Awesome! Congratulations! You guys are finally on your way, living the dream. Well done. There's no better kind of reward than this, after all your hard work and sacrifice. Wishing you smooth sailing and may the wind be always at your back.
Another great video. Could you make a short video to explain the process of registering Lady Africa in the USA? Would be great to know, as it might be an option for some of us, too. Thanks, all. Have a safe trip and enjoy Namibia.
Wow! Now comes the joy you have worked so hard and been so patient for. Safe sailing, smooth seas, A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and the crew.
I hope you had a great a Christmas Lady Africa crew! Fair winds across the pond! Simone and Ricky.... Americans at heart anyway. I’ve been watching since vid 1 and been paying attention... 😁😉

Hiya.. just a tip I've learnt about provisioning pasta, rice etc. Buy ziplock bags and alcohol (70%) & cotton wool. Put your dry food in bag, wet the ball with alcohol, put in bag, leave for an hour. Then remove the ball. The alcohol kills all the "live" eggs in the actual pasta/rice.
That sure looks like a lot of food now, but I’m sure it’ll disappear quick enough. I near had a fit when you were discussing provisioning costs...then I realized you were talking Rands. Phew😳. That would have been killer if that were dollars. So happy for you that you’re heading out. Merry Christmas.
For our family of 8, we spend $250-300 / wk. For 3 months (x12), that's $3k - 3,600 US. In Rand, that's 51k-61k. If you're provisioning for 3 months @ 20k rand, that's pretty good.
Did you make a itemised storage map and a legend of what the can abbreviations mean? How are the cans secured from sliding when the provisions get low? Cheers and stay safe Eric
Wow the Monday before Christmas what a Christmas present for all of us thank you for sharing and I remember shopping like that when we are three kids worth my wife would stock up that brought back a lot of great memories I do have a couple questions one where is it where does your meat come from like where does your chicken come from in your beef does it come from Africa or Australia or America can't wait to see you on the open ocean Merry Christmas to you be safe and God bless we love you all
Our meat is South african. We do get chicken from Brazil etc but you can choose homegrown chicken as well ☺ Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! 🤗
Was that a State US lag ? Coast Guard flag, or a Delaware flag. Am interested on how you did that, understand the reasons, just would like to know how you did it, maybe a UA-cam clip with that?
Hi there Simone and Ricky!!!! Been following you guys since you renovated the Boat!!!!!! I take my hat off for your enthusiesm and hard work!!! Hi Guys. Been watching for a while now. And was curious now that you have passed Assention Island how the food situation is going. Saw that you are were living on the Bacon in yesterdays video.
We still have plenty of food aboard. We were just eating bacon cause that's what was in our second freezer. And we wanted to switch it off.. Our other freezer was too full. 😂
@@livingwiththemaias I am sailing to Knysna in January then jumping off and the boat is then heading to Capetown then crossing the Atlantic its called African Dream 38 ft catamaran
Hi have I missed something? I didn't know you had arrived in Namibia. In the last video 152 you were still swimming with seals in Cape Town. Is there no video of your trip up to Namibia?
I might be alone in this but I hate having the continuity broken. You’re telling a story, you should maintain a chronological order. Is there going to be video of the passage between Cape Town and Namibia?
Flagging boats and ships in countries that have convenient regulations is a time honored tradition of mariners. :) You'd be surprised how big a percentage of all ships world wide are flagged in Panama, The Marshal Islands, and Liberia. More importantly. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! See you in 2021.
Did you have a weekly meal plan in order to work out how much stuff to take for three months? I struggle to provision for more than a few days. And I don't have a freezer:(
We have our stash as a celebratory when we get to our destination but underway this is strictly a dry boat ☺ Merry Christmas to you and your family as well.
Im seriously confused? Apparently your still in South Africa.. but you sailed away, something we have been all waiting and asking for, but you didn’t show it? Or it in this episode?
Yes South Africans are carnivores. Buy lots now because most of the world is very expensive. Whenever I live abroad I that is what I miss the most good meat at good prices. Here in Russia a small steak costs a lot of money.
Just want to make you aware that if you do not choose, and you let UA-cam decide, they are inserting two ads every four minutes. Which means I will never make it to the end of this video
Hi Lynn, I am a Premium subscriber with Utube & get zero ads. For all of the streaming and access I get (rather than TV), it is probably one of the most cost-effective subscriptions I have ever had. Like you, the frequency of ads you are getting would drive me crazy too. I am just saying revisit your options.
@@nigellowe_sys7334 Appreciate it, but I’m not in the mood to pay for anymore video, cable, streaming service, etc. I’ve had enough! I don’t like the model where UT abuse the you know what out of us would the insane amount of ads and then extract money to stop doing it. Every creator I have talked to has been unaware of it that’s how it was working now. I can put up with a reasonable amount that the creators allow. But if they saw what was happening to their videos I feel fairly sure they would go back in and change their setting on that video, because they wouldn’t even watch that many.

Instead of all that TP that takes up precious room. You should install a bidet you will use 2/3s less TP
On a boat you're kinda limited with space..
