I know now that the music may be too loud for some of you and I do apologise for that, but thank you for letting me know and I agree its too loud! but thanks for the feedback and its helped me with future videos so I appreciate it! - Наука та технологія
Very good video for a first review, keep it up!
Thank you I appreciate that!
Definetly still worth it!
Thank you so much for this review! I've been thinking of upgrading my tablet actually
Thank you for watching! I upgraded my old tab A 9.7 with S pen to the tab s4 and it was well worth it
@@techacademia9394 I just have to find a good deal. Do you know where to get the 6gb ram version from Korea? I would be upgrading from an Nvidia Shield.
The only place I could ever find it available is on eBay, in the uk it's about £550-£600 from South Korea, you might be better off finding a good deal on the tab s6
I have a 256gb /4gb of ram model Tab S4 here in australia that I bought in december 2018. Still love it too this day, kinda reminds me of the original Tab S 10.5 in a way having the same screen size and resolution
Yeah you're right! I remember really wanting the original Tab S 10.5 but couldnt afford one at the time. Glad I could get the Tab S4 though!
YAY A FELLO AUSTRALIAN on these videos FINALLY! I thought i was the only australian on these videos
I can appreciate the review in now 2/14/21 but there are many ebay sellers selling these for about $180 shipped. For $400 shipped, the s6 (on sale, now no longer on sale) for the casual user.. it's a better idea to go for the S4 as it will be more then sufficient.
Good review, this is definitely what I'm looking to know. One question about the keyboard cover, does it make the tablet significantly heavier? One of the things I want to use it for is as a replacement to my just-died Kindle paperwhite, so it has to be light enough to comfortably use as a daily reader.
Thanks for watching! Unfortunately I dont have a keyboard cover but looked it up and its 846g (1.865lb) altogether. Maybe better to detach it from the keyboard and just use the tablet alone to read, plus itll he a lot comfier to hold for long reading sessions.
Still using it with the dedicated keyboard cover as a daily driver for 2 years now....love it, will probably wait until the S8 comes out to change.
Hey man I gotta ask a question do u still get software updates after all these years?
@@shrish01 yeah
Beautiful B Roll
Is the tab s6 worth twice the price of this if this will mainly be used to watch movies and play a few games like yugioh and bloons tower defense.
Can I use Adobe Photoshop here? Please reply, please. I want to buy this but I still have no idea if I could run photoshop or not.
Hi can you please let me know if you can use the s pen as a remote to take pics / start and stop video ?
Unfortunately it does not
Thanks! Im trying to decided if i want an s4 or s6 for drawing
What did you get !!
Nice review
Thank you!
Hi. In your opinion which one way of playing emulator games you think is better in terms of simplified, straightforward way of installing games, connecting a controller and playing them on a device with no complicated settings to change: a PC or an Android device? How about the Tab S5e. Newer but slightly weaker processor. Do you think it's also a good tablet for emulators? Or the older but more powerful Tab S4 is sufficient enough?
I have no experience of using a controller to play emulated games on an android device, but I have on the PC and still do! So I'm biased to say that it's simpler to do on the PC. But for playing emulators, the tab s4 should do fine!
is still still recommended in late 2021? is 4gb ram enough? Thanks!
Hi There
Can some one here answer my question
Actually I want but this device in this month and also cover book with keyboard
this still worth for working office ? like word, excel, power point ? also browser
Thanks
Si
Still confused. Which is better tab s4 or s6lite?
Nice video
I'm conflicted.. I want the Tab S4's stylus but I want the Tab A 8.0's price range XD I'm planning to draw on it, that's why I want a bulkier pen like from the Tab S4's. Any suggestions? Thank you!
You can always get the Tab A 8.0 and buy an S pen alternative similar to the size of the tab s4's. There are plenty in the market that are universal/compatible with Samsung tablets! Do plenty of research, I would start with amazon as they provide a lot of useful and genuine reviews.
The other alternative is finding the right person online who is selling the tab s4 for the price you're looking for.
Hope that helps!
@@techacademia9394 Thank you so much ^w^ I appreciate the help, I'll search in amazon
Great Video. 2 Questions:
1. How does it perform against S6 Lite? (daily usage)
2. Which Note making app do you use? (I'm a student)
Hi, thanks for watching!
1. The galaxy tab s4 has a flagship SoC (SD835) and the galaxy tab s6 lite has a midrange SoC (exynos 9611). Looking at benchmarks the tab s4 performs better than the tab s6 lite, but not by a considerable amount in my opinion. But still, games and apps will run better on the tab s4. They're both very similar in design except I believe the tab s6 lite has an LCD display at 2000x1200 instead of an AMOLED in the tab s4 at 2560x1600. So the tab s4 will have a much better display. They both come with the s pen which is a plus and battery life will be a lot better on the tab s4 according to review sources online but they both should last you throughout the day no worries! The tab s4 also has DeX which seems to be missing on the tab s6 lite. Overall, I would argue that the tab s4 is a lot more versatile than the tab s6 lite. Although the main thing to keep in mind is that the tab s6 lite will have longer software support, but security updates will still come to the tab s4 for quite a while after its last software update.
2. I use OneNote, mainly because I use microsoft apps on all my devices and it fits perfectly to my workflow. I've been using it for years, I'm very happy with it and have had no complaints!
Hope that helps!
@@techacademia9394 Thank you very much for the in-depth review and helping me out on making better choices.
You're very welcome! 😁
I love my tab s4 it's a great bit of kit and the keyboard cover is well worth the investment it's like a mini portable laptop with a bluetooth mouse. And I have owned the ipad pro 9.7inch with the keyboard cover and the tab s4 far superior with it's free s pen and mouse compatibility
That it is! And what I actually like most about the free s pen is that it doesnt run on it's own battery.
@@techacademia9394 yes it's very convenient and best of all it's not £150 to £100 either. I wanted one when I owned my ipad pro but I refuse to fork out such a silly amout of money. I know the apple pencil is very good and works brilliantly but it's just too expensive.
Agreed, although it works really well, theres plenty of good alternatives out there for the apple pencil 👌
@@techacademia9394 definitely I've also had a Microsoft surface pro 4 with pencil that was a good bit of kit just not usb type c charging if it had that then it's a perfect machine
Ordered it Today! Centre wanted to test it out
Thats awesome hope you enjoy!
How is it?
@@Surfing566 it's pretty good good dex mode is good but tbh depends what you use it for tbh I'd get the s6 tab if I was buying one just in terms of newer software and prob faster
Do you think i can play genshin impact on this ? And i don't know if the 6/7/8th gen ipad can handle them bcs they have 3 gb ram..... And i don't know if i should get this or the tab a7 :(
Same question here D:
@@kenshi389 hiii i just found out that you can play genshin on the a7 but it lags a lot ! and if you have more money you can go for the 8th gen ipad or s6 lite or even 5se ! If you want to save more money , the tablets isn't a big or famous brand but it can run genshin smoothly

I have the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 with 6gb and it is a very nice tablet and blazing fast. My only problem is the battery life. The battery drains so fast after charging without operating it. After charging overnight too a hundred percent, I wake up to meet 84 or even 68 percent on the tablet. I usually turn off all minimized apps before i go to bed. Please what's causing this and the one note and MS Word you have on this tab, how did you download it because its not free on the Google Play Store? Thanks
Hi! Sorry to hear about the battery drain on an otherwise amazing tablet especially since you have the 6gb version! I had a similar issue on my iPhone x last year with a mysterious battery drain. Apple refused to take a look at it even though it was still under warranty or acknowledge that there was an obvious hardware issue. so I fixed it myself. After trial and error and replacing a lot of components, it turned out that the logic board was faulty and kept draining the battery even when it was turned off (about 15-20 percent per hour!). So, worst case scenario it's your motherboard. Other than that, it'll likely be the battery itself, download Accubattery and find out what your battery health is like. Best case scenario is that something about the oneUI version youre running is affecting your particular models battery life, so a software update might fix it. I would contact samsung if you've no luck diagnosing what the issue is. As for the MS apps, I didnt even know you had to purchase them! I go to uni and they offer office 365 for free so that must be why. Hope that helps!
@@techacademia9394 Thanks for the recommendation
No worries and good luck!
@@kyrianpaul2992 Man check before with an app like AccuBaterry how many cycles have you battery done and if is any app drying it or cant enter in Depp sleep for anything.
Is dokkan running smoothley or doesnt it work with big games love your vid btw
I'm currently in the process of moving so I don't have it on hand, but I can't imagine why it wouldn't run well on the tab s4! Tried it on my galaxy note 8 and works just fine. Thanks for watching!
@@techacademia9394 thanks
Samsung Tab S4 is worth if if you can get it on sale or open box. I am getting mine this week. It is open box with keyboard and pen for $349. I have wanted one for the past year. Yet, the price was too high. I am wanting to switch away from Chromebooks too.
For sure, that's a bargain! It was far too expensive when it first launched considering its specs were already outdated (it shouldve had the snapdragon 845).
I never thought to compare it to a chromebook though. Slap on a bluetooth mouse and it's a good chromebook replacement I imagine. It definitely outperforms many chromebooks at that price point and even some more expensive ones. Also with the tab s4's design, screen, battery speakers etc. it's just a great overall package. let me know what you think of it when you do get it! :)
These USA deals are amazing! 😲 it's way overpriced here.
Is this better thank the huawei m5 lite? Thank you
I don’t have the m5 lite but looking at the specs alone I would say it’s probably not as good as the tab s4. Even though the snapdragon 835 is an old flagship processor at this point, it’s still pretty ahead of the mid range Kirin 659/710 in the m5 lite so apps and games will run a lot better on the tab s4. Plus, the screen is a lot sharper.
@@techacademia9394 got yah. Thank you
Will this tablet update to One IU 2.0.???? Do you know if the tab S5e will also update to One IU 2.0??
It's been confirmed that both will get One UI 2.0, although for the tab s4 this will likely be its last software update!
Tech Academia wait when people say “last update” or “stop updating” then does that mean the tablet will break in a month or something after? Or is it just like the last of the actual HUGE UPDATES but they still fix bugs every once and a while and stuff?
Yeah what I mean is that One UI 2.0 will be its last big android software update, but itll continue to get security updates long after that, which may also include bug fixes
@@techacademia9394 oh ok
Im gonna get this for gaming and drawing this seems good im getting it since the processer is a beast
Definitely still worth getting, enjoy once you have it!
I still do have problems with my s4. Especially if your gonna play intense games like pubg, fortnite, or asphalt 9. For gaming at your price point i think Ipad air 3 will do it. But if your a android user yeah g with the s4
Agreed, the ipad air 3 is miles ahead I can confirm having the ipad mini 5, but if an android is what you're looking for at this price point the S4 is the one.
@@blackight6845 i literally have an ipad air rn lol and im gonna get this as my first android device ever also no im not gonna play graphically intense games like pubg and fortnite, those games are stupid anyways, i just play those stickfigure games and the battle cats and stuff
@@techacademia9394 thanks
DEX seems like a legit replacement for Chromebooks to me.
U use chromebooks chrome os is terrible
@@briancraney8322 i agree with you

I'm planning on buying a brand new Tab S4.
Did you experience any jelly scrolling effect when using the tablet in portrait mode ?

I wasn't able to open up that link for some reason but looked at other videos and. Wow. That is shocking! No, I definitely haven't experienced that, I haven't even heard of jelly scrolling before this. Hope that helps!
You can buy a Tab S4 for 270 bucks here in the U.S on EBay
That's amazing! Good condition ones at that price are a steal.
Tech Academia The Tab S6 is 480$ US dollars it’s like a 210 dollar difference and it has 6 gigs of Ram! But the IPad Pro 3rd Gen is still almost 1000 bucks
yes! I just got mine for $270 (no s pen nor case) in 2020
@@techacademia9394 I have bought one on Amazon brand new with keyboard case for 330euros a few weeks ago was a deal and the case is original but with germany keyboard, I can live with it usually I don't look at the keyboard to write, but I am a bit disappointed, I have an S2 tab and is lighter and very comfortable to read, display size is better for books, I was wondering to use the tablet for underline PDFs and read books, take a few notes. Should I bought Galaxy S6 or change the battery from S2 still is worth to read and mark pds.
I bought one with the keyboard cover for 350 today on eBay.
I got 64
Do you have the Wifi or the LTE model?
This is just the WiFi model 🙂
Fast charging? Ok that’s pretty cool but I honestly think fast charging is a bit dangerous to use ALL THE TIME, i’ll probably only use it when im desperate for battery.
Definitely, if you can afford the time then use charge it normally!
@@techacademia9394 yea.
Can't hear you,why the frickin music,gave up
Yeah others have mentioned that, and I agree it's far too loud! It was my first ever video but its feedback like this that has helped me improve on my next video, thanks!
Your music is louder than you so when i turned up volume your back ground music got louder. So annoying i turned off video.
Hi! Yeah someone else mentioned it in the comments. I agree the music is too loud on this one! Again I apologise for that! But I took on the feedback and it helped me improve on my next video. Thanks!
a bit rude lmao calm down
I'm between this one and the s6 lite.
I have a note 10+ and use the snapdragon 855 a lot, and the 835 made me think it could be slow, but sure it can runs every game smoothly.
Great video, I never comment and like, but I'm high af and really liked it.
The 835 is still pretty capable! it really all comes down to price of what you're trying to buy at the end of the day whether something is worth it! And lol

I've just checked and you're right! Didnt notice it on my pc speakers, but it was very noticable in my headphones. I'll make sure to improve and fix that for next time.
Thanks for your feedback, much appreciated! :)
