- Video Games Orchestra (VGO) with Distant Worlds Music from Final Fantasy performing "Dancing Mad" from FF VI @ Boston Symphony Hall in Boston, MA on 3-10-12
Best FF villain
Best FF final boss theme
Sephiroth ain't got shit on the OG (Original Genocidist)
Indeed.
Exdeath > Kefka, he controls the power of the void.
Uchiha Madara in terms of power, exdeath wins. No doubt. But Kefka has more personality than Exdeath. They are both great for different reasons though
Uchiha Madara Just because they're form different worlds. If Kefka was present, Exdeath would get nothing :D
+Elitius Oratore The true OG in the series is Zemus.
I gotta admit i prefer Kefka as the he was pictured in 16 bit and not the overly clownish appearance he've had later on.
That final movement was pulled off about as good as you can do it in a live orchestra. Well done!
+cloudparter I love how the trumpet stood out at the climax. That just sounds like the way Uematsu envisioned it.
12:10 them horns are bliss
That choir was incredible.
Unbelievable! I would kill to see these guys live. Amazing sound quality on this upload too.
The vocals, especially in the first part, made my jaw drop. This is an amazing orchestra!
The choir was amazing too! Great performance from everyone!
I enjoy the fact that the first two of the four bars during movement number 4 were a sort of crashing and rhythmic beating rather than the same thing repeated four times. It makes the buildup to the song incredibly worthwhile, as well as giving the song diversity. It's a small thing, really, but something that truly adds to the song. The overall rhythm of the song was done to near perfection, too. One theme is never the same despite being repeated once or twice. Every part of the way they performed this piece was wonderful. Thanks for sharing this, Pixyl, and thanks to VGO Distant Worlds for this gorgeous performance~!
This is easily my favorite orchestral remix of Dancing Mad. The final tier, especially was amazingly done.
This was so amazing to hear live! The entire concert was fantastic!
The scope of this song is so amazing. epic. simply epic
Best FF ever!
Agreed, my friend. :)
The best rendition of any musical piece I've ever heard. Absolutely stunning.
Just love how the mood changes
Final Fantast VI is my all time favorite game and the music from it is amazing! This performance gave me goose-bumps it was so awesome! Thanks for the upload!
They are absolutely incredible! I can only imagine how much preparation it must take to play the instruments that perfectly! They're all great at what they do, and I am in shock that a system like the Super Nintendo has had songs as memorable as Dancing Mad
Holy crap i got goosebumps
+alfazeroneko Yeah me to, almost instantly. This was my favorite Final Fantasy game. A HD complete remake would be awesome!
Oh my lord, would that be insane. You just gave me goosebumps when I think about it.
I just got a ticket for the "final symphony" in Wuppertal, Germany. I hope they will play this song. Nobuo Uematsu will also be there ^^. so excited!
This is GREAT!!!
I wish they had done this one when I went to Distant Worlds. Hopefully, I'll catch the next one soon(post COVID)
Simply the best rendition of Dancing Mad that i have ever heard. You can literally feel the terror and menace that Kefka really is. VGO is really an outstanding orchestra, so is Distant Worlds.
Great props for them and, of course, Nobuo Uematsu :)
I really hope to see each one of those orchestras here on South America anytime soon!
WOW No sé qué decir, siento como si cualquier halago que diga le quedara corto, sólo diré que es perfecto. ♥♥♥♥
Can we please get some official audio of this version
This Version has the best tier 4 no competition at all
Awesome job guys!! I love the videos in the background too! Wish i had been there in person to witness such a fine performance! ^-^
Dancing mad(妖星乱舞)って言った時の会場の歓声ww
I've been to Penn State football games, standup comedy festivals and 5 Wrestlemanias. None of those compared to being in this crowd on this night, and this performance of Dancing Mad is the greatest piece of live music I've ever heard in my entire life. The VGO went toe-to-toe with, and by some accounts, were even better than the other orchestras that have performed this music. I can't wait to play through FFVI again.
Something was a bit off about the organ (at least i think it was) it was too soft at parts and didn't sound right though the wonderful choir made up for the organ's imperfections, the choir was amazing
This is such an amazing performance of this song.. I have heard em all on youtube, and this is the best one yet!
Truly a musical masterpiece. Greatest video game song ever perhaps? It's an extremely strong contender at least.
09:03 sounds like a Musical Disorder, but gets entire logic. Amazing.
Only true JRPG fans know how important Dancing Mad is to the music of Final Fantasy.
11.30 was fantastic - my fav part of the song :) brought a tear to my eye!
wow... i have never in my life heard a more perfect 4th tier of dancing mad than this performance. im a sucker for the epic guitar solo on the black mages version but
those horns on the fourth tier are just....wow
A melhor parte é a do orgão, mas tem que ter a pausa depois da terceira parte... Ninguém consegue fazer a ultima parte?!?!
What version of the game was around 9:30 ? I haven't played this game since I was a kid but I've never seen that.
It's from Dissidia Final Fantasy, the fighting game series.
@@stalydan Thank you!
What!! I had no idea there was a VIDEO GAME ORCHESTRA!!!! So exciting!! :D
@kangle385 It is VGO here! Thank you so much for such a nice comment!!!
What game was the clip from at the end with Terra fighting Kefka? That fighting style looked nothing like I remember FFVI
Gerald Maus Because is the first Game of Dissidia, a fighting games of final fantasy.
I went to this video before the Bearing one I was watching totally ended so that I'd have something better to listen to than Recession Session.
Tbh I like this arrangement a lot! Moreso than Uematsu's in distant worlds. I feel like the usage of instruments is a lot more "final boss"-sounding than the way distant worlds used guitars so liberally (I like guitars, but this is soooo much more preferable)
8:55 oh hell yeah!
This must be the first orchestra that does the Dancing Mad: Final Tier (the actual Kefka last fight music) without modern/electronic instruments.
Too bad i can't find this awesome performance on CDs or MP3s.
Pretty beast.

Around 8:56 it sounded like a jazz remix.... And I liked it!
Not too say that is really a great song to DANCE like MAD! XD
チョコボ肌が止まらない……

maravilloso!
FF Pride!
The Dissidia footage just underscores how far Square has fallen.
5:00 chorus is pretty good.
FF6好きだった
最高だぜ!
超リッキー おもしろいよな ヽ(^。^)丿
...And at least in this video, the villain wins in the end. 3:)
yes VGO ;D
古典の先にある古典。pre-symbolism musickの始まりである。道化こそが王の真実であるとはこのことか。
going to play ff vi again...
妖★星★乱★舞
10:40 11:56 12:10
What difference does it make whether the Orchestra is Japanese or European??
Its the camera.
キター
hear hear!
Sephiroth and Kuja are wimps compared to the great Kefka.
2:07
Chorus should be LOUDER!

1 Person died of epicness before clicking "Like", and, by error, clicked "Dislike"

Holy god, I've never seen something like this in atleast all of the european, german speaking countries. How come people of the USA always have to scream like little kids, especially if you're watching an orchestra live? That's inappropriate
Younger people tend to play video games such as the demographics of the audience would suggest. Young people tend to express their emotions more and speak their minds. You may not find middle aged or elderly people attending an orchestra about video games.
Also, you shouldn't make generalizations about entire nationalities. There are 310+ million of us. We are not all the same.
ShadowAlly
And I find it funny that it doesn't come to your mind that I could be young too; I'm 20 years old and also into videogaming, else I would not be here to watch this video.
I still never have seen such a bad audience anywhere here in central europe, sorry.
Calluth
now don't get me wrong, I am not the most patriotic guy when it comes to defending america, but i absolutely hate it when someone judges an entire fucking country by the actions of few, no matter what country it is it makes me sick to my fucking stomach when it is judged unfairly. On top of that the audience showed no disrespect towards the orchestra. Even though it was definitely not proper orchestra performance etiquette, they showed nothing but love for this amazing performance and orchestra.
By your logic i should be pissed at all of central europe for judging a entire nation unfairly, But i won't do that because not only does it not make a bit of fucking sense, it is also not fair to judge all of Europe for your misguided actions
It seems as though you were trying to represent central Europe in a proper and honorable manner and i can respect having pride for the place you live. but the only thing you managed to do was come of as a ignorant prick
i am not trying to mock you or piss you off
i am simply countering your argument
Calluth Assuming etiquette should be universal everywhere you go, sure I would grant your opinion some validity. But I'm sorry, this is the real world. Etiquette is not universal, neither are morals, sense of style or any other social custom. The laws of physics are not universal in many instances for fucks sake. I will assume that because you are 20 and don't know any better, that you will one day come to realize this.
If you've heard an adult in Central Europe espouse the view you've just espoused, just know that that person, or those people, are as strict and rigid in their ways as you currently are and that they never learned better.
Well, maybe I judged a little bit to harsh, as an orchestra-musician myself. It's just pretty annoying for the musician itself, I atleast, speaking for myself, find it pretty disturbing if someone applauses while we play a piece. Okay, not everyone knows you don't applaud when another piece begins, thats something you can ignore, but while a piece is being played.. meh.
I'm sorry if I stepped on your toes, just please remember that you don't make noise while musicians are on stage and give their best for a piece to sound as fantastic as it could.. which gets disturbed bly clapping and screaming.
you meant the sad part with latin lyrics? the electric guitar RUINED IT...
Wow. whats with all the mistakes. We need a Japanese orchestra to do this properly.
スーファミの安い映像と謎の下手糞なケフカの絵が、本格的なオーケストラと見事にミスマッチ。
Too bad most of the vocals they did for the Distant Worlds stuff was absolute shit.
The pianist is terrible.
