Hi Michelle! I'm so glad you are going to try this tutorial. It is a very simple design that results in a gorgeous summer top. I'm sure you'll do great! Enjoy. And thank you so much for subscribing. Your support is so much appreciated!
@@CrazyCoolCrochet Ok, I finished this project, and I obviously did something wrong. All the way through on doing both panels it looked a little wonky but I thought it was because I was using cotton. When I was done trying to put both right sides together did not work. I had to put the right side of one and the wrong side of another in order for it to sit the same. One corner was higher than the other corner on the top part and the opposite corner of the bottom was lower. I Am very new so don't know why this is. I thought maybe one side was longer because when I turn I chain 2 when its time to do the hdc. then when its time to do the single crochet line I just chained one. I don't know what did I do wrong?? I like what I did and want to try again...but???
@@michelleschafer9692 First, the panels do end up looking wonky. This is normal. This is due to the drape of the cotton yarn and it is due to the way the end stitches are completed. This is all normal for this design. You did it correctly if you began the hdc rows with a ch 2 and began the sc rows with a ch 1 (conversely, you would have ended the sc row with a ch 2 and ended the hdc row with a ch 1...6 of one, half dozen of another...). All wonkiness aside...once you attach the panels at the shoulders and add the sc border on the sides and attach...it all evens out and should be good. I've made this a few times and each time the panels do look wrong; until I put it all together. If yours didn't work itself out in the end, maybe it was the yarn you used?
I love this pattern ive already done winter poncho of yours loved it im in Australia we are coming into summer so its great timing for me This is my next project Thankyou Dee

Hello, help please. I am making a size XL, using a 3 weight fine cotton/bamboo yarn with a size 3.75 hook. Seeking the measurement of the finished panel. I will need more rows than you recommend as my scale is smaller.
@@hgfjudy I'm sorry, I do not have measurements for XL. I suggest a foundation chain of 97 for XL using the suggested yarn. As I did not use the yarn or hook you are using I cannot give you more precise suggestions.
Thankyou for your video i can finally understand someone. There are so many different stitches.can u show how to do do 1 piece if there is such thing..God bless.
Thanks form your previous help, just one more question are the sides completely straight as I find I have one side not completely straight! Can fix if meant to be completely straight, Thanks!
I started my top today and started with 87 chain It's looking way too big, and if I add the side sc when finished it will be huge. I wanted a large which usually fits me although i can wear medium, but don't like anything too tight. I am using 8 ply acrylic/wool yarn with a 4mm hook. Any suggestions, or should I start again and make the medium size with 77 chain, thanks! Started again with 77 stitches, but If I find it is smaller than I would like I could add another row of sc along edge, could go 3 sc rows rather than 2, that would add extra width!
Thank you so much for trying this pattern. I always try to respond right away when someone is in the middle of working the pattern. Can it be that your tension is too tight? Tension and yarn used can totally skew a pattern. Have you possibly missed a stitch sequence? Go back to the beginning of the video and double check you are working the stitches correctly. I had someone who had completely missed the chain 1 between stitches and her panel was completely messed up. Hopefully this helps somewhat.
Crazy cool crochet, I'm doing this project and 2 of the corners going out in a point although all my stitches are correct, is this the way it suppose to be?
I like to respond right away if someone is working on the project...Yes, the panels will skew quite a bit as you are working them. It all evens out nicely when you seam them at the shoulders and sides.
I'm so happy you like this. I'm not sure if a UK 12 is a medium or large in US sizes. You will find more detail regarding sizing and materials in the description area, the white space below the video or at the blog: crazycoolcrochet.com/crochet-summer-crop-top/
Thank you so much! I'm happy you like this pattern. I made it in a size small which I stated right at the very beginning along with info on how to get more sizing detail in the "description area", the white space below the video. If you are unable to open up that detail you can also go here: crazycoolcrochet.com/crochet-summer-crop-top/
Thank you so much. This takes cotton yarn which is much cooler than acrylic or wool, so yes, it should be comfortable for your climate. Thank you for watching!

Hi Deb. I love the idea of using a bamboo yarn for this crochet summer top! However, since I didn't create the pattern using that particular yarn, I wouldn't be able to advise you on how much to purchase. I can tell you that I used 2.5 skeins for size small. Your yarn has more yardage per skein so I would take a best guess at 4 skeins for a medium. I always purchase one more skein than I think I will need so I'm not playing yarn chicken. Then I return what I didn't use. I hope this helps somewhat. Thank you for watching!
Hi...I have taken 77 chains how many half DC stitches should be there is it 38 half DC...I am confused because of that my endings of each row is not becoming correct and I have to keep counting and adjusting...can you please help me...
Yes, 38 hdc is correct. You are not counting the beginning 2 chain turning chain. I just recreated the first 4 rows following the video and it works fine. On row 4 when you are making the 2nd row of hdc that might be the confusion. Be careful where you start the first hdc. If done correctly, you will get the 38 hdc.
Hope to make when I buy yarn, is it ok to add a sleeve to the armholes What stitch would be the best sc or hdc for sleeve. Also how many 100 gm balls for a size medium, thinking 4, any ideas, would be 8 ply using 5mm hook
Hi Cindy. I actually have a free written pattern for this crochet top WITH SLEEVES over on my blog: crazycoolcrochet.com/easy-crochet-pattern-fall-sweater/ The materials list is there as well. I would add 1 more skein of yarn for a medium. Thank you for watching.
Yes, thank you for asking. You can see the pattern here: crazycoolcrochet.com/crochet-summer-crop-top/ or at my Etsy shop: www.etsy.com/listing/642256541/crochet-pattern-lightweight-cotton?ref=shop_home_active_4
So, if I understand correctly to make larger sizes I would just add 10 additional chains to my foundation row. So Medium would 77, large 87, Extra Large 97
I tested the links and they do work. I'm sorry I don't know how to direct you other than to be sure you are clicking the links in the description "box" below the video.

I'm happy you want to try this. As it states at the beginning of the video, more info is available in the "description area", the white space below the video. There is enough info there to be able to determine larger size adjustments. Size small starts with a foundation ch of 67. Add 10 additional ch's per ea size larger. I would start with 127 ch's. Measure around your bust or hips, whichever is larger, to see if that is long enough. Do not measure all the way around the back. Just the front. You will make two panels. For a 3x try Your yarn will work fine. I would purchase at least 9 skeins or about 1757 yards.

Good morning Ms. Crazy Cool Crochet. Your video tutorial on how to make a cool summer blouse is very helpful. I followed ur tutorial. Can you please send me a.video tutorial on how to make a V-necked and a round-necked crochet blouse? Thank you very much and may God bless you bountifully!!!

Hello thanks for sharing this video, I really like this top. I don’t know about anyone else but I have a hard time seeing what hole your going through when your crocheting. Your camera is off to the side. It would help if it was in front of your work.
Sorry about that! I have changed out my equipment and I think the more recent videos are getting better. The blog photos might help you: crazycoolcrochet.com/crochet-summer-crop-top/
I mentioned the hook size at 1:46 and the thickness of the yarn is in the description area (#4). I usually do say that in the beginning. Thank you for watching.
I'm happy you want to try this! As stated right at the beginning, you will find info for larger sizes in the description area, the white space below the video. Here you go: For larger sizes, add 10 additional chains per each larger size. And add additional rows for preferred length.
You are adding 10 ch's per ea additional size larger. If you are using a foundation ch of 97 (I saw your 2nd question but it's not appearing here) you will have 48 hdc. Thank you for watching!
Row 3, as shown in the video and written in the pattern: single crochet in the 1st space, chain 1, single crochet in the next space and repeat across the row.
The instructions for larger sizes is in the description area below the video. You need to open up that section. It states to add 10 additional chains per each size larger. For 3X that would be 127.
Hi. Thanks for the question. Yes, you can use acrylic yarn but it won't drape the same. With the cotton yarn, the weight of it causes the neckline to drape nicely on its own. And of course, the acrylic might be too warm for a summer top.
This pattern does tend to skew which is normal and will work itself out during the seaming. If it is actually decreasing (count your stitches to be sure) then you may need to fix your end row stitches to get the correct counts.
In the description area above it states "For larger sizes, add 10 additional chains per each larger size. And add additional rows for preferred length." The printable pattern is here: www.etsy.com/listing/642256541/crochet-womens-summer-top-pattern
It's hard to see where you're putting the Half Double Crochet exactly. I find that the view of the camera makes it hard to see exactly what you're doing. :-(
I'm so sorry about that. There is a closeup photo here that shows the placement: crazycoolcrochet.com/crochet-summer-crop-top/ But, honestly, for this pattern it only matters that you don't place the hdc in the spaces; the hdc can be entered anywhere inside the sc of the row below. Some patterns it does matter exactly where you enter the hook into a sc (center single crochet stitch for example). Check out the link with the photo. And I will be more mindful of that going forward! Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

@@CrazyCoolCrochet Thank you so much …I’m making it right now with yarn 24/7……and also thank you for sharing your pattern and very good teacher. ❤️👍
Thank you so much! If you click where it says Crazy Cool Crochet next to my photo above it will take you to my other videos. (At the top of that page click Videos and it will open up even more videos.) Here is one for a V neck top: ua-cam.com/video/UBmjemhlslE/v-deo.html And a round neck top: ua-cam.com/video/TmQIS1MqxpA/v-deo.html Thank you for the kind words. I appreciate you so much. Be safe.
What is waist is smaller than hips , what measurements should I make this top to
Just make your regular size. The waist is normally smaller than hips. This design/pattern is straight up and down.
That is beautiful
Thank you!
Maravilhoso seu trabalho.👏👏
Gracias!
Beautiful summer top i am going try this bt I dont have thread to make it
I'm happy that you like this crochet summer top. Hopefully you can make it soon! Thank you for watching and commenting.
Crazy Cool Crochet you explain everything really good, I’m starting to make the top in the color grey
@@renee1728 Yay! Glad to hear. Thank you for the kind words.
So petty! 😍
Thank you so much!!
Execellent
Thank you so much!
Preety top
Thank you so much!
What ply and weight is this yarn please
This is a #4 yarn.
For START, you should of put all the details of the thicness of the wool or cotton, plus the size of hook.
I mentioned the hook size at 1:46 and the thickness of the yarn is in the description area (#4). I usually do say that in the beginning. Thank you for watching.
I want to try it. Where are the different sizes 😊?
I'm happy you want to try this! As stated right at the beginning, you will find info for larger sizes in the description area, the white space below the video. Here you go: For larger sizes, add 10 additional chains per each larger size.
And add additional rows for preferred length.
@@CrazyCoolCrochet thank you 😊
I couldn't see it in the space indicated.
@@CrazyCoolCrochet
I see it now! 😁
You didn't give any yarn info as to yardage or hook size...if it's a cotton blend or any sizes for it.
Did you not watch the video? It's all there...
I have made mine a lot wider can you tell me how wide your neck hole is please
Approximately 10 inches wide.
You are making the small and have 33 HDC. What’s the HDC count if your making the bigger sizes?
You are adding 10 ch's per ea additional size larger. If you are using a foundation ch of 97 (I saw your 2nd question but it's not appearing here) you will have 48 hdc. Thank you for watching!
@@CrazyCoolCrochet hmm. I did ch 97 but I’m coming up with only 43 HDC
When doing HDC, this stitch is going in the sc and not the chain 1?
When doing HDC, this stitch is going in the sc and not the chain 1?
@@tinaanderson3218 The hdc is going into the sc below. The photos here show it more clearly: crazycoolcrochet.com/crochet-summer-crop-top/
Hello, I am confused in raw 3 and the written pattern is not clear
Row 3, as shown in the video and written in the pattern: single crochet in the 1st space, chain 1, single crochet in the next space and repeat across the row.
essa ficou top, ameiiiiiiiiiii, parabéns
muito obrigado!
How many grams did used?
Approximately 255 grams (9 ounces).
Can u please tell me how many stitches For a 3x Please
The instructions for larger sizes is in the description area below the video. You need to open up that section. It states to add 10 additional chains per each size larger. For 3X that would be 127.
Can i use dk cotton
Yes
@@CrazyCoolCrochet thanks

What size is this darl
At 00:33 in the video it states size Small and to open the description area above for info on sizing. Thank you for watching!
Why don’t you give the chain count for larger sizes ?
That is in the "description area" below the video. You need to open up that section to see more detail.
Can 4ply 100% Acrylic yarn be used to make this top?
Hi. Thanks for the question. Yes, you can use acrylic yarn but it won't drape the same. With the cotton yarn, the weight of it causes the neckline to drape nicely on its own. And of course, the acrylic might be too warm for a summer top.
Why does mine keeps on decreasing??
This pattern does tend to skew which is normal and will work itself out during the seaming. If it is actually decreasing (count your stitches to be sure) then you may need to fix your end row stitches to get the correct counts.
Mine just curled up .. when I went for second round
Curled up how? Sides, bottom? Try to loosen your tension.
@@CrazyCoolCrochet by round , the crochet curled from both sides ..
Buongiorno. Si potrebbe avere la traduzione in italiano? 😢
fatto :)
Grazie mille.
Cannot find different size pattern
I am making this top but as I am croching it it starts to loose shape I keep the stitches loose so it does not pull need help
I just subscribe I like you videos
Thank you so much! I truly appreciate this.
You should have filmed it front on instead of the side.
This was one of my earliest videos. I do now film from the front.
Пожалуйста, сделайте русские субтитры 🙏
