I modded my bike with three Black and Decker 20v lithium batteries. It flies but doesn’t hold a charge for very long
Thank you for doing this video! Saved me a ton of time troubleshooting!
I just picked up an old mx500 for 20 bucks off offer up that has been sitting for years. I am not that handy but willing to learn and have a father in law that will help a little. I was wondering if you had any tips on where to start. She is pretty beat up. I didn't want to spend a bunch in batteries and find out something major needs replacing. Any info would be appreciated! 👍
When your fuse blew, were you able to still charge while plugged in. But when unplugged it didn’t hold? I have similar issue. Mine will charge while plugged in, but once I unplug. Nothing. Also, while plugged in throttle engages but wheels don’t move. Any ideas?
When you did your 48v mod upgrade the link for the charger in description did not work? Could you tell me what charger you got and what xrl tip you soldered on it?
Why would I keep blowing that fuse for the battery though . I'm thinking it's just a bad controller cuz everything is functioning properly.
Searched your videos... could not find an update with the LiFPo battery swap. did you do it?
My bike was cutting out here or there so when I had to change the chain tensior I looked at the battery connections , I saw one was a little loose. I then hot glued gun all the connection and it ran great. I then charged it over night. The next morning I saw the battery charger was green and when I disconnected it the light still remained green. I then go to switch on the bike and I get nothing. I checked the 3 fuses and they look fine. I might change all of them anyway just to see but I don't think that is the problem. The one thing I notice when I plug in the charger with power on the lights for the battery come on. Is my charger bad and maybe blew the speed controller? I am clueless on what is going on , any ideas?
We are having the same issues, any luck on a fix?
So i have a mx500 i have replaced the battery's and the fuses my charger says fully charged and i still can not get the bike to run would i have a controller issue?
Can you wash these bikes? Will it short anything out and cause it not to run? Thanks.
I'd be careful try hand washing the wheels etc without splashing into the battery area or the controller. Or you can take a damp towel and wipe down.
How do i hook s jumper cable to the 3 batterys
mine dosent have a charger hole or a on and off switch
Just blew fuse for 2nd or 3rd time with similar setup (same controller, motor). Any way to prevent it? It’s a PITA to remove all the covers. Wondering if its related to the speed setting or maybe the battery level? I am using LiFePO4 batteries and they seem to have no issue supplying the requested current.. and then some
Did you fix it?
@@cjvalverde7660 Last time it was ridden I popped a fuse. After replacing that fuse w a 35 amp (maybe 40) everything seemed good to go. However, due to other circumstances I wasn’t actually able to ride. I have since decided to tear down all my lifepo4 batteries and rework them all with a new single 48v 40A 16s BMS. The current 12v packs are actually 8 cells w a 15A BMS (if I remember correctly) so the new BMS should not only keep the cells better balanced but actually be able to properly provided the necessary current draw. 1800 watts at 48v is 38.5A, hopefully the cells can keep up
So I have a mx500 that was stripped so it was just the frame seat and motor 36v so I bought a new throttle speed controller so when I wired the 3 battery’s I did not use any fuses because I didn’t have any I charge the battery’s with a separate charger fully charged but when I try to use the mx500 the throttle shows the low light on and the power light on and when I twist it nothing happens and the battery’s are not low sense I charged them can anyone help me out?
I just replaced batteries and after it drained the charger showed green like as if it’s full
How can I get a controller
Where can I get the 30 amp fuse?
Amazon is the best place here is the link for the fuses I bought: amzn.to/3vBZIrT
Keep up the good work!
Thank you:) have a great day:)
@@TipsNNTricks I have the same bike mx650 the motor is keep jamming like it’s going hybrid
Removable battery pack would be awesome
It would add to the price of buying one, but a lithium ion battery would be so cool, but the prices of a lithium pack need to come down:)
You wouldn't know where to find a whole new front wheel and tire I checked everywhere
Found the front tire on eBay ebay.to/2T4i6TV you can probably get the inter tube as well.
It looks like the rim is sold out on eBay and Amazon right now, wow and yeah your right the rim is sold out everywhere. I'd continue to look on eBay sometimes folks label it wrong.
Mines is excepting charge it’s not clicking but it won’t run
I have a MX350 that my 4 year old rises all the time. The light is on but it got dark out. That 30amp fuse. Will the ON/OFF light still be lit if the fuse is bad? Because my sons bike the light is on but when I took it off the charger this morning it had no power at all and no clicking. And the charger light was green saying it was ready to go.
Did you find out what was wrong? Same thing happened to my sons
