This game is a step towards the right direction. The problem I had with Assassin's Creed 4 was that it was more of a pirates game then an Assassin's Creed game. In my opinion Brotherhood was there peak and it slowly went down hill. I'm glad they finally picked a city worth climbing like Rome and they're integrating more rpg elements like customizable armor that effects gameplay and having higher leveled enemies that you have to avoid or stealth kill. I can't believe how long it took them to add something new to the stealth, even though it's just crouching.
I enjoyed Black Flag as its own thing, but this game definitely feels like a return to the traditional AC structure in a lot of ways that I think a lot of Assassin's Creed fans will find exciting. -Nick

The only thing I don't like about Unity is that when you assassinate a target you don't talk to them. That just added to the story and beauty to the game. AC3 had the best death scenes. ACR and AC4 were also amazing.
I really enjoyed the co-op missions in Splinter Cell Blacklist, so the co-op in Unity is something i'm looking forward to playing. I love the cool simultaneous takedowns and trying to get through missions without being detected, it worked perfect in the Blacklist missions so i can't wait to do it in Unity!
So far the character seems to be as story driven as Ezio was, can use any available weapon like Connor, has ease of parkour, Better combat mechanics so that its not resulting in permanent guarding and countering(even though in black flag some enemies divulged from that but not well) New stealth weapons, assassinations are quicker, and even new battle moves such as that trip slide
Stealth games are my favorite genre. Memorizing guard patterns, lock picking, discovering several ways to take out the enemy and getting out without raising an alarm is such a satisfying feeling. I love that Assassins Creed over the years has given the game somewhat of a Hitman feel where you can do all these things instead of just running in and stabbing the guy. That thing you said with the hiding in the confessional sounded so cool.
My concern with the Co-op is ending up with people that keep messing up the stealth aspect. Like someone will just run ahead of you and kill all the enemies taking all the fun out of it. Does the Co-op have any sort of reward or penalty system for working together?
Hahah, I think I was actually the guy you're describing for our heist mission. But yet, the game rewards you for working together: for example, in heist missions, you've got a meter onscreen showing your overall rewards that decreases every time one of you gets spotted. -Nick

1. Did you encounter any dynamic crowd events such as people getting stabbed or robbed? Were they fun? Any other varieties?
2. Are the city streets chaotic and crowded outside of missions as well? And what about the interiors? How did they feel?

I can't wait for this, it feels like the real AC4. Even though I loved Black Flag I kinda told myself it was a pirate spinoff instead of a main game.

this looks like its going to feel like ac1 upgraded. This is all i have ever wanted in these newer ac games. ac1 in my opinion was the most fun.

There's a gay bar in Montreal called Unity, and considering the four playable dudes I've been secretly hoping they have a launch party there.
I wish you can customize an assassin for the coop modes, I don't want to choose through 4 characters. It would make it 10x better imo
I under stand only being able to have 500 NPCs on the screen with last gen consoles and I'm excited to see 5000 +... But also no one is talking about AC: Rogue
Is the entire game Coop (like in borderlands) or just the missions?
So is the coop not free roam? It's just the Heist and Brotherhood missions? Not complaining still sounds awesome just wondering.
They didn't demo it for us, but it's free-roam too - I think when you hop into someone's game (via a Brotherhood mission, for example), you can just run around and get into open-world antics as much as you want. The campaign missions are single-player only, though. -Nick

Hey guys just a heads up for the game, in order to get the most amount of money in the game upgrade your stealth before anything else because when you pass missions without getting caught or killing less people you get much dinero.

Hi. What platform did you play ACU on? The recent news of 900/30fps and stuff I want to know how it ran? Im not hardcore on the spec like most, I just want to see how was the smoothness of your expereience? I know its far from release and its not the final build. Thanx.
Who needs more than 30fps? It's soooooo cinematic.
For the love of God, I hope they tone down the Tailing missions. I hate those things. Not because they're in the game, but because they're used so often in the previous installments and it's real easy to fail them sometimes.

OMFG I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR EVER FOR THUS GAME, it is my FAVORITE!!!
I hope with all the NPCs on screen it's not like AC4 and loads the enviornment as your running into it. You can literally see the NPCs in 4 spawn as you get near them.
As much as people hate sequels that come out every year at least in the case of Assassin's Creed the difference between expectations and reality can't be that far off.
They have been working on each game since AC2 for 3 years each, and ACU for 4 years... They can do this because of the huge staff and resources they have. And its a gift to us gamers to recieve such good AAA games every year! This is reality! :D

Is co op competitive at all? Like do you equally share rewards, or do you compete for the most money and kills
do enemies spot you while your hiding in the shadows? I know there is a stealth mode but they've only showed off the ability to use stealth when hiding behind walls or crouching behind objects

Having a hard time trying to decide which game to buy in November. Dragon Age: Inquisition, Far Cry 4 or this game. My wife always buys me a game for the Holidays so I get a second one. The question is which game to drop. I really like all three. But time and money are limited resources when you have a family to take care of.
Far Cry 4 seems to be the best option to drop. AC and DA tend to use melee combat a lot more, plus, while those games rehauled a bunch of major systems, FC4 only added very few things. But that's just my opinion.
Definitely DA: Inquisition.

I would go with Unity and Far Cry4 but of course that's just me..they've added some awesome new stuff to Far Cry like vehicle-to-vehicle takedowns, and finally the ability to shoot and drive at the same time lol -.- and there's a few more new game play mechanics which will work perfectly in a Far Cry game..so AC Unity is a must buy for me, then FC4 I will also be getting..then that's enough games for a few months x) so only get DA: Inquisition if you're a fan of Dragon Age, or look up some game play at least to help decide..but if you're a Far Cry 3 fan like me, FC4 is nothing but improvements in my opinion :) good gaming!

i am the only person who loves the modern and real world aspect i love AC's story very much and i hope its more prominent then in the last installment
Did you notice any dips in frame rate while playing this demo? I ask because several other impressions have stated frequent frame rate dips occurring.
I love that they finally added some stealth mechanics. Here is my problem though. The fact that they are trying to shove it down my throat!

I would like to know if you experienced a lot of glitches while walking through crowds or when free-running.
The parkour sounds a lot more underwhelming than the hype that Ubisoft was giving it. In videos prior they have tried to show diagonal movement up buildings. Interesting to hear it ends up feeling very familiar.
It's funny - I actually tried out the diagonal movement a couple of times, specifically the part where you're on ground level and approach a wall at a diagonal angle to run up it. Really, you only move diagonally for the first second or two of the move, before it chains back into 'standard' parkour. Put differently: you're never gonna run straight up and across a wall like in Titanfall or anything. -Nick
I know that Brotherhood Missions can be attempted singleplayer, but what about Heist missions? Can they also be done singleplayer, or do you have to have other players?

Does the game come in different languages? So, if I would like to play it in French because it being in a French setting, naturally I would like to feel a little bit more inmerse with it by playing it in a French dubbed but English subtitled game..
Hah, good question! I know a lot of folks preferred playing Assassin's Creed 2 in Italian with subtitles, so it'd be hard to imagine it's not an option here. Thanks for the comment! -Nick
So is the game still overly easy? In previous games if you got caught while trying to sneak you could just fight your way through the entire fortress, hassle free. Also is this games assassinations more Hitman influenced this time around like the church assassination, or still just run up and stab and dip-set? Thanks

Pretty unspectacular - they're not fleshed-out people with their own lives or anything, if that's what you mean. Lots of dialogue and custom animations depending on where you go in the city, though! -Nick

is multiplayer exclusive to the heists and brotherhood missions or can you play the entire story in multiplayer ?
You can't play main campaign missions in multiplayer, but you are absolutely allowed to run around the open world multiplayer and get into ambient hijinks that way. -Nick

Wow, some people aren't even buying it because it was slightly dimmed down graphically. It is sad that people will not play games for the fun nowadays. It still looks great. Better than current gen. Much better. Fanboys are really not too bright.

What would you say the replayability of this game would be? From what I have heard so far, and from what I have played of other assassins creed games, it seems like it will take the route of what Shadow of Mordor did, in that it builds its gameplay experience on one innovative and key feature and pretty much sacrifices other areas in order to meet that goal. In SoM, the nemesis system was fun but without a greater context for going around and killing all those guys, it felt pretty empty. In Unity, it looks like having the city be 'alive' with people will be the key feature, but there is only so much interest that it will be able to hold on to without a greater context for your repeated actions. Not that the game doesn't look amazing to play, I am just wondering if its going to be one of those one off games where the bulk of the enjoyment will reside in the campaign. (I am ignoring the fact that this has multiplayer for the most part because in games where coordination and cooperation is necessary to play, those never seem to translate well into the multiplayer. And I am not a particular fan of multiplayer to begin with).
You never talked about how it ran nick ? Also did they change the difficulty of the combat ? Because it looks the same.
I kinda hesitate to talk too extensively about that stuff in preview builds, as the games aren't finished and framerate optimization is one of the final things that happen in game development. That said: the framerate was kiiiind of all over the place. Here's hoping they tighten it up before release! -Nick

The combat has definitely gotten "Alot" harder then the previous games, there's a channel called "Beyond Pixels" who have recently released off-screen footage of ACU gameplay and gets into a fight with multiple guards but dies within seconds. For me personally I enjoyed that, it makes the game 10x better. Hyped for this game (:

Coop missions can be played by you're self but they are harder.
Was the combat in the game that different from other Assassins Creed games? Combat was one of the things that they said they were reworking with Assassins Creed Unity and I have seen some interesting things, but it looks like im going to have to play it to believe it.

My favorite part of the AC3 and AC4 is running around killing as many enemies as I could like a badass. I know they toned down the counter/ insta kills and replaced it with parring but my question is; how does parring make combat more difficult and do you think it's still possible to going on 30 plus killing sprees?
Hmm... the combat is definitely quite different, and much harder - some enemies can take you down in 1 - 2 hits. To hear them tell it, combat is a last resort and the type of thing you should avoid at all costs.
Let me put it this way: based on what you're describing, I think you'd have a lot of fun with Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. ;) -Nick
