Indeed, she is!!! I wish I was a part of her family. They always have fun, they eat together, play together and so much more..... and the love... need I say more?!
i was literally crying forcing myself to self learn my 3rd year engineering degree courses...then she popped up and i just become really happy and plus she made my dream milk bar cake as well!!!! im so blessed today
Oh no!! All that hard work! I would have taken the layers that didn't hit the floor....and re-iced it. Does anyone else feel like it's just you and Grace in her kitchen? Best friends just hanging out.... I certainly do!
my boyfriend and i do rose, bud, and thorn before bed every night. we say a good thing, a bad thing, and one thing we're excited for the next day. it helps us appreciate the little things in the day
That’s so sweet ❤️ I’m definitely trying this tonight! Btw if you’re looking for something to watch, I have a channel as well with videos from London ☺️
Just so you know your videos are so raw and perfect! I don’t think I have ever missed a video. You are honestly an inspiration to so many people! I hope you are surviving lockdown! Have a great week!
When you dropped that cake, I actually said, "oh no, baby..." I felt that pain as well. I'm glad it tasted delicious and I love your emotions. Happy half birthday!!
When we were younger we would try and remember each other’s half birthdays in my family too, I love that you are celebrating yours! Definitely agree that we need to find and focus on the good things at the moment 😊
I definitely agree! We should still try and find new and exciting things to do every day even though we’re all staying home❤️ Btw if you’re looking for something to watch, I have a channel as well with videos from London ☺️
GRACEEE i have a vid idea!!! would love to see you buy all the foods and snacks etc you ever wanted to try from the store, like the olive and snack platter you once talked about at Tesco's ! Anyway love you thanks for keeping me sane the last 4 years
aaa I bought this cake for my little brother's birthday while we were on holiday in Toronto, it was so good but I don't think my parents appreciated quite how iconic a cake they were eating. i love the crumb topping!
It might be your half birthday but this video is a GIFT for all of us!! 🥰 think we can all agree that Grace’s videos are THE BEST start to the week and mid-week highlight 🙌🏼
sooo i had a hole day panic attack 'session' and this cinematographic wonder just helped me sooooooooo much! I'm sorry Grack, but particulary the last part has cured my brain a little. Thank you
My son's birthday is Dec 15th, so we started celebrating his half birthday due to his siblings birthdays all being in the summer. We didn't want him to be shortchanged! Happy Half Birthday!!!
I'm American but I use frosting and icing, I say frosting for a thick fluffy layer, and icing for thin glazes and the decorative icing lke flowers and lettering.
UK sprinkles are made from white icing then the outside is coloured where as the American style is made from coloured fondant which is cut and is then dried out when buying them make sure their the flat circles not the little balls (hundreds and thousands) or the long skinny sprinkles. If you can’t find any you can just make them from fondant 😊 hope this helps, love tour video ❤️
Happy half birthday Grack! Not ruined but a lovely cake! True it fell but at least you got to make it and a great video that makes us happy. Good on you Grackle! 💚
You can also get the cake in DC and Chicago I believe. It’s from Milk, she (Christina Tosey) started under momufuko but branched out and created her own brand. You must visit if you ever get the chance. They don’t have many vegan options but I do love their cornbread cookies with some strawberry preserves on top.
About the frosting vs icing thing, in my US experience those are two different things. Frosting is thicker like typical cake frosting (buttercream, cream cheese frosting, etc.) and icing is thinner (royal icing, powdered sugar mixed with milk, etc.) so we definitely use both words!
My good friend's bday is Christmas Eve so I threw him a surprise half birthday party in June about 10 years ago...now it's a tradition that we always celebrate on his half instead of "real" bday :)
That’s what I hope she did!!😂 I’d have honestly cried 😅 Btw if you’re looking for something to watch, I have a channel as well with videos from London ☺️
I remember watching Big Cook Little Cook as a child. Apparently, my mum wrote down a recipe for chocolate and prune cake which we actually made. I have been told that it just tasted like chocolate cake and that you could not taste the prunes.
this was uploaded on my legit birthday (not a fun one lol) and i feel seen. Living vicariously through you. And may inspire me to try to make a half birthday a thing for myself and others
My sister literally spend all of quarantine dreaming of buying this cake. And it could be delivered to us, but she didn't want to spend the money. So this woman whos only baked about thrice in her life made a funfetti boxed mix cake and was on top of the world. Skip forward 6 months, and I made sure to get it for her full birthday!
Hi Grace, your videos have been popping up as 'recommended' on my youtube for ages now and I finally watched one of your videos the other week and I am so delighted that I did, you are such a ray of sunshine and positivity during these difficult times :) Loving your videos, they are making this lockdown in Ireland a little easier, thank you :)
In America frosting and icing are two separate things. In a grocery store, frosting is in the little “tubs” but icing is in the little tubes and is kind of shiny and used for decoration.
I love that you are so outgoing and boisterous etc like your dad, your sister seems a bit more subdued and serious like your mom. I love it when you do videos with your dad! Please do more!
I'm sorry Grace but I am in actual tears of laughter watching you drop that cake (I know, I'm a terrible person but that is EXACTLY what I needed today!)
I just had the Momofuku Milk Bar cookbook checked out of my library. It was really inspiring! I think that I might have to purchase it, and the cake stuff that I need to make their cakes.
Icing and frosting are two different things! Icing is thinner (usually just confectionery sugar and milk) and used for bundt cakes or danishes while frosting is thicker with more/different ingredients and used for cakes
I recently made my first ever funfetti cake and because I live in the UK, I couldn't find the right sprinkles, anywhere!! I ended up ordering them off of amazon. They were quite cheap and definitely worth it. I decided to make a minimalist cake and it turned out so pretty! :)
Thank you for being so sweet, kind, and open hearted! Also, I love that you never act like you know everything and ask questions of your viewers. If you are interested in the intersection between English and American cultures, you might check out Lawrence Brown’s channel: Lost In The Pond, he has a lot of insights into British vs American vocabulary and experiences as an Englishman living in the states with his American wife!
Have you been watching Junior Bake Off? I'd love to see you react to/judge their bakes. Especially the show stoppers. You could even make your own versions of what you would create if given the show stopped guidance. 🙂 Also, happy half birthday! 🎉
Happy Half Birthday !!!!!! I have an idea for a video you could recreate classic supermarket cakes like Colin the Caterpillar, I'm not sure if anyone has done this but I thought it was a good idea !!!
You're so right, Grace. One of my favourite walks goes past 2 churches. Today I heard lots of sweet blackbirds. Blackbirds are one of my favourite birds. Small things and all that🤗👍
I attempted a confetti cake for my brothers birthday in August... when I saw Grace was using normal sprinkles like I did, I was deeply saddened. I realised it won’t come out the way she wanted right then 😢 apparently you need a specific type American sprinkles that don’t melt in the batter I’m sure it tastes lovely anyway ❤️
Grackle making my life better one vlog at a time 🎉 Edit: okay but actually I need to bring out my inner Grack every day. Like, my life would be SO MUCH HAPPIER if I channeled her vibe.

Rachel's fashion plus Monica's baking plus Phoebe's optimism all rolled into one but better.
spot on😂
Grace has literally got all the best traits of the three!
Best comment I've ever read

Wait. You thought that was real? Come on.
I'd probably just cut odd the bit of the cake that touched the floor. So, I'd have 2 1/2 layers.

omg can we normalize celebrating half birthdays?! One day a year is just not enough to celebrate yourself HAHAHAH
RIGHT
Agreed! I give my son a special day for his half birthday. He gets a special cupcake a little gift and a balloon. It makes him very happy.

I would take out the first layer and then de-icing it 😭😂
