Lol by the time they invited Chris Rose and her family probably have remembered all their lines to stay😂
Ohhhh so he was breaking character
Or maybe he enjoyed Chris and wanted to get along with him 🤣
"I wasn't gonna hurt him.." meant he wasn't going to hurt him enough for the transplant to be ruined. What a movie this was 🔥🔥🔥 the foreshadowing, the history, the trivia, the acting, the characters, the theme and atmosphere were all just phenomenal. Most favorite movie of all time

Caleb is such an excellent actor , really gets under your skin !
Caleb should have had more screen time, he is great... and in the same year he did a completely different character in "Three Billboards". Good actor.
@walkerwn check out his latest movie called "dogman" it was excellent, and he was amazing as led character.
PLEASE GIVE THIS MAN THE NEXT JOKER CHARACTER ! I think he would easily reach same level of acting than Heath Ledger !!
@@LaMarkBallSomeone definitely can. You’re blinded by nostalgia. In my opinion Heaths joker wasn’t all that great. He’s a good actor though love him. But most people just say that because he died. let’s be honest
@@handler65 yea you prolly right i wanna see where joaquin phoenix can take it too tho
heath was amazing, but this guy could achieve something new and great too
Overjoyed that Caleb's performance here is getting a spotlight. He was perfectly cast
All of the actors were so good in this movie. This was the first time I remember seeing Caleb Landry Jones, and I thought, this dude is SCARY.
Lord, this brother character is unsettling. He’s just unhinged enough to let the truth almost leak out, and it’s like he doesn’t really care. It’s like he’s giddy to get to the horrors that await already. He’s just in it because he wants to do harm. You see him coming way sooner than Rose, but it doesn’t make him any less terrifying.
The scariest part is when you realise that Jeremy wasn't putting Chris in a headlock as a joke it was actually just going to be 'choke hole' and there job is done. 😨
the brother should do some more big movies. like a villain suicide squad type shit
@@andytrevino4077 He would make a good Joker a more hardcore and sadistic one
Sort of interesting how when the brother goes to approach Chris, Rose just sits there and doesnt do anything smh. Shows she didn't have his back at all
If *Macaulay Caulkin and Jessie Pinkman had a baby*
I actually thought it was Caulkin the first few seconds he appeared on the screen
Lol I love that you said Jesse Pinkman like it’s his real name. Not even being facetious.
He definitely made that role his
I love how you said Jesse Pinkman instead of Aaron Paul 😂 You have to combine the actor Macaulay Culkin with _this specific fictional character,_ not just the actor who plays him 😂
Another amazing detail in this scene. The contrast between Chris knowing judo and Jeremy knowing Jujutsu. For those who don't know, the two martial art forms were in competition in Japan, with the schools that taught them being rivals. Jujutsu was traditional and is based on a series of pre-arranged movements. Judo is encourages free-form movements and was a disruption to the establishment which eventually overcame Jujutsu. Judo is also about throwing your opponent, like throwing your oppressor off your back. Meanwhile, Jujutsu is all about dragging your opponent down, getting them onto the ground, like Jeremy's attempts to choke his victims out.
Nah he meant BJJ (brazilian jiu-jitsu) not the Jujits (Japanese jiu-jitsu). In Jujitsu strikes are allowed but in Brazilian jiu-jitsu the art is totally on grappling.
^100% correct. Ol Ezrablock skipped history class. BJJ stole the ground game from the original Japenese Jujutsu, and expanded on it. Jujutsu was developed and used by the Samurai as a combative system to end your opponent quickly on the battlefield, wearing full armor, when you lost your katana. It has 6 key elements in it's art: 1) striking 2) throwing 3) chokes 4) joint manipulation 5) anti-grappling 6) weapons in all stages. BJJ only involves one of those components: grappling/anti-grappling. The reason you don't see anybody spar using JJJ, is because it's not a combat sport, and last time I checked you couldn't strike someone's airway, or low line T-kick a field goal with someone's testicles in BJJ.
What a movie. This moving was so unique on so many levels. Zero cliches. The family could act so normal and progressive but the psychotics were all there right under the surface. Brilliant
Caleb was/is the best actor in that movie. It’s just a matter of time in the right role and in the right movie that he will be at superstar status.
Stop capping.
He did a great job, I personally watched this scene again only for him, but Daniel kaluuya was the best actor in that movie and this is a straight fact
@JMCMAC91 I hope you're joking unless Text comprehension is not something you were taught in school, now quote the exact moment where I made this about race, I'll wait..
@JMCMAC91 keep your ASUMPTIONS to yourself.
The fact that you start an argument based on what you thought and NOT what I said or even thought says a lot. I'm not even engaging in the rest of this conversation at this point...
@JMCMAC91 again, another assumption.
Comment again only if you have something intelligent to say pls
@JMCMAC91 first thing first you made it about race, No one else but you.
Second, if you knew anything about cinema or about this movie you'll understand that Daniel kaluuya's performance was arresting, the body language, the expression, the vibe he created, everything further than flat.
So you clearly don't know what you are talking about.
Last but not least, is funny how when a black person win is quickly ignored by people like you, literally saying they didn't deserve it...
This is so pathetic and dumb
If he made you uncomfortable then he played his part well 👏🏽
2:03 they’re genuinely concerned Jeremys gonna ruin the plan here
This actor is absurdly underrated
Caleb is really something .intense and piercing gaze .He gave authentic twisted and tormented soul to the character.
The brother is star of the scene, but Catherine Keener and Bradley Whitford, as the parents, are subtle in their actions.
As the mother stood up, she looked at Dean tilted her head toward Chris, as if to say "your turn", and Dean gave a quick smile in return, as the mother said, "maybe clean it up a little bit".
Dean immediately changed the subject to sports as a way to study Chris. Football and baseball are on opposite sides in terms of direct physical contact. Basketball is in between them. When Chris mentioned he thought MMA was too brutal, that piqued Dean's interest. And as Chris added in that he used to do judo, Dean gave a smile, as he learned that Chris' body likely had strength, flexibility and dexterity, but wasn't beat up from years of playing high level contact sports, and likely not seeking fighting as a person with nonviolent tendencies
Interesting how Dean asked the about sports and said nothing to add to the conversation. The mother returned from retrieving the dessert and she said nothing to add to the conversation either
Of course, them getting to know Chris and his interests proved to be their downfall, as they didn't realize that he's practically the spitting image of brain and brawn.
Dean couldn't add to the convo becuz Jeremy cut him off and asked about MMA.
I wouldn’t be able to be in Chris’s situation, at all. Too nerve-raking for me.
Caleb played the creep too damn well.
Daniel Kaluuya did so much great acting with just facial expressions. Brilliant.
Filming and acting this must have been so awkward.
One of the most if not the most important scenes in the movie. It set up the rest of the movie so well.
I think the reason that Rose bit the guy’s tongue off is that she wasn’t great at acting like the nice Rose yet and still had a lot of the cereal-eating Rose in her
He is such an underrated actor and he is still young so has a lot of potential to show, he reminds me of a young Heath Ledger a lot and even reminded me of his Joker here
You can tell he tapped into something personal the way he delivered those lines
Does anyone else wonder what kind of drugs that guy was supposed to be on throughout this movie?
I guess, he have some TDAH or a low autism. Isn't part of the movie, that's how he is.
We don't know what is her illness, most probably TDAH
@@eriktruchinskas3747
sorry, I put that in spanish and not in english, lol.
my apologies.
its like hes obsessed with chris in a weird way
I always just interpreted it that the brother was really into martial arts, but because of his frame genetics he couldn’t take it far, so he really wanted a black body himself so he could become a champion fighter. But he had to wait his turn, and was antsy.
In the same year, Caleb Landry Jones was in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri,
where he played the sweetest, nicest puppy dog of a character. Great range
I think the brother is so good at acting he has to play so psycho and on edge
3:46 the way he’s so infatuated his elbow slips is creepy asf man
Dude he can play Joker 🤣
Is it just me, or does the brother look a shit ton like Heath Legder?...
When he starts talking about MMA, he reminded me of The Joker from The Dark Knight
@@Joe_Parmesan Especially here at 2:44 when he makes the slurp sound with his mouth. That’s very Jokery
Is it just me or would this guy make a great Joker, he does a good job of making the audience feel uncomfortable and uncertain
So my take on this scene. I always interpreted the way the brother is acting towards Chris as just really wanting his body. The brother is clearly into martial arts, so seems like the brother really wants Chris body so he could take it further and become a champion fighter.
But his body is for someone else. So he’s antsy to get himself into a black body, and liked Chris’s.
It really makes me wonder what the average white person knows about my race than we know about ourselves…
@@Jordan-qq6yv black people of west African descent (majority of blacks Americans) have a higher density of fast twitch muscle fibres because malaria, the parasitic virus prevalent in that region, is more likely to kill you if you have slow twitch muscle fibres. Fast twitch muscle fibres = explosive and rapid movements, great for contact and combat sports. Though in a sport like MMA being explosive will only get you so far. You also need excellent cardio, durability, and coordination/balance. I feel like the MMA subject was brought up solely because Peele wanted to make fun of how white guys love MMA lol.
I agree but he is stupid because he could simply work out more and he would be just as strong. Nothing is holding him back except his own obsessive cultist mentality.
@@Jordan-qq6yv if you haven't, do research on Melanin. I'd say it seems like most races know things about us (blacks) than we do about ourselves.
@@SunlightGwyn He could be just as strong or fast but I doubt it m, and even he knew that... natural genetics plays a huge role, that’s why the fastest guys in professional sports are almost always Black. Other races train just as hard or even harder but the results are always the same, look at Jamaican sprinters or NFL players. Genetics is the starting ground, some people are just truly built different (longer legs, more fast twitch muscles, lower lactic acid buildup from the same activities). Throw dedication and focused training on top and most likely you’re not catching them. Like Anderson Silva or Usain Bolt
There's something uncanny about the way Jeremy moves his gaze from his father to Chris at 2:31.
im glad Caleb is getting his flowers for this performance. chilling

So this was how meghans first dinner went with the royals huh 😐
I have always thought the same thing that is crazy thanks for thinking my thoughts.
Jeremy is a good actor.
This guy stole the entire show in a few mins imo. Never even heard of him. Caleb Jones apparently. Hell of an actor.
That’s some superb acting for real
That brother is such a freak! And what’s with the hair... I would be out of there so fast. I love how the other family members are allowing the awkwardness 😪
That's something I didn't pick up on initially, at least with regards to Rose. She was subtle with her contempt for Chris
This definitely foreshadows the family but also very sneakily foreshadows how sadistic Rose is. I think they underplayed how she bit off someone’s tongue with how she turns out to be later in the movie.
One of those movies that are so interesting to watch a second time. So many little things to notice.
"Yes" so cute!!! Lol 2:32
I saw this movie last year. I didnt noticed it was Caleb ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I wanted to dislike him for over acting but I’d say nah he’s convincing as a psycho who had too much to drink
Major red flags…But I think I will act the same in a situation like this.
When you are in a relationship…you have to put up with certain things. So people that are like “why doesn’t he leave?” It is kinda of hard.
You are there for the person, not her family.
It’s clear that’s the way Chris saw it.
Even when he was choking her, she smiled because she was so ego stricken. That his love for her made it impossible for him to act.
People watch one scene of this movie and now everyone in the comment section is suddenly a movie critic lol
he can play an epic joker i think
Don’t damage the products Jeremy
The mother is really pretty.
She radiates maternal energy, despite knowing her true, nasty motivation.
I also think Jeremy's story is relevant because it ends with Rose biting her boyfriend's tongue, removing his ability to talk.
And, the reflection of the light in Dean's glasses made him creepy
Like how later on in the film how chris use’s jujitsu concept while fighting with Jeremy when he’s trying to get the door open.
2:04 Look how Rose looked at jeremy, Shaking her head like don’t do anything to hurt him.
that Biting Tongue Off anecdote sure makes a lot more sense on a rewatch
@@drift9301 it's foreshadowing Rose's true nature, it seems strangely over the top initially, but it fits well to the sociopath she eventually turns out to be
@@TheStoenk Exactly! I don't think it was an accident or a reflex either because as a scared teenager having your first kiss, if you get freaked out by tongue, you'll probably pull away or push the boy away but to bite the tongue?
My guess is this was before she learned to put on the mask of a normal girl. She probably wanted to get freaky with the guy and as a teenager she probably thought her sociopathic ways were normal.
Does anyone else remember the brother played Banshee in X Men First class ?
This has probably been said before, but, this guy sounds and acts so much like Brad Pitt. Same type of voice, demeanour and mannerisms. He even looks like him slightly with the long blonde hair (not as handsome, obviously). Anyone agree?

Caleb Landry Jones should be casted as the young version of Joker. I think he can fit that role so well.
Expert in making someone feel uneasy
When your family just doesn't get how awesome BJJ is and tell their friends you do karate :(
I don't see why the black dude went to go meet her family at all. Unless we're talking marriage then why am I meeting them? We might breakup tomorrow or next week or something.
I’m Latino and I briefly met my white GF’s adoptive mother. We were at a trade school, and her mother came to drop off something for her. I smiled and said hello, she just walked by, gave me a dirty look, and didn’t respond. I was very pissed off and surprised at the judgment that was casted on me. This experience ruined the whole “meeting the parents” for me. Never again!
They’d only dated 4-5 months they said. I figured they’d been dating like a year! I agree I don’t see a point in taking them home to meet family if it’s just been a few months, unless you already think you’re going to marry them.
This is the only part of the movie that the Armitaches actually feel like normal people
Everyone looks so normal, the brother is just a douche but the most fucked up person is actually the girlfriend lol
