Cambridge is a city in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, and part of the Boston metropolitan area as a major suburb of Boston. As of July 2019, it was the fifth most populous city in the state, behind Boston, Worcester, Springfield, and Lowell. According to the 2010 Census, the city's population was 105,162. It is one of two de jure county seats of Middlesex County, although the county's government was abolished in 1997. Situated directly north of Boston, across the Charles River, it was named in honor of the University of Cambridge in England, once also an important center of the Puritan theology embraced by the town's founders.
Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Lesley University, and Hult International Business School are in Cambridge, as was Radcliffe College before it merged with Harvard. Kendall Square in Cambridge has been called "the most innovative square mile on the planet" owing to the high concentration of successful startups that have emerged in the vicinity of the square since 2010.

@@weicitytour I really need help I grew up in Texas and Massachusetts is very different its very cold on the streets and I do have Autism which makes it difficult to just work anywhere.
Where did you move to?
I lived in Cambridge about 30 years ago and was recently on the North Shore, so I decided to do a quick drive through the area on my way out of Mass. I didn't realize how much I missed it until I was there again. I plan on going back and spending some time there, as I love this city.

Thank you for a tour of my home city. I was born at Cambridge city, Graduated Longfellow and Ridge. Later Northeastern and Suffolk. I had no landmarks till you came to the Post Office and City hall on Mass Ave. My father ran the drug store for Dr Brush at 3 Bigelow and her owed 48 Bigelow where we lived.
I haven't been to Cambridge in years. I honestly don't recognize much in this video. I notice alot of new buildings have gone up through the years.

I went there last weekend for a concert in Boston. MY GOD I FELL IN LOVE!!!
After serving my hitch in the Navy from '69- '73 and Vietnam, I moved out of Massachusetts and never returned. It's been over 55 years now since I left, this was a great road trip, but it might as well have been Cambridge England for all I recognized. I used to take the bus to my job in Allston every day up and down this very road. I lived in Jefferson Park, AKA "the projects", went to M.E. Fitzgerald school there too.

Great video of my hometown!! I just wish you would've covered my favorite parts. The Fresh Pond area and Alewife and the Belmont line. There's a little nature reserve up near there called Black's Nook. It's very beautiful and peaceful and I enjoy walking there on rainy days. The Mount Auburn area is really nice as well.

1' we across the bridge in the back bay / south end area call it = lamebridge , 2' theirs no downtown area of cambridge , you have mass ave , harvard sq , central sq , the city hall and innman sq , the closest to a downtown would be in east cambridge near the old courthouse

So Cambridge doesn't have a "downtown" so the title is a little misleading. The tour was basically Harvard Sq, Central Sq, Kendall Sq, a little Porter Sq then back to Harvard. You even happen to capture a few of my properties : ). At any rate cool video but as much as folks are trying to make "downtown" Cambridge a thing....it simply doesn't exist.
Every city has a downtown. No matter how big, small, spread out, it will have one by default. So yes, downtown Cambridge does exist, but it may not be commonly referred to as such. For me personally, I definitely refer to some of these areas in the video as downtown Cambridge. :)

Doesn’t matter if you were born and raised there (I didn’t ask anyways), that doesn’t mean you can’t be wrong. Cities will most likely have a downtown, especially in MA. That’s common sense and one of the whole points to a city. You have to be completely dense or ignorant not to understand that.
As a Bostonian, our downtown is pretty big in comparison so of course, Cambridge’s will look different. Just because YOU don’t want to acknowledge it, doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist. I’m not here to school you on anything lol. Stop getting defensive and chill tf out. I said what I said, you won’t change my opinion.👍🏾

This would have been much better if you had done the tour on bicycle. Sitting in traffic and half the view being blocked by cars isn't that great of an experience.
I'd love to see you do more tours on bicycle, as that's the best way to explore a city, and gives the viewer a much better view since there aren't any large obstructions in the way.

This!!!! I just had to explain that to someone who was challenging this. Cambridge does not have a downtown. It's new people who are coming into the city and they don't know what they are talking about.
