Went to Boston from LA for vacation last month. All I have to say is, Boston is probably the cleanest downtown that ive ever been to especially compared to LA, San Francisco and Portland (Oregon).
Im from Chelsea Ma, basically stones throw from Boston. I spent many of my years in and out of Boston. The whole of New England truly is awesome. I moved to the Great State of Texas 7 years ago mostly because of the weather. But, i do miss my home state truly. I started out in Austin, a beautiful city, but way too hot and humid. I now own a home in Lubbock Tx, which is in the pan handle area, and I love the weather. It almost gives me a taste of back home. Honestly, though, aside from the cold winters and lack of sunlight, I'd take Beantown any day over most cities in the US.
Boston is the most European and intelligent city in the country. We don’t want to hear about people who reject progress. They can stay in the north and south shore or move to TX and FL where they can embrace all the contradictions.
Yeah, you prettymuch nailed why Boston is a great city. We got the greatest sports teams of this century at least, Beach, mountains, ocean, parks, but the best is the food. So many cultures. And make sure you get a 3-way roast beef. Not that crap from Arby's but something sliced thin that day.
Not only Boston but Massachusetts as a State is great. It is small that you can drive anywhere in the State in less than 3 hours, and it has a great variety of places. For example, now in September and October, Salem is the best place to be (although traffic is a bitch). You can also got to the Berkshires, Cape Cod, Gloucester and Rockport, and plenty of golf courses and parks.
The former King of Thailand (Rama IX, who passed away in 2016) was born at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge while his father was studying at Harvard.
Great video! I agree with it all! Unfortunately you left out the social dance scene (NOT the clubbing/ bar scene - like you said in your other video, that particular scene isn’t so great). A very active Latin social scene (salsa/ bachata, etc), West Coast Swing dancing, Swing dancing and Hustle dancing are also big.
I can't believe he does not mention the great mass transit. Boston has the oldest subway in the nation and one of the best. Forget about renting a car when visiting. There is great mass transit from the airport, all over town. This plus the walkability is really great. I don't know why he does not mention the great mass transit.
@@asmdre84 I ride it a lot. I realize lately there have been some delays, but compared to other American cities, there are few better. Like if you compare it to Miami or Nashville, or Atlanta, etc.
If you had the chance to relocate with your wife and fulfill all your dreams, would you lean towards the dynamic allure of Chicago, or do you find yourself contemplating the possibility of staying rooted in the familiarity of Boston?
This is a great question and one we think about often. Chicago is a great, big city - you’ll never be able to do everything there. And most of our friends and family are there. Boston is more manageable- albeit more expensive. Boston is where Franci has the most opportunities for work and as a realtor in Boston, my book of business is here. Franci just accepted a job in Cambridge, so we are here to stay.
As someone who also lived in the Chicago area and the Boston area, Boston's saving grace is its high paying jobs, great schools for kids, and beaches. For everything else, I'll choose Chicago (Food, friendly people, entertainment, sports, and lower cost of living)
so no jobs out side the common high paying ones, finance tech, medical? welp, guess I don't fit as anything in design (not including UX nor engineering) less that director is under 70k
Point on with your video !!! Thank 🫵you kindly for the upload!!! Best city 🤍EVER , Education , Architecture , History , Medicine , Sports, Food think All Fishes , and Music !!!!, No city in the world has all that in one walkable , T line transportation !!!!! And did you know that Ho Chi Minh was a pastry chef at the Omni Parker hotel? And Malcolm X as a bus-boy.
I did not. There’s so many interesting facts about that place!

"This video examines the cons of Boston"?
It is irresponsible as a Real Estate Agent to avoid mentioning the entire south shore and south west of Boston.
