As a teaching pro I find SwingVision invaluable when it comes to providing my students with a comprehensive evaluation of their hitting sessions whether it be a match evaluation or a practice session. It also gives me an objective tool to prepare training sessions that are more productive and specifically tailored to the needs of the student. Utilizing SwingVision along with other analytical tools like Dartfish provides me with a total package of tools for teaching correction and match analysis. It's a must have. Great Product.
Hey Larry - Thank you for sharing your insights on SwingVision. It's great to hear how helpful its been in providing tailored training sessions for your students. I’m very interested in learning more about how you integrate SwingVision with other analytical tools like Dartfish. Would you be open to jumping on a call to discuss this further and perhaps give a small demo of how you use these tools in your teaching?
Hi Nikhil - great overview. I'm curious about the "Smart Insights" tab. It would be great if the app could automatically surface things for you that are important, perhaps by comparing your stats to the SwingVision community, or to a "composite player" at a level above. For example, it could give you a practicing to do list: "you tend to hit cross-court backhands into the net" etc.
Thanks for the feedback! We are planning to add something similar in 2024 - allowing users to compare their strengths and weaknesses to players at the level above.
I was thinking about getting this app until I've seen this video. I thought it would be good enough to sort out contentious calls, but it seems very inaccurate. Just watch the guy serves at 1:11 and see where the ball lands, then the next shot of the same guy at 1:14, where that lands. The 2 touch down points are about a meter apart in the horizontal direction, yet the display on the top right shows almost identical positions for these two bounce positions. I thought it would be precise enough on my serve practice sessions, but I guess I wait a bit longer.
Hi! This video is a year old and was created using a video recorded more than a year prior to that - the shot tracking has improved immensely since then, especially when it comes to close line calls. We’d recommend giving the app a shot with a free trial to see for yourself!
Still waiting for this on PC. Are there custom color themes, to perhaps make it flow with a club website for example. Love this product, pity I'm a PC user.
if you're a PC user, does that mean you can't import? I have an iPhone but only a PC (no MacOS) and I transfer my GoPro footage to my computer using an SD card, so I have no clue how I'd get the footage onto SwingVision. Their customer service doesn't even understand my question so I'm not confident it can be done 😅
In the ball machine setting, the app shows the ball speed and heat map, but when I export the video, no speed or heat map is shown when viewing in a browser. Am I doing something wrong?
This is through a beta feature called Autoscoring which we've unlocked for Pro subscribers upon request. We plan to release this feature for all Pro users later this Summer. Simply enter the final score, select the first point when prompted, and the app takes care of the rest. If you'd like access, please send us an email at support@swing.tennis!
2nd question, in our club, it’s requested that we all wear white when playing. - Will the app be able to recognize who’s who? - Will the app take into consideration when we swap sides?
The app takes into consideration when you change sides! As for player identification, it asks you to tag some images after the recording is over. More images may be shown if everyone is wearing the same colors.
Hey SwingVision, like many, when I play indoor tennis under an inflated dome so there are no fences where I could attach a phone. What would be your recommendation there for recording?
How do you get speeds to become more accurate? Is it a difference in mounting tripod versus top of fence? My speeds are so far off that they are totally useless. I hit a backhand drop shot that showed up as a 90mph backhand. My serve, which has been clocked at 115 showed up as 46mph and never exceeded 80 on video. Also, I do not have the point keeping system on mine at all. I am trying to find reasons to pay for this with a full membership but its so far off and does not perform half the things you guys promise. Also, I thought I saw shot replay for challenges somewhere. How do we access that feature?
We do recommend using a mount sitting at the top of the fence for optimal accuracy. While there is potential for shot speed outliers, with optimal setup our testing shows speeds have a 10% margin of error. The way we calculate shot speed is the average speed of the ball from hit to bounce, which is on average roughly 20% slower than a radar gun which measures initial trajectory off the racquet. Both the Autoscoring and Line Challenge features are exclusive to Pro subscribers. This guide walks through using Line Challenges: swing.tennis/guides/challenge-line-calls If you'd like to test these features out before committing to a paid subscription, you can start a free Pro trial on our website! swing.tennis/
@@SwingVisionApp Thank you for the reply and with the line challenge and scoring, I completely understand that. Very good add ons with my only concern being, if the shot tracker and speed are that far off then how accurate can the rest of the info be? I re-watched some footage last night and on several serves the app showed my second serve being significantly faster than my first serve. I will try the fence mount and hope it works, but I do not have Apple watch and will not be buying one for just this app. Setting up range is very difficult. But I will run a review including my own footage afterwards.
@@johntrigg2638 speeds are the hardest thing to track from this angle. Placement is significantly more accurate, with in/out accuracy surpassing the human eye on close calls. In the end, if you are analyzing your match, looking at averages such as avg shot speed or percent of shots beyond the service box are very reliable. Ultimately, though, you need to place the phone on top of the fence as the AI is optimized for that angle. The vast majority of our customers use this, and they set up with an Apple Watch, which makes the process really easy.
I just cannot mess with keeping score on an Apple Watch during a tournament match. I have the beta Autoscoring feature and I still get inconsistent results and the detail stats are not generated. Very frustrating when you go through the ritual to set it up and feel like you are doing everything right, and you get a incomplete result

@@SwingVisionApp thanks for the response. Another query. The app incorrectly counted a point which never was there. So I have extra point that is now surplus. How do I remove that point?
I don't understand why the app recognize the exact opposite like when i hit a forehand it says backhand amd when i hit a backhand it says forehand, also the speed seems way off. My setup is a tripod mount and no apple watch
You may need to change your handedness in your profile settings as the app determines FH/BH based on that. Speeds will be less accurate when using a tripod compared to the recommended Swing Stick.
Hi! While SwingVision allows you to import and analyze videos recorded outside of the app (e.g., GoPro, Android), we strongly suggest using an iOS device to experience the power of the real-time analysis. This way, the moment you take your phone down and finish recording, you'll be able to access statistics and video highlights for your session immediately :)
