Clark is truly special, she’s a true example of a scoring point guard. She’s not a SG masquerading as a PG, she’s and elite passer with elite court vision, but is also an elite scorer.
Too bad she’s arrogant af and a poor sport. Rooting for her to lose.
Gabbie Marshall no big blocks or steals but was always trying to pick Colorado’s pockets from behind. And had a hot hand from 3 point line. 34 minutes, 14 points & 1 rebound. 💥👍
She did great. I believe it was last game she had no points but her defense was top game

Clark’s inside game carried her today offensively. She knew the three wasn’t automatic this game so she adapted. Smart.
It was the right reaction to her defender coming out to guard her closely out in 3-point land (an understandable decision). When the defense does that, it makes it easier to drive around that defender and get inside.
The way Clark drops dime is incredible!
Better than almost all NBA players. She can pass with the men, not score though

@daniellewis5474 lol yeah but its a smart strategy tbh. Save her energy for offense where they really need her. Plus it frees her to grab rebounds where she can create transition opportunities. It's done purposeful and actually very smart. She does play a relaxed defense.

Of course, Caitlin was stratospheric again especially with her laser passes but I just loved her layups that Colorado simply had no answer for. Gabbie, Kate, Sidney and Hannah were on cue. Clark is incredible at playmaking, some of these passes are very difficult to make
thats what ive said. She's actually a better passer than she is a shooter tbh. She's moreso a volume shooter, but her passing and court vision to me is her biggest talent. It's beautiful to see. She does it at a higher level than most men.

@daniellewis5474 "it's Colorado calm down" stated about the team that finished the season 12th in RPI, with numerous top 10 team wins and arguably the best point guard in the country.
That pass to go up to 15 was an amazing assist
So much attention paid to her that she frees up the rest of the team. Same effect curry has.

@@sixfootbear her passing is and has always been the most beautiful aspect of her game. She has incredible court vision thats actually better than many nba guards. Obviously she could never play in the nba but her ability to see the floor and lead players to certain cuts is seriously amazing to watch.

Iowa won this game easier than I thought they would, especially since Colorado had a height advantage plus had that quick guard wearing the mask who was hard to stop in transition. I hope Iowa gets their revenge over LSU in the elite 8.
They will beat LSU for good.

that insane pass to Affolter at 8:00 makes you want to look at it multiple times make sure it's not a magic trick and also crazy finish by Affolter crashing at full speed. she is one tough girl.
A couple of unnecessary observations; Marshall plays very well and very much like a girl (which I approve of), Affholter is probably the best athlete getting minutes for Iowa.
Marshall is a (mixed) black woman who is awesome on defense, Clark is Iowa's best athlete, and Affolter is a junkyard dog who does not back down from anyone.
West Virginia played them WAY tougher!!!

I'm not a basketball fan, but it is clear that Clark understands that she is part of a team and utilizes her skills to the best advantage for her team in a given situation.
If she's hot she bombs in the threes. If another girl is hot she will produce a miracle pass to the open teammate.
You have to guard all the Hawkeyes when Caitlin has the ball. It will go to the gal with the best opportunity to score. She sees the whole floor. A Gretzky on hardwood floors.
So fun to watch Clark. High IQ in basketball,spreading and involving her teammates to play even more better.Hope you win the Championship this time.Good luck.
Wasn't familiar with Sharrod before - but wow, what an incredible athlete. Overall, it's impressive to see just how talented all these players are - some of those shots and passes are mind blowing.
Clark passing was on point. That's what she will have to do vs LSU to have any chance. She will need to have a 15+ assist game and get her teammates heavily involved.
Clark had a really great game..we are truly spoiled right now on the women's side of college basketball.
I've written this before but Clark is very much like the female Larry Bird. Not that she's the same caliber but she's that much better in shooting and passing than the college competition. Bird had tons of people watching college basketball who then switched to watching the pros when he went there. And all the pros thought they'd teach this "white boy" a lesson but Bird immediately had an impact. In five years, Bird and Magic Johnson had tripled their own salary contracts and the revenue of the NBA as a whole. So this might quite likely be what saves the WNBA. It really doesn't matter what the haters tweet, because this lady can play and she can lead a team.
She has the potential to help the wnba if they let her.
My gut read, admittedly no expert, is that it's a very toxic environment. I don't think Bird had to deal with that level of negativity.
I think they will find a way to make it ugly and drive the fans away. I just hope that they don't break Clark as a person.

Deny Clark her downtown 3s, and she kills you with her inside game and her passing. There's just no way to neutralize all three of her weapons, especially given Iowa's terrific coaching: when Clark looks for a pick, it's _always_ there.

@@AaronCaldwell.Ratings dictate that Iowa needs to at least make the championship game. If Iowa’s eliminated before the championship, ratings will be half what they were last year. Maybe 2/3 at best.
I noticed some adjustment and improvements on the Hawkeye Iowa play in this game . And my favorite Number 22 Caitlin Clark played very well...so I would say Go Hawks because you deserve this championship this year! 💪🏻🇵🇭❤️🇺🇲

@BrianKiddDevDesign UCLA was 2-17 in 1st half from 3, yet they were still in the game. Their offense made no sense with a huge post player who could get LSU in foul trouble. Iowa is better coached, but LSU has the better team. Look for ratings to drop considerably after Iowa is bounced.
Iowa "too much power"? You either haven't watched LSU play and is just ignorant to basketball or you're being purposely biased. As Clark goes so does Iowa. Clark makes her teammates look good and gets them open looks from commanding double teams. On the other hand LSU has Reese who can create her own shot. Morrow can as well. Johnson can,too. So can Mikaylah Williams. All 4 CAN SCORE DOUBLE DIGITS at will. Match them up position for position and the only position that Iowa has the advantage is with Clark.

Having paid attention to Feuerbach, O'Grady, McCabe, AJ, and Goodman, they all got to play today. AND the Kylie and Addie looked good, they kept the game in good hands, actually scored and moved the ball well, while the starters were getting a break. These minutes are important going forward, as they have the rust knocked off in a game situation. And all the tourney games have been done without Molly Davis, an Iowa starter.
