Best decision I’ve made too! The pills would make nauseous all day everyday regardless of the brand and I tried the IUD which ended up flipping upside down and having the cords wrapped around it..one of the worst pains of my life, I ended up having it surgically removed

I just turned 38 and have been on birth control, pretty much since I was 17. Ive been debating children until just recently and was wondering when I should start trying. I’m in a serious relationship, we bought a house together so my next question was if I want to be married first. But I also feel there is no more time to waste and should start now. I’m supposed to start my new pack tonight and now feel it was meant to be that I saw this video. Thank you. I’m scared but also excited for what’s to come 😬 love you girl!! ❤️

I would get another gynecologist. I have experience the same dismissal of my concerns on the birth control before, whenever I had my yearly checkup it was like my dr couldn't wait to move on to the next patient, basically made me feel like what I am going through had no link to the pill. Most recently I met with a new dr and she is awesome our first meeting she took me into her office and told me to have a sit because she wanted to get to know me, and know about questions or concerns that I may have. It felt like I was in therapy. I hope you find a better doctor.

After 10 years of being on hormonal birth control (the pill, the shot and an IUD) I finally did the same and went all natural tracking my cycles. It’s been so freeing and empowering as a woman to truly understand your body and cycle. I highly suggest the book “Taking Charge of Your Fertility” to anyone thinking about getting off of hormonal contraceptives. Also, so glad to see you promoting Alani Nu Balance as that’s what helped me regulate my cycles! I’m now trying to get pregnant so all this information I knew about my cycle has been helpful in trying to conceive. I’m emotional as hell a week before my period and I get breakouts. You’ve been on the pill for so long your body is use to it. So going off of it makes you break out coz your hormones are back to normal but your body’s not use to it. Sucks you have to go back on an artificial drug that’s hormone altering just to avoid pimples. Shows how much your body is dependant on it. It’s sad

The main side effect I had & say hundreds of reviews about was mood swings/ anxiety/ depression. I struggled with all 3 but the anxiety & depression was mostly from losing my husband. It completely destroyed my gut I couldn’t eat ANYTHING, I lost all libido, was extremely emotional and anxious. It was horrible. I was on BC for 10 years, my initial purpose was to help the severity of my cramps and heavy cycle. It definitely helped significantly, but my BP was always high on it. That was the only drawback of the pill. I’m 34 now and since I’ve been off it I haven’t experienced those severe cramps and the heaviness of my cycle is not as heavy. I just don’t see any need to be on it anymore. Since going off BC I had my period again within 10 days after it ending. I love that Balance product, I use the powder formula. I didn’t take it for a few weeks and developed cystic acne on my chin and got one on my eyebrow that would not go away.

I already feel so much better, more energy and sleeping better. I am seeing a naturopath to help me with with hormones and preventing acne etc. My digestion and bloating has been terrible for years. I felt like an unmotivated blimp and was gaining weight as I got older. Not even in a relationship, I was just too scared to come off! I have learnt so much about the female body and my health! Thank you for making and sharing this video. I have a lot of chronic health issues, and was also out on the BC pill in 2005 at age 17 (35 now) after having hypothalamic amenorrhea due to anorexia.
I was on the traditional 3 weeks on, 1 week placebo monthly pill pack until 2015, at which point I was put on the 90-day pill pack and also told to exclude the placebo week, so I haven’t actually had a cycle for 9 years.
I’m just now preparing to get off of it because being able to try to conceive a child is my number one goal for recording from this ED that is still ruining my life 20+ years after it started, and my emotions are already all over the place due to all of that, but at this point I need to just make the jump and do it. I agree with you getting off BC 100%!! I was on it for about 5 years, I'm 43 now. I was on it for period reasons, but after awhile, I was getting really bad migraines. I told my doctor who of course said there is no correlation between migraines and the pill. How could there not be, it is literally all hormones... so I got off the pill, and my migraines stopped. I think you are absolutely right in saying doctors are so quick to write prescriptions. They are. You have to be your own advocate!! Do the research. It's your body, and everyone reacts differently!

I was only on it for a few years but decided to get off of it (been off for a little over a year now) and I feel sooo much better! I struggle with a bit of facial acne now & have gained 20 pounds since being off BUT mentally & emotionally I feel sooo much better. I’ll take the acne & weight gain over being anxious, depressed & moody any day!

I have sensitive and prone to bleeding gums right before and couple days on my period. Makes sense that was something happening to you as a side effect from getting off the pill. Your body learning to regulate its hormones again. And our hormones actually affect the gums because once I looked it up since I noticed this in my gums on my period.

Wish more people were vocal about what happened to them while on BC. I think it is so bad for your body, and you don’t even know until you personally experience it. Doctors will brush this off no matter how many people complain because some of them get kickback for prescribing certain brands.

👏🏽 recently did the same thing and found out so so much that no one ever mentioned. Scary stuff they don’t tell you. Good for you lady and happy to see others doing their own research
