unfortunately it burnt down recently. You may try bass pro shops in Tacoma they have a service center.
Great edits! You got a new sub from me. I always love finding small, local channels like yours.
Thanks man, appreciate the support. Hope to get back on the water soon.

What kind of planer board are you using, that you have to fight the fish AND planer board, the whole way in?
