Hello everyone!! :D It's time for more RWBY!
Maybe this wasn't the cover from RWBY you were expecting, but when I heard this song on the soundtrack I knew I had to record it. It isn't very often I get to record and soft, sweet, lullaby-esque track. The challenges presented when recording a song so dynamically different than my normal affair are surprisingly great. All that said, I do think I struggled a bit with this piece, but I do think it might give you a sense of calm, even if just for a little bit :P
Big thanks to the incredible instrumentalist, Nathaniel Keith for blessing us with another astounding piece of music. Can't wait to work with you again, dude :)

I recently discovered what this song means to me.
Let me summarize: I'm 20 years old, this past summer, 19 year old me went to visit my father who lived out of state for the first time in my life. That was a weird feeling. I came from my mother who would constantly "borrow" money from me after each paycheck and many other things that I thought was normal, people kept telling me it wasn't but I didn't believe them, until I went to my father's, where I discovered something. It wasn't normal. There, in my father's home, I met my 2 younger brothers and step mother. Not once was I asked for money, not once was I belittled for the sake of being belittled, I wasn't talked down too because of something small that I couldn't help, I was treated as a human being, and received the love that one should have. When Father's day came around while I was up there? I told my dad "come on, let's go get something for you." He only smiled and said "no, you just coming up here and willing to do this is more than enough for me." Where as, my step father back "home" wanted a sandwich maker that was roughly 40-50. My mother shit down every other idea I had, considering how I was gonna be able to get a personalized autograph from Frylocke from ATHG for him. When I boarded my flight to come back from my father's, I had a letter from my stepmother who wished me the best and told me to always keep in touch and let them know if I needed anything.
I learned that moment, that my mother's house wasn't my home. But my father his family, they were a home. One I couldn't live in, but one I could visit and stay in whenever. I sent this song to my stepmother after I landed. I was in tears as my grandparents picked me up and brought me to their place, from there I went somewhere else. My friend Nick's. My roommate, who made his home, into my new home

As soon I saw Monty's art, i can't help but start crying, and i start crying more when Summer' and Ruby' art appeared, Thank you Caleb for such beatiful cover and I hope for more RWBY covers from you. Keep up good work and good luck.

My mother passed three years ago. There are only two songs that break me down to tears, Home-Caleb's cover, and Cold-Jeff Williams. Your voice is what brings me to letting it all out in this cover. I miss her so god damn much but everyone in my family says that God needed her more, and I don't truly believe that because I need her to guide me, to help me. When I graduated I saw my family without her sitting in the seats, and I just wanted to let it all out. I graduated not for some useless school school dealio, I did it because that was what she wanted. It's a damn good cover Caleb, keep up the good work.

I love this so much! This is my favorite song from RWBY. My fiance and I have decided this is "our song" and it was the first RWBY song that I actually learned! I trained in opera so uploading contemporary covers is something that I kinda haven't gotten used to yet. But I just wanted to say that I love your version of this. It is so well blended and put together. Your tone is so rich and pleasant. I just appreciate this so much. Seriously, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for posting this.

This was incredible and beautifully sung Caleb. You did a great job I don’t remember hearing this song from the show though. Caleb your singing in this song sounds like Josh Groban. Which makes wish you would do the song Believe from The Polar Express.

I only recently found it, too. So much power in Caleb's rendition. Makes me tear up every time.

A year ago today, I was by my dog's side as we shared one last night together before she passed away the next day, I had her for 16 years. None of my family realizes what today is for me and I have been alone because of it, this song reminds me of her so much. She was my home, thank you for this song, it was beautiful.

When the guy with black clothes popped up, I was like, "Who is this with Ruby's scythe?" Then I saw angel wings and my heart broke. Monty is so missed.
That final part with the duet and the orchestra turned this thing from merely beautiful to HOLY SHIT.

I love coming back to this song, both the cover and the original version because its such a good song and both Caleb and Casey are great singers. But what i love the most about this one is the monty image and especially the Ruby and Summer one at the end, truly a good idea to use that one at the very end
