the R.E.M lip products (specifically the plumping lipgloss) are actually quite good, but the brand DEFINITELY does not stand on its own two feet. i don’t know anyone who uses their products, nor have i ever seen anyone recommend them!
I recommend the Sweetener foundation to anyone I meet. It's probably my favorite foundation. When I'm out of my current ones, I'm going to repurchase the REM one.
The products themselves arent bad, so Ive read, just just they dont have their own pov in order to stand apart from Grande. But maybe thats not their goal and they want it as fan service 🤷
I love the plumping gloss, but I went to order the Glinda drops and the mascara and the Glinda drops are skincare with glitter and the mascara isn’t waterproof so i couldn’t do it
Idk, other celebrities built their makeup brands where it actually made sense, like Rihanna who revolutionized foundation and shade range and Lady Gaga who has always been known for her bold and boundary-pushing makeup looks, but for Ariana it always felt rather…plain 😅 I do like her perfumes tho, they‘re really cute ❤
Its all about a point of view. Rihanna attached inclusivity to her brand, Gaga (after the rebrand) was artistic creation, rem is still pretty much about Ari
if rem beauty had at least one product that would be their staple, but none of their products are remarkable, in fact, they're are all quite mid. you could say their shade range is impressive, but being inclusive nowadays is the bare minimum. she should stick to fragrances (i only heard good things about them) and let this brand die before it becomes a bigger problem for her.
Just to be clear, I dont think they were the first people to do white eyeliner, just that they wanted to promote it in a way that it would be ‘their thing’, i.e. their most noticeable product
i was really disappointed in the eyeliner, i thought if there was ONE THING that she could really do right it would be that but i swear the marker tip dried out within a month
Ariana’s makeup always felt like a cash grab because outside of her fanbase she’s never been known for her makeup. She’s never started a makeup trend or seemed passionate about it. So it seemed out of nowhere. Her products look like kids makeup and she’s never had a staple product. It would’ve been smarter for her to create body scrubs and oils to go with her perfumes or maybe homeware scents and candles to match her perfumes. Her makeup brand definitely won’t be missed in the beauty world.
Its an of-the-moment brand most definitely. But hey, we all like a bit of fun every now and again, and at least its nice to have a celebrity line thats not embarrassingly shooting for the starts and failing. Its humble in a way that they know their lane and they stick to it despite knowing its limitations
@@underskinYT True. This make up like would’ve done better in the 2016 era where people were over consuming makeup products. In todays economy people just want products that go with their every day look so having a staple product is important.

I just don't think Ariana has done any of the leg work and was premature to test out if the brand can fly without her.... these intermittent sales between popularity will not spawn any hero repeat products... how can the company survive without that
you do know Ari's been working on RB since like 2019 right and that was almost 6 years ago.. she's a businesswoman she's very hand on with everything she does including her brand...
For sure, its unlikely to be really her own pov for the brand, but also we cant attribute that unfairly, almost no celebrity really is the creative force behind their brands, no least because they have no time to do that. Theres delegation happening in every brand and thats expected and okay. Branding wise, I think more work needs to be done if they want it to last longer than her celebrity, but maybe thats not their aim and theyre okay with that 🤷
The only thing i liked about REM was the space theme. It reminded me of Y2K, which i lived through. I'm guessing the space theme was dropped because y2k is no longer trending.
I feel like if Ariana put the effort that she did for the Wicked Collab in every product that she produces, I think it would be more appealing to a wider range of people. The eyeshadow palette, while pretty pricey, is so high quality and pretty ❤
@underskinYT i think so. I think she was more involved with the making and advertising of the Wicked makeup, and it's pretty obvious that she loves the Wicked products. It kinda reminds me of how involved she is in the making of her perfumes, and I can say that they smell amazing! This is my opinion, though, since the Wicked packaging has improved immensely compared to her usual products, which I find the packaging is cheap and seems like it could sell in Claire's for a cheaper price.
As a Wicked fan, I was excited for the release, but was disappointed when the products were released - imho One Size did a better Wicked makeup release. I want to love it all, One Size is not a favourite brand; I just bought the Wicked palette because Wicked. The r.e.m. Wicked release could have been so much better, but doesn’t match O/S in quality or give Wicked vibes as nicely. If the products weren’t labelled Wicked you wouldn’t see the association.
They need a staple product - that will help them really stand out! They almost had it with the foundation. But I’m a huge Ari fan and I’ve never bought anything from REM
I try to make it digestible even for everyone of course, sometimes business can be a bit clunky and heavy to digest, so glad to make it more fun to engage 🥰
I agree when you said she should ve stuck to the space theme with rem in which would be different from her peers! I mean you could do a whole story line with that theme through out the four seasons.
It’s also interesting to note that with celebrity cosmetic brands like Fenty Beauty or Rare Beauty, although the respective celebrities were apart of the initial marketing, there were other models too. With R.E.M. it was solely Ariana Grande and has continued to be.

They need to follow what Haus Labs did, which is to specialize on a few really strong products and gain market share based on the product quality to the point that Gaga’s reputation and popularity does not affect sales at all. HL is now a huge company and I think the “REM” name is unique enough for this to follow a similar trajectory if they can stop relying on Ariana to promote.
I did a video on HL actually and youre quite right. They distilled Gagas essence to a communicable word, and used that as their differentiator. Brilliant rebrand. Brilliant.
i feel that exact sentiment too. i really liked the initial 60's space-era retrofuturism aesthetic they were going for through the photoshoots and some of the products during chapter 1, but chapter 2 and onwards that concept didn't seem to be carried out anymore which was a shame
Honestly I don’t think it’s the biggest brand and I wasn’t that interested in trying it but after getting a couple lip glosses I actually really like the collection. I got the entire new collection for wicked just bc I thought they were different. Everything is honestly amazing I love the eyeshadow and they had a black lipstick that is ph changing that is like black honey but better. Honestly my favorite lip ever I wish it wasn’t limited. Finally I like the sparkly eyeliners I have the silver but want the blue + white it’s amazing. I hate to say but it’s quickly become my new favorite and hope it doesn’t collapse.
TLDR I think her products are great and unique. Especially in person the products really do pop and look exceptionally pretty. Didn’t think I would be such a fan of her stuff but I haven’t tried anything I do like even though I did find it underwhelming at first
The products themselves dont get bad reviews at alll, its likely why her financial anaylysts okayed her taking the brand from morphe, but I think if the brand want to keep longer than her personal fame they just need a small tweak to make it stand apart from grande herslef
When I think of Ariana Grande I dont think of make up. Maybe she should have created a hair care line instead? She is literally recognized for her bright red hair and later high pony tail.
If she was trying to rebrand now she could even say something like "going back to her roots"? To allude to a change in her. After what happened with Ethan Slater and his wife/new born baby I feel like a lot of people dislike her and lost respect (including myself).
It was dead a long time ago, she needs to stop selling makeups and start listening to what we arianators want like girl we don’t want ur makeup we need new music release, THE TOURRRR 😫
hey could you do a video on how one should go about establishing a good marketing presence, and maintaining it on a personal and professional brand level xx
I think a good example of that is my Body Shop video, how they curated their point of difference, and also my Haus Labs video as I analyse why one iteration didnt work and why one did
So I know that your videos mainly focus on beauty brands, but I feel like an interesting topic to delve into would be the ignorance on olive skintones in the beauty industry. I know the beauty industry still has a difficult time with inclusivity generally, but olive undertones are consistently ignored (so us green people have to contend with either looking too pink or orange 😂) . Only in the last few years have a few brands (like Fenty and Rare Beauty) started putting out olive base products, but it's still severly lacking.
Ugh! I hate the Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer look on the tip of the nose through highlighter Ariana’s wearing at 10:00. It’s even worse here because she only seems to have highlighter on the tip of her nose and nowhere else on her face.
i do believe these videos are right about the future of the brand however it makes me sad to see ppl think the products are bad. the foundation is rather nice, i love the red blush stick, the mint highlighter, the gogo boots eyeshadow palette, the lip oils and glosses are also rather nice. i think it just came out at a time where other products were getting more attention so nobody really purchased and tried the brand. i think to save the brand, they should turn it into a drug store one with cheaper prices so people actually consider picking up the products
The products arent bad, youre right, its just theres so much good product on shelves these days that they need more to stand out. But also, if they dont have more, people assume itd bad when its not, I think max factor gets caught in that too
@@underskinYT i have tried some and their quality is not worth that price maybe in the US it is but where I live it's considered expensive and the packaging while cute gives cheap
ngl i was so excited for rem beauty but it ended up being so disspointing i don't know quality does not match price at all and it's been a little lackluster
Hey I'm a guy who doesn't use makeup- can someone explain to me why being "good but nothing groundbreaking" bad for makeup? Don't they all use the same formulas for stuff?? What else is there to really improve upon ?? Just curious
Good but nothing groundbreaking is the same for any product really. Why would you buy anything doesn’t differentiate in some way. Could be the formula, could be price, could be promotion. If theres an almost-exact alternative, why bother risking trying a new product? If you think about your trips to the supermarket, imagine you could taste all the cookies in store before you bought them, what would make you buy one bag of cookies over the other? Price, packaging, recipe? Same with make-up, except it’s a far more saturated (and competitive) market. So, if theres another celebrity brand with the same price, similar colours, similar recipe (yes formulas do differ that much, but it usually affects price a lot), why would anyone bother buying the new one?
She is known for a ponytail, but idk I think thatd be a hard sell too tbh. I think ghey couldve done numbers with hair charms when she was in thag phase but its a bit late now
I was so excited for her brand and bought like 3 lipsticks, and the price wasn’t exactly great for the quality of the lipstick. It got in my teeth and also dried out my lips. I also bought her highlighter because I thought it was beautiful, I use it and it doesn’t really do much. Unlike the rare beauty highlighter which actually was stunning on my skin. Honestly REM beauty, was a waste of my money and I lowkey feel like I was sold a lie. Her perfumes are great tho!
I like the ethereal and cosmic marketing and concept of her makeup. But damn was it so cheap. I worked at Ulta and I couldn’t believe how bad quality it was. It felt like those fake gel makeup kits that we would have as kids.
Oh that’s so interesting, I knew it was never the best quality make up, but I always heard it was just kind of mid, which I felt went very much with the direction of the brand at least, even if it is a bit overpriced
When I saw that she was coming out with a makeup brand, the first thing I thought was "this is the most blatant cash grab I've ever seen". It was so obvious after Rihanna came out with Fenty and then Selena having success with Rare Beauty
is rem beauty not one of the top performing celeb makeup lines? i thought it might’ve been a flop too but idk i see things sold out and some items being used and the instagram is active as hell. even sabrina carpenter mua uses rem. i heard some products are outstanding and others are just ok.
The product itself looked so good. I loved the eyeshadow shade swankified (I hope I remember it right, its the goldish one), so my critique or constructive criticism isnt about thag at all, the product is interesting, but its limited

I think the biggest problem is the marketing. I didnt even know it was a Ariana brand when i first started seeing it. Because of the name i thought it was one of those brands. That our grandma wear. Similar to Mary kay. But when i did find out if was her brand. It seemed more like a cash grab. Loke after the success riri, kylie, and selena came out with their brands. Its seems like everybody starting doing it. The difference is they seem gunine about thair brands. With ariana it seems like a cash granlb
Well tbf, neither kylie, rihanna not selina came up with the ideas for their brands either, theyre all faces of brands that were preplanned too. Ive done videos aabout all of them actually
Somebody else said it as well. I don’t personally believe it as much as I do for another celebrity beauty brand, or any celebrity brand tied to a charity, but you know you can never really tell until its obvious. In either direction its purely about money, but then I suppose everything is 🤷
@ yes and no. not a lot of celeb brands lately tho. like fenty, haus labs, rare beauty, even rhode are all their own brands, makeup and formulas. rem is one of the only big celeb brands as of late that is owned and formulated under an already established brand.
You always drop a new vid when I need a study buddy the most, I am so grateful 🥲 I will leave a more interesting comment later when I finish the video, but right now it's study time!
Oh everything falls eventually. The channel cannot go on forever just as rem cant and even disney cant. Its just about identifying points of weakness and discussing them
Im not trashing it at all. I dont think its a bad brand, but it doesnt have longevity and its clear thats planned. In a way its refreshing to have a celeb line that knows exactly what it is
No no not at all, not yet. What I tried to explain at the end is that the brand seems to be happy in its celebrity brand lane, not really pushing for a brand with longevity, but happy to make some coin today. And though its a bit of a shame that its not going to be around forever, its refreshing to see a celebrity line that so clearly knows what its trying to do/be
The brand looked gimmicky and low quality since the beginning. It's been underwhelming through and through. Also you can't feel the same representation and passion you get from other celebrity brands like Fenty or Rare.
Cut the bs. Ariana Grande's makeup empire is unstoppable, fueled by her devoted fanbase and top-tier products. New drops tied to Wicked are coming and haters can't handle it. As someone who's tried Chanel and more, Ari's lipsticks reign supreme. Her sold-out collections speak volumes, her innovative collabs break boundaries, and her loyal fans know quality. If you a hater, just say that
The thing is, I’m not a hater, I’m a very big fan of hers, but my enjoyment of her as a celebrity should not be a factor in whether I think that brand has longevity or not. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the brand being based on her celebrity directly, but it’s clear that they don’t expect the brand to last longer than that, which too is fine, they seem to acknowledge it well and are under no false image of themselves
rem beauty is a beautiful makeup line that might not be for everyone but that doesn't mean its a flop. I use a few rem beauty products daily (I love love the lip products), the quality is amazing. regarding people not being able to see ariana in a makeup brand...... you seriously live in a cave if you don't think of eyeliner and ponytails when you think of ariana. ariana is known for her beauty and many eyeliner looks so.... REM BEAUTY MAKES SENSE. as a ariana fan for over 10 years, I could absolutely see ariana in this brand and ariana has always loved creating products hence her extensive line of perfumes so rem beauty was another creating experimentation/business that she wanted to do. the products do hold up (people need to stop hating on brands or products when they haven't tried a variety of the products for a long amount of time) but obviously beauty and beauty products are different for everyone. just because rem beauty doesn't suit someones style, skin type or comfort does not mean that its a flop or a bad brand. I think rem beauty will continue to do very well for a very very long time.
I think your comment really proves my point. Its a fine brand meant to be made for fans. Would a non-fan become this attached? Probably not. But is it good enough to provide decent products to those that do like her? Absoluely! It seems to know its lane and enjoys being there, theres nothingwrong with that at all; it just doesnt have longevity. Do all brands need to be forever? Maybe not, and it is at least refreshing to have a brand try to be nothing but what it is

Oooooooh new upload let’s goooooo
Can we have a video on summer Fridays? They’ve been at the top of their game recently
Hmmm maybe, Ive been wanting an exaple of trend following
Her foundations are actually really good
Im sure theyre not bad, but how different can they be?
You have such a soothing voice I love listening to you speak!
Thank you 🥰🥰
When I think of Ariana Grande I dont think of make up. Maybe she should have created a hair care line instead? She is literally recognized for her bright red hair and later high pony tail.
If she was trying to rebrand now she could even say something like "going back to her roots"? To allude to a change in her.
After what happened with Ethan Slater and his wife/new born baby I feel like a lot of people dislike her and lost respect (including myself).
the wicked references throughout 💚💚
💖💚
Those wicked palletes remind me of odens eye palletes
Yeah I get that
rembeauty is the 3rd best selling beauty brand of 2024 😭
I think itll do well in 2025 too, shes really at the height of her fame
loved the video !! also loved the wicked references, i was wondering if i was going crazy or if it was on purpose 😭😭
Are people born referencing? Or do they have referencing thrust upon the? After all, she had a father, she had a mother as so many do
Thank you for your video! As a marketer myself, your analysis is delicious ❤️
Glad to be of service 🥰
It was dead a long time ago, she needs to stop selling makeups and start listening to what we arianators want like girl we don’t want ur makeup we need new music release, THE TOURRRR 😫
Wicked tour 2026 😂
hey could you do a video on how one should go about establishing a good marketing presence, and maintaining it on a personal and professional brand level xx
I think a good example of that is my Body Shop video, how they curated their point of difference, and also my Haus Labs video as I analyse why one iteration didnt work and why one did
Side note not sure why wicked needs to be 2 parts
not going to completely spoil it but think of dorothy in oz
@@1remirashit they going all out???
So I know that your videos mainly focus on beauty brands, but I feel like an interesting topic to delve into would be the ignorance on olive skintones in the beauty industry. I know the beauty industry still has a difficult time with inclusivity generally, but olive undertones are consistently ignored (so us green people have to contend with either looking too pink or orange 😂) . Only in the last few years have a few brands (like Fenty and Rare Beauty) started putting out olive base products, but it's still severly lacking.
Have you tried MAC? Its quite full coverage but they have different bases for all their colours, their system is brilliant actually
she needs a rebranding ASAP. As a product designer, the packaging quality & design is mediocre at best
Theres a disconnect for sure. Her perfume bottles too arent particularly well branded
Ugh! I hate the Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer look on the tip of the nose through highlighter Ariana’s wearing at 10:00. It’s even worse here because she only seems to have highlighter on the tip of her nose and nowhere else on her face.
Hahahahah its the trend 😂
i do believe these videos are right about the future of the brand however it makes me sad to see ppl think the products are bad. the foundation is rather nice, i love the red blush stick, the mint highlighter, the gogo boots eyeshadow palette, the lip oils and glosses are also rather nice. i think it just came out at a time where other products were getting more attention so nobody really purchased and tried the brand.
i think to save the brand, they should turn it into a drug store one with cheaper prices so people actually consider picking up the products
Tbh ALL of the wicked collabs for all brands doing it are just pink and green! so i cant blame her.
But thats the point, it couldve been anyone
@@underskinYT you are right!
She need to just launch in Asia’s Sephora they only release it in Europe
Sephora isnt doing that well in Asia atm, they just pulled out of Korea
@@underskinYTJapan too!
i was at the macys herald square drop and got a meet and greet ticket 😭
Nooooo
ngl i was so excited for rem beauty but it ended up being so disspointing i don't know quality does not match price at all and it's been a little lackluster
I think thw products are fine its just they arent special or unique at all
i feel like they need a whole rebrand, something that actually sets them apart from the rest
A good pov for sure wiuld help
5:44 the dancing through life reference ahhhh
Thoughtless and careless 🤍
Hybe is everywhere my god
I mean, it’s an incredible company, it really changed the game of Korean music
could you please make a video on downfall of jaclyn hills beauty , jewelry and lounge brand ?!
Oh its very much in the works
So, if theres another celebrity brand with the same price, similar colours, similar recipe (yes formulas do differ that much, but it usually affects price a lot), why would anyone bother buying the new one?
can u do a video on painted by james charles what do you think about his brand?
Id love to actually, next video will be max factor biography though 🥰
@@underskinYT Soooo excited to watch it!!
I think a hair care line would have made more sense, since that’s a bigger thing she’s known for
She is known for a ponytail, but idk I think thatd be a hard sell too tbh. I think ghey couldve done numbers with hair charms when she was in thag phase but its a bit late now
Girl does not care about that ad 😭
Its giving blackpink talking about that car
I feel like flower knows would have a better wicked inspired palette.
Any brand with a strong aesthetic differentiator couldve added something to it imo
how is it a fall when it’s the 3rd best selling beauty brand of 2024…?
I did say I think itll be a while, she has a great fanbase (which I am a part of)
I was so excited for her brand and bought like 3 lipsticks, and the price wasn’t exactly great for the quality of the lipstick.
Different goals for the two companies for sure, but I have to disagree about the perfumes, just too sweet for me, though I do like the packaging
I see the wicked references💚💚💚
Unlimited 💚💖
The lip products are good but nothing to ride home about
Quality isnt their differentiator yeah
Great video
Thank you! 😊
She's promoting it with the Wicked movie !
That is quite a large section of the end of the video my guy
@@underskinYT Oops, I commented while watching the video, my bad.
rem its selling amazing numbers
For now, yeah. But thats what I said
When I saw that she was coming out with a makeup brand, the first thing I thought was "this is the most blatant cash grab I've ever seen". It was so obvious after Rihanna came out with Fenty and then Selena having success with Rare Beauty
At least with this one, it’s very obvious that they know that it is a cash grab
is rem beauty not one of the top performing celeb makeup lines? i thought it might’ve been a flop too but idk i see things sold out and some items being used and the instagram is active as hell. even sabrina carpenter mua uses rem. i heard some products are outstanding and others are just ok.
I think so yes, it seems to be doing well, but the video ending isnt about where they are *now* but about the lasting potential of the brand
@ yes super interesting i’d like to see where it goes and their potential
@@user-fe8uq9zp2gas far as I know… it’s not that successful. Not nearly as close to Rare or Fenty or Haus Labs
@@underskinYT that remains to be seen tbh
5:44 Aahha, I see what you did there
Noone mourns the wicked 💅
??? Her make up brand did not fall. Its doing pretty well
✨watch the end of the video✨
@underskinYT ok ❤️
omg can yall please stop mentioning queen for views
Its a king now, the queen died a while back
I did not expect Hybe to appear in this vid
They are everywhere 😂😂
I got a couple pieces from the wicked collab and i was so impressed that i will be definitely wanting to try more from her brand!
The product itself looked so good. I loved the eyeshadow shade swankified (I hope I remember it right, its the goldish one), so my critique or constructive criticism isnt about thag at all, the product is interesting, but its limited
Makes me think, it's just a money laundry front?
Somebody else said it as well. I don’t personally believe it as much as I do for another celebrity beauty brand, or any celebrity brand tied to a charity, but you know you can never really tell until its obvious. In either direction its purely about money, but then I suppose everything is 🤷
it’s literally just morphe makeup but repacked and processed gouged for ari
Thats a lot of makeup these days tbf. Branding really does a lot of the leg work
@ yes and no. not a lot of celeb brands lately tho. like fenty, haus labs, rare beauty, even rhode are all their own brands, makeup and formulas. rem is one of the only big celeb brands as of late that is owned and formulated under an already established brand.
HYBE and Scooter Braun behind this too? oh no
They are an investor in the company, yeah
You always drop a new vid when I need a study buddy the most, I am so grateful 🥲
I will leave a more interesting comment later when I finish the video, but right now it's study time!
GET THAT STUDYING!!!! You got this!!! 🤍🤍🤍
Gag it
Flip it to the side and get all up in it
Love to see it! That’s called karma miss Ariana, stop sleeping with other peoples husbands.
am i the only one catching the wicked references?
Together we’re unlimited
The inedible fall of underskinYT
Oh everything falls eventually. The channel cannot go on forever just as rem cant and even disney cant. Its just about identifying points of weakness and discussing them
meanie
I guess if you can't make your own success just trash another yeah?
Im not trashing it at all. I dont think its a bad brand, but it doesnt have longevity and its clear thats planned. In a way its refreshing to have a celeb line that knows exactly what it is
What do you mean fall, is she discontinuing the company?
No no not at all, not yet. What I tried to explain at the end is that the brand seems to be happy in its celebrity brand lane, not really pushing for a brand with longevity, but happy to make some coin today. And though its a bit of a shame that its not going to be around forever, its refreshing to see a celebrity line that so clearly knows what its trying to do/be
@underskinYT oh ok thank you so much for your answer ♡ I didn't have time to watch but got worried it was shutting down
In that case, when you have time to watch it, I hope you enjoy
her brand is actually really, really good. the concealers and lip products specifically
Sure, but are they good enough that a non-fan would choose them over competitors?
@ the aesthetic alone is pretty cool since there aren’t many space/movie promotions in the makeup-skincare world. i just think it’s cute
@@underskinYT why are you challenging every rem beauty positive comment 😭
Im not meaning this as a challenge but as a question about quality vs perceived quality
rem beauty is so slept on, i use a few of her products and people always love the packaging. its too bad its flopping
Oh financially its doing quite well, the products are fine, itll do well for a while until the celebrity factor wears thin
I think the promotion was very cringe from the start and to me the products look like toy makeup for little girls
Maybe thats exactly what it is, aimed for a very uoung audience
rare beauty is so superior
I prefer rem personally, I dont love companies making their own non-charity and appointing the same people as CEOs
@@underskinYT i'm talking about products quality
In that case it does seem more people prefer Rare’s formulas 😅
The brand looked gimmicky and low quality since the beginning. It's been underwhelming through and through. Also you can't feel the same representation and passion you get from other celebrity brands like Fenty or Rare.
YeH I agree tbb
Oh wow I should not type when tired 😂
did she even advertise that brand anymore?
I don’t think she does proper adverts at all really, just social media
Love any video about her failures 😂
i''m sorry but the price is not that affordable, rem prices are higher than rare beauty's and their quality is not that good
It’s affordable, but whether that is still worth it it’s the question
💙💙💙

rem beauty is a beautiful makeup line that might not be for everyone but that doesn't mean its a flop.
