- How to program your 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 keys
You Must have Two Working Programmed Keys to do this procedure.
1. Insert first programmed key into ignition and turn ignition switch to ON for 3 to 15 seconds. Do not exceed 15 seconds.
2. Turn ignition switch to OFF and remove key
3. Insert second programmed key into ignition and turn ignition switch to ON. You must do this within 15 seconds of removing first key. After 10 seconds the immobilizer warning lamp will illuminate and an audible tone will be heard.
4. Turn ignition switch to OFF and remove key.
5. Within 60 seconds insert new un-programmed key into ignition and turn ignition switch to ON.
6. After 10 seconds an audible tone will be heard and the immobilizer warning lamp will illuminate for 3 seconds.
7. Turn ignition switch to OFF and remove key.
8. For each additional key to be programmed you must start at Step 1 and follow procedure again.
Note: You can have up to 8 keys programmed to a vehicle
Also you will need to cut your new key first. Most locksmiths can do this for a few bucks, I got two cut for like $7
The new key used was from RemotesRemotes.com
I bought mine on a flash sale on Amazon.com
What if you only have one programmed key fob?

For those of you with ONLY one key, that is cut, needing to program it, try this!!!
While all his steps are correct. You do NOT need 2 or even 1 currently programmed key! I know because I accidentally unprogrammed my, which is why I came to find thos video and ot was my ONLY key!!! With nothing to lose, I tried his method, using THE SAME KEY all 3 times and, it reprogrammed it! I did it JUST NOW! With nothing to lose give it a try!!! Then let me know in the responses below!
How three times?
I had 2 key fobs got one programmed,”worked”,the other didn’t,so maybe I’ll order 2 more,but thx for the video,saved me at least a hundred bucks,👍

I only have one working key fob on my 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 , I purchased 2 key fobs because one remote stopped working and a battery didn't fix it, the old battery was still good. Ho w can you program your remotes with one key Fob? Because I don't have a 2 working programed key fobs only one key fob is working.
I hope this works i was setting out side my office and my truck started up with out warning this was odd as I was not applying pressure on the key at all but some one inside the office was locking there car and it never happened before so I thank that someone made a key to my truck or the prior owner to it maybe it just doesn't set well with me at all I hope this knocked out that key out of my security system I don't play well with others and this is keeping me up later than usual and all I can find is how to program not wipe so maybe it will take it out
If you have one key, could you not just use it twice and then use the unprogrammed key?
scared to experiment. i have an '06 ram 2500 with a diesel programmer. it often throws an "incorrect immobilizer key code" and prevents my truck from running until i can spend a half hour on the phone with Bully Dog tech support to get a reset. Does anyone have any expert experience here?

I have two working keys but lost the one with the remote door locker/unlocker fob. If I buy a replacement key with fob does this procedure also program the door locker/unlocker button functions?
What is the option if you only have one programmed original OEM key and desire to program two new OEM virgin keys that have been cut, but not program?
You have to go to the dealership for your make of car and have them program a new key for you. Or have a locksmith with a programming computer do it. Then, once you have two, working programmed keys, you can use this method to add more.
I have 2 programmed keys and did what the video said and my new key still don’t program. What’s the problem? Help!

I have tried several of these techniques to program a chip key for my 2007 Dodge Caravan. It won't work for me. I bought the chip key on E-Bay and had it cut at a hardware store. I can use the chip key to open the door but it won't start the engine. Can you think of any other useful tips you can give me. The dealerships charge too much money to do this.

no you have to replace the diesel with a gas engine. oh and if you have leather seats it wont work either.

It’s not the circuit board that’s important. It’s the little transponder chip glued to the side usually

I went to a Lock Smith and they cut the keys. Just have to tell them I only want the keys cut.

What if we only have 1 programmed key???
Then you’ll have to contact a locksmith or dealer because they will have to be able to pull a pin code to get around the security system. 2018+ is even more fun because of the Security Gateway Module. Depending on vehicle you have to tear the dash out to get to 2 plugs. Thanks MOPAR!!
