    Father, I loved how you tied the Grail into the Liturgy and mentioned the Eucharistic Prayer. I never thought about it when the priest says "this Chalice", it makes the Mass even greater from that perspective. God bless you!

      The Holy Grail is a plate and was part of the Fisher King myth. They literally got 100% of every detail wrong.

      No. The Holy Grail was a specific serving dish in the Fisher King myth and not the Chalice of Christ. They got every detail wrong because they didn't bother to look.

    Very good episode. I know you guys said you'd do a video on the Inquisition so my next suggestion would be to do a video on Catholic literature and authors. C.S. Lewis, Tolkien, G.K. Chesterton, Dante Alighieri, T.S. Eliot etc. An episode on Catholic art would be nice too. Love you guys. Godspeed.

    A rosary that turned gold in Medjugorje? I thought that apparition was not recognised by the Vatican. Many of the clergy warn against it. Can you please expand on this? The revelations of Medjugorje seem to contradict the deposit of Faith.

      There is talk that they may be accepting the first six apparitions but not the rest, but this is at best rumors since I know nothing special of these matters. I avoided it as there was always a foreboding sense of unease around it for me that I usually had with say when accidently realizing that I stumbled into writings by Buddhist or some others spiritual tradition. Something felt wrong and my investigations have only given me more pause since some treat it like it was written in the Holy Bible or the like and many being disobedient with regards to Church authority around it.

    Does it say anything in the scriptures where the blood of Christ was captured in a chalice when the soldier pierced his side? And as much as I hate to say this, should something that contains that much power be trusted in the hands of mankind? This along with the ark of the covenant… Are these meant to be in the hands of men?

    That Eucharistic Prayer says "THIS Chalice" because they were literally using the chalice Jesus used. Not because that whatever Chalice any priest is using is mystically united with the original one.

    I'm going to put this comment in before I watch this episode on my understanding of what the Holy Grail truly is. I'll be curious if it matches up or if I'm off course.
    The Holy Grail from what I've read is not the Last Supper Chalice Christ used, but is what we refer to as The Shroud of Turin.

    The "Holy Grail" is a bowl type dish, not a cup. It was created by Chrétien de Troyes and is part of the Fisher King myth and not from the Bible. The Chalice of Christ is not the Holy Grail, which anyone who did basic research would have known. The word Grail, itself, even refers to a dish and not a cup. If you didn't know that then you didn't do enough research to speak on it. Please stop spreading misinformation and then using sock puppets to harass people who point out the actual facts from actual scholars.

      Kind of you to call us youth.

    • @Contact_Info
      @Contact_Info 4 роки тому +1

      @@CatholicTalkShow why not leave religions own strength of redemption and forgiveness to influence the youth? Using heavy metal and "feet on the cofee table" attitudes make it slightly easier for the less Interested to become involved. There is a philosophy and was of past Catholic discussions that this should not be done. Rather leave the rougher journey to the individual to want his/her resolve through salvation and without influence of attractive music, trends and other means to get them there. The core of wanting for forgiveness of sins and becoming a member of the Catholic church should not be flavored with sweet taste. Rather, the individual should look to the Church without all of these other distractions a d pleasures to get them there. You will find that this is fleeting as people who join for the want of acceptance through coolness and music for example will be the primary focus over religion and the individual will be looking for more of the music and the bad lifestyle over the core principles of Catholicism. I believe Protestants usually go the influence route.
