Was wondering whether to get this expansion, this video was super helpful. Thanks so much. I've been watching your SoB videos nearly constantly this past week as I begin exploring the game - absolutely the best series of YT videos on the game. Thank you
I really like this game. I backed the last kickstarter Valhalla and conquistador sets. It should ship at the end of this year. I have been waiting a long time for those sets. Great series of videos!
It will ship only at the end of this year? I hoped at least wave 1 will come in summer since the pledge manager will be closed in the next 6 weeks. Cannot wait anymore after 2 years... :( I just added almost all the add one to my Warlord pledge. At least the warlord pledge hopefully ships soon.
@@crazyvolucris There are a number of EU retailers, but the best bet would be to contact Asmodee who bring the games in and find out local stores...Try here click on the product you want and it will provide a list of retailers though there are more I just don't have bookmarks for them I'm afraid. boardgameprices.co.uk/item/search?search=shadows+of+brimstone
@@crazyvolucris maybe Fantasywelt.de will get it and if yes they have okay prices. I just bought some Season1 stuff. Fantasywelt.de didn't have the old stuff so I bought at tiny local retailer and Amazon, but prices were high (I am in Austria/EU). Most things are not available at all. And yes ordering from flying frog US or Amazon US is not an option. Delivery prices are around 40 USD per expansion.
Dog companion mutation: Noxious Gas. Roll an 11 or 12 and Farfie toots out yesterday's stolen sausage. Heroes choke out and question which human dealt the smell.
Awesome! Bummer the feudal Japan one is hard to find. Honestly I have more than I need - as it is we have weeks of game. Of course as I say that, I order more enemies and the allies pack...
@@TheDungeonDive Ah I see. Really I am getting back into boardgames totally since maybe first hero quest was new ( I was a kid) so I am learning a bit as I go. I am slightly in shock with all the stuff I want to play all at once that out there.
@@TheDungeonDive thanks for the heads up. I was never going to jump in but focusing on just Forbidden Fortress makes it see slightly more financially viable. Hahab
Love your videos! Thank you for making these. question: How did you get the Forbidden Fortress Allies pack? I can't find it for sale on the FFP web store, Amazon or eBay.
@@TheDungeonDive do you have albums of that intro stuff? I would buy some for sure. Where can I find it? I just discovered dungeon synth and am really liking that
This expansion was one that I had down as definitely not going to get - but this video has changed my mind a bit. Now thinking about getting it. If you aren't on a percentage deal with FFP, you certainly should be! I wonder how many of the ideas in this game came from Warhammer Quest. The main game is very similar, of course, but WHQ also has pet dogs (they just increase your expenses in Settlements), and mules / horses to carry your stuff. Not nearly as complicated though. Was the designer a big fan of WHQ, do you think?
Yes. I said as much in a video recently. This is a WHQ derivative. Jason Hill got his start writing fan content for WHQ, and worked as a game ambassador for GW.
I like how he has taken it further than the original, adding extra layers of stuff, and various twists and turns. Also the amount of product for Shadows is staggering - a whole new world. I'm loving these videos so far, not fed up with them at all, and hoping you carry on with the series.
Great Series so far Daniel! I’ve been ready to add the ally pack to my collection and the video was super helpful. One question for you, the miniatures are plastic, right?
Seems like a really fun story-moments type expansion. Drama without immediate need for hero danger😄

Feudal Village is shipping right now, just landed in the states in fact.. I've had it on pre-order since last year... Cannot wait.
...and unfortunately orders from the USA to Europe are so incredibly expensive... does anyone of you know a distributor in the EU / Germany?

You can also level up a dog named Albus, the heroes fetch hound, from Dungeon Crusade! ;)
thanks for showing these expentions.
No problem!

I don't even think it's hit retail yet, has it? I purchased a white box non-retail version.

Board games are really confusing these days, with Kickstarter and all. Makes buying things far more difficult than it should.
It looks like you laminated the large cards, but are the small cards in sleeves or did you laminate them?
I did not laminate small cards.
Where can you find the Feudal Allies?
Not sure. Not out yet. I got it in a non-retail bundle from their website last year.

Thanks! That was part of the KS. Still hard to get at retail.
Sigh... If I keep watching these I'll end up buying it all. Eventually anyway.
Did you?
@TheKid_88 .... Not all of them
Love the intro music. Who does it? Great series and channel by the way.
Thanks. I do. :).
@@TheDungeonDive Really? Nice job
Thanks! I've written and recorded over 40 albums since the early 90s. Music is my first true passion.

The VHS jingles have not been release on an album yet, but some of my albums are available here.

If one of your allies kills an enemy is that xp lost?
It's not "lost" it's just not gained because your heroes didn't make the kill, and relied on their henchmen to do their dirty work!

Yes plastic.
New house rule: Any enemy that KO’s the doggo takes +2 damage from all attacks until the end of the combat... 😉🥲. 🥦🦖
Hahah. Right on.
Good stuff!
We need some one to create fan made expansions for WHQ to adopt these new SOB ideas!
