I just bought a modern 100ml last year and it's fantastic. I have a late 90's bottle and TBH I actually prefer the new one. Nice seeing you doing videos again.
I sniffed a 99 bottle and was mezmerized! I was looking for a successful clone since so many said that new batches are much worse (riders of the lost scent). But your review got me the confidence to just buy a newer batch and enjoy it.
Fahrenheit used to be my signature scent and still one of my all time favorite scents. In comparing my mini vintage to a 2019 batch, I definitely get more gasoline sweetness in the current formulation. Great comparisons video.👍
Rudy!!! Looking good there! One of the all time greats. I always have a bottle in my collection. Nothing wrong with the current version as you say. I’m currently really into the cologne version too. 👍🏼😀
The only man that made it clear, finally ffs! Vintage to 2000s - petrol 2000 a 2012is - more violets, bare trace of petrol smell 2012ish - today - petrol/rubber dominant again.
I’ve never smelt a vintage batch of Fahrenheit I’m not the biggest fan of current batches tho ~ Fahrenheit Parfum now is a whole other story that one is one of my favorites. 🔥🔥
Funny because the Parfum version is one of the worst things I ever smelled from a designer. VERY screechy combination of "leather" and florals. Love the vintage and modern EDT though.
I have a 10mL splash pre-1991, and it’s beautiful. Good to know I can still get a modern one to enjoy and save my old one lol. Great info, thanks Rudy!
I have the late 80s too. The gassy 'petrol' in the vintage is so vapor heavy it sort of hits the nose like menthol for a minute or so before it settles into a light green gasoline musk. Its fairly light in a way- almost like it would be good for breezy summer nights. Its not heavy, dark, animalic, nor sweet. Its just rich and fresh. As much as I love all 80s scents- something seems to be missing from this dna. Its so unique I cant really think of anything I would use it for nowadays. I guess you could say it was the Aventus in the 80s given the musky base. I much prefer Polo green, Drakkar, and cool water to this one but it is undeniably a classic.
I've been hunting for a good Fahrenheit batch for a while now. Tried a modern one, a early 2000's and a 1996 one. I finally got the '89 batch and I think my soul left my body. I find the 89 a lot more textured in the base and the top is a lot more defined.
Yes, that’s how I felt with my 89. Try batches around 2020. Fahrenheit formula was fixed by Demachy around 2012. Thinking it was 2010 when LVMH wanted to go in-house with the fragrance formulas
@@timetomuskup2 I did try a 2021 batch and it's clearly still Fahrenheit but I can't smell it after 2-3 hours. I think I might be going noseblind to some of the modern ingredients. The 89 I can smell for a full 8-10 hours.
@@perroli probably, but you gotta do whatever makes you happier. Anooj has 10ml 89 minis. For 40cad. A little pricey, but they’re really fresh and that’s the about rate for vintage Fahrenheit unfortunately
Nice catch, congrats. When it comes to vintage, yes the ingredients may be of a different caliber. What, would make me pay that premium/over priced..is the age. I'm mostly paying for the time it's been sitting and binding.
...ok, mine are 2005 and 2017 (that I've opened)..I can say, that I enjoy the 2017 more....It is less sharp, better blended and dare I say more longevity. I am thinking about buying an OG mini ... '89...You, Dawg.
You see. I think the 2000 to 2010 batches were the bad ones. LVMH went in-house with all formulas and Demachy saved Fahrenheit. Grab a mini, but don’t spend anymore money on vintages. Modern are fantastic
Thanks for doing this, loved it when it was first released, wore it to hell bottle after bottle. Had an abrupt halt due to smelling the remnants of it in the evacuated stomach contents of young Saudi males! Thinking it was alcohol they would drink it!! Not a good story I know, but no Nurse in the hospital would touch me wearing it. Came back to love of fragrances during lockdown to find many I used to wear are highly regarded. Anyway time to return to Fahrenheit and have more pleasant memories! 😂
Damnit! Oh well I’ll keep my vintage that I paid too much for and grab a new 6.8 bottle to wear heavily. Fahrenheit is a top 10 of all time for me. Another great vid Rudy keep ‘‘em comin
The only place to really find vintage like this is eBay. Save Fahrenheit as a search and watch any new bottles that get listed. You can also go to enchanteperfumes.com The owner has a WhatsApp number on the website. His name is anooj. He has fresh 88 10ml minis of dior Fahrenheit for 40 cad. Which is about $32, but shipping is $20. Per ml cost will almost be the same if you bought a 50ml or 100ml from eBay. If you have any questions you can message me on Instagram at timetomuskup2 Good luck!
So the 100ml bottle was from eBay. There’s a vintage fragrance store in Canada that might have 1988 10ml minis. He was charging $40 at the time. EnchantePerfumes.com. You can send him a message on WhatsApp and ask him. His number and info is in the description box.
I found one from 1989 but I’m scared of buying it and then ends up being expired or something..it is sealed all around the box as well…what you think is it a risk?
It's good that it's comparable to the original. Sadly, the Dior Addict (silver band at the cap now) isn't comparable. I'd love a vintage bottle of that. Enjoy your cigar and the Fahrenheit, Rudy. 😘
That’s a shame. Unfortunately not all fragrances have been saved. Regardless, many fragrances to choose from and enjoy. Thanks for watching, heather. 😊
Just stay away from 2000 to like 2012. Demachy did a great job when he reformulated it. Grab the modern stuff. 2018 2019 2020 2021 Vintage prices are out of control and condition of the juice can never be guaranteed.
@@timetomuskup2 I do have a modern one but the problem with it is that the petrol note is not at all what I remember. questionable longetivity too, but I can live with that. The petrol note I'm looking for is that sharp dirty macho Rated-R one with almost a taste of "cucumber" almost. New one is like a safe child's version that tames it down with candy sweet notes further down the progression just to behave.

Thank, Mike. I’ve heard from a couple of people already that they prefer the modern to a older bottle. Thanks for watching
I would love to get my hands on a vintage bottle

I felt the same way. Couldn’t help but get lost in the scent. Think you’ll do just fine with a modern bottle. Hope you enjoy it
This is extremely helpful. Thank you, great video

I remember my first bottle in 89 and my first thought when i smelled it was petrol fire & burning rubber..those old designers eh amazing
It’s something else and still Is.
First, nice backdrop. Second, surprisingly I have yet to smell Fahrenheit edt. I've only smelled the le parfum.
You gotta try it when you’re at a store.
I asked for more rudy and here we are with added hounds
that was me...I was bitchin' about "no dawgs" in any performance....
