Capaldi's speech is perhaps the finest of the speeches in recent memory. Each Doctor has their moments such as there are evils in the Universe and they must be fought and the No to the Daleks but this one? It shows the pain of living with both the turmoil and the heartbreak of knowing you survived a war and living with the atrocities of a past life but not yet being able to atone for them.

I screamed so hard when I saw her the in next time trailer. I really wished they never showed her tho and waited for the episode! I’m a bit bummed she never said her full name Kate Lethbridge Stewart, and just Kate Steward… she only had about 6 Lines too which in other episodes she has a decent part. But I’m so happy she’s back and hope she’s back in the specials!
If I'm remembering correctly, Kate has always referred to herself as Kate Stewart. The reason being she didn't want people to think she got where she was in UNIT simply because she's the Brigadier's daughter.
Kate was criminally underused in Survivors of the Flux. That better be because she’s a powerhouse ready to resurrect UNIT in The Vanquishers. Alas, they gave her little to no screentime and her and the Doctor’s encounters were not what I was expecting after she’s been off our screens since Series 9.
Remember though that each episode is a chapter as opposed to an episode. Next week we'll essentially all be watching a six hour Doctor Who story, and I can't wait to see what Kate has up Osgood's sleeves.
I’m going to miss Kate, the Osgood sisters, and UNIT. Not only were they some of the funnest bits, but they were what we had left of the Brig and a major part of Earth’s defense. Dang it, Chibs…

Kate is Nu Who’s brigadier. Not a full time companion, but someone the Doctor would trust without any hesitation.
By far my favourite moment is when Kate makes Amy open the door to a cube playing The Chicken Dance song.
Definitely a top-tier Doctor Who character of all time. I hope they never let her go.
