I loved this chapter and after reading it I prayed for God to guide my choice for a mate. I wish I had parents like Abraham who would have looked after my future marriage as he did Isaac’s. I want to get it right and build a godly family🙏🏾🙏🏾
I think something worth meditating on is that Abraham trusted his servant so much that he was willing to entrust his family's entire future to his judgement and his faith. The leadership and trust that shows is immense.
Great point
So true, It’s interesting how the servant knew the LORD well enough to pray for guidance when he arrived. I think this maybe why Abraham trusted him. Because he knew that his servant would seek God’s wisdom & guidance.
I have been praying for my son's future wife since he was in middle school. Now, that he is 22 I more then ever see the importance of God's will in this matter. OT with DA just helped me to enrich my prayer and plea for the perfect "Ten-Camel Rebekah" that is out there waiting for my son. Beautiful chapter! As always - THANK YOU Pastor DA for shedding a new light on the OT. Thanks to EGW's writing my brain is being rewired to the Truth! So grateful!
This one of the best one to date. The quote Jesus can restore the years the locust have eaten. Is awesome!!!
I suggest that every person searching for a spouse read 31 prayers for my future wife. It changed my perspective on the search. We really don't teach to pray for your future spouse, we generally pray to get them but not for them.
Love how you guys are combing through the chapter!! God brought my husband to my life and we saw time and time again how he continued that leading as we got to know each other. God knows the important things that you pray for..and it’s funny but sometimes he brings someone that over exceeds.. God’s ways are always better than man’s ways. With the right person love and peace will only grow and in our case, our relationship simultaneously inspired a closer walk with God in our lives... I thank God every day for him ❤️. Praying for those desiring the husband or wife they’ve always longed for🙏🏽.
God give me the 10 lady camel, lol Dee you are on fire bro.
What an amazing mindblowing chapter and beautifully presented
Thank you Jesus 🙏🙏🙏

Prayer I want decisions to honor you.
Practice God speaks to us in a multitude of Christian counsel.
Play contributing but not controlling roll in our children's life

You guys are a blessing. At least 10 of members of the church saw the previous episode. About 5 young people saw this one.
Before watching this I was pondering a series of sermons for young ppl on relationships.
The first is an overview over God’s role in the marriages of Issac, Jacob, and Ruth.
Then 2 and 3 sermons honing into Rebekahs’ story in this chapter of PP.
🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Abraham wasn't playing games with his family!! Abraham is a true father of faith. Now I understand Abraham more so than the cute depiction of him as taught as a child. The man's character, the fruit of the spirit.
Hooray! I'm excited to hear that you will be hosting Sylvia! :-)
Mercy I can't wait to hear Ishmael story
Pastor Henry Wright said the person you choose as a mate is directly related to where you are in your spiritual life with God at the time you choose them. Without the full baptism of the Holy Spirit and being converted you may choose a mate that can't help you reach heaven.
Faithfulness
Andy Stanley says it well: "Are you becoming the person the person you are looking for is looking for?"
My word Providence
Point- parents present your lives to God. So that your children trust your wisdom and counsel.
Person-God's orginal plan of love and marriage is plainly shown in Issac and Rebekah following the God of creation and obey God leads to love ❤️
Practice make sure you choose a mate that isn't just a Christian but a follower, converted man or woman who follows all of the word of God.
Pray Praying as a parent that God fills me with his Holy Spirit that I may be a spiritual influence on my children and their mates. Not control but contribute pure love to my children.
Promise Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
James 4:7-8 ESV
I married a man that God lead me to.
My word was Sanctified. Why because in both the Bible and EGWs writings Rebekah was set aside for the preservation of God’s law and truth. Her willingness to leave her own home showed that she already had her walk with God. She was willing to be sanctified by God to preserve His covenant with Abraham.
"Thigh" is an inaccurate translation. He actually said "Put your hand under my TESTICLES." That was a thing. Its where the word testify and testimony come from. So you may not want to say that to people anymore...😂
Success or failure of their life to there wedding day
Hi David Adventist! Good session mostly but you seem to contradict this inspired counsel. Adventist Home, chapter 11. "A youth not out of his teens is a poor judge of the fitness of a person as young as himself to be his companion for life. After their judgment has become more matured, they view themselves bound for life to each other and perhaps not at all calculated to make each other happy. Then, instead of making the best of their lot, recriminations take place, the breach widens, until there is settled indifference and neglect of each other. To them there is nothing sacred in the word “home.” The very atmosphere is poisoned by unloving words and bitter reproaches." "Early marriages are not to be encouraged. A relation so important as marriage and so far-reaching in its results should not be entered upon hastily, without sufficient preparation, and before the mental and physical powers are well developed." The front brain architecture is not completed until age 25 to 30 in humans according to neurophysiologist. Of course, some are more mature in the early twenties, but that is rare. Concerning age of looking around and marriage, you seemed to overgeneralize your experience on courtship and marriage in opposition to Ellen Whites's general counsels. Otherwise, very good session with PP!
