Paul is dead theorists believe that the bass was buried with Paul. But that’s obviously not true for two reasons. Firstly, the funeral wouldn’t be held 3 years after Paul died (he “died” in 1966 and lost his bass in 1969). And secondly, the original bass was literally found. So the theorists have some explaining to do.
Legendary job mate! Easily the greatest most accurate cover of get back out there! Can’t believe you also included the additional audio from album version! Absolutely nailed them tones and playing, especially having Lennons’s slapping at the start! Definitely passed the audition here!
That was EXCELLENT! I was listening to this song just the other day, marveling at how easily Lennon moves between rythym and lead lines flawlessly. If I could just play the rythym parts alone, I'd be happy.
You nailed that slide up to A on John's part in the intro. I've never seen anyone do it. Years ago when I heard John's isolated guitar that's when I first heard that slide and wish more folks knew about it
Love it Sam you definitely are a true Beatle fan. They would would love you as you keep there music alive and show the talent they had and I'm thankful you are dedicated to play the best music ever. Love it Sam ❤️
Nice! It's a shame the cameras weren't rolling for the album version (backed up by lack of 50Hz ground hum on both Nagra rolls) - all the clips in Get Back were flown in from other takes.
Awesome cover, Sam! I prefer the single version of the song, as it is the full version of the song with the coda as Paul had intended. I also enjoyed the three takes from the rooftop concert as well!
At this point in their time together as a band, John and George had just about flipped their roles of who played lead and who was rhythm. Excellent work on your part, by the way.
I actually think the opposite. George had been listening to The Band. Robbie Robertson played very sparse guitar but tastefully. George was letting John take the lead and adding rhythm without being in your face
Love it - you're one of the first people on youtube I've seen who actually got John's tone right on this one. It's definitely the bridge pickup with the tone backed off quite a bit. i think John did this quite a lot, even in the early days.

Do you know if this is the same version used on the Let It Be… Naked album? It’s my favorite album, and if it isn’t the same, I would love to see you do a cover of that version with how well you did this one!
It’s interesting that you’re having trouble getting the Silverface Fender to distort. I’ve got a 72 Super Six (same circuit as the 68 Twin) and the moment I get to about 6 or 7 with my casino plugged right into that thing it starts sounding like that crunchy 1969 tone. Idk, may be worth experimenting
No issue getting it to distort, in fact i had to back off the volume a lot because it was too honky. I was trying to nail the sound of the record, which was much cleaner than the rooftop crunch
@@sampopkinI must’ve commented this on the wrong video, I thought I remembered you saying in a description once that there was some mystery as to how the silver Fenders got that dirty. My apologies!
@@magraretsbane6274 No you're right, in regards to the rooftop tone it is surprising how those amps got so crunchy. But my silverface is a Pro Reverb, which is half the wattage so it makes more sense it would crunch harder than the 85w Twins
Great job again Sam. I am renaming you Sam the man or better yet Sam the Lennon man 😂 all kidding aside it’s sounded marvelous so did John bang on the treble pickup like that at the beginning?
Tone needs way less bass and more treble, tbh i dont understand how john got that tone, it's so mellow in the highs with not too much mids and bass while sounding almost trumpet like, must've used a compressor
The key is using bridge pickup with tone knob rolled way down. Into a silverface amp with a condenser mic in front. I was pretty happy with the tone I got, mostly because I used this exact setup^
I would say "if I close my eyes I can't know if it's the Beatles or it's you" but you dress like them, even with my eyes open I can't tell if it's you or them 😂
Great job! You nailed the tone of both guitars. Recently I have seen a few covers where the Epiphone's tone was bright and even using the neck pickup. Yours was spot on, well done!
Just saw your post on IG that they found McCartney’s missing Hofner. I never thought that it’d be found it my lifetime, but I’m happy it was
dude how much is that bass worth like 10 million? its used by the most successful bassist and songwriter of the 20th century
One of the biggest Beatles news headlines of the century! It’s finally back in Paul’s possession

@@DJcool-tr1tkThe theorists got confused and were driven nuts by by Paul growing a mustache. I hope to avoid them as much as possible.
You passed the audition!
Love the subtle tune-ups at the start. You covered everything! 😊
John's guitar-part is super-fun to play on this one. Great cover!

You're getting better every video. I mean, look how quick you changed those clothes!
Great as usual, Sam! Juicy guitar solo by John.
Great cover! Would like to see I Want You (She's So Heavy) cover in the future

This song has such a unique warm and soft tone all the way from the instruments to the vocals, captured perfectly in the cover as usual!

Hasta dan ganas de cantar 🎹🎸🎤. Excelente trabajo Sam !!!
It's not talked about as far as I know, but George is really groovy on rhythm guitar😮 Great cover as always :)
That Rosewood Tele somehow shines through even when playing the simplest parts. A beast.

Fantastic work Sam. I enjoyed this guitar cover. Keep them coming.👍
You nailed John's perfectly. So satisfying
At this point in their time together as a band, John and George had just about flipped their roles of who played lead and who was rhythm.
Excellent work on your part, by the way.
One of the best track to play on guitar, most particularly the Lead track...I kept on jamming on this one 🙂🙂
Now those are some contrasting guitar tones. They work well together though. Filling in each other’s deficits. Playing on point as usual
Clicked on it as soon as I got the notification
Watching this and seeing George's part, you can't help but wonder if mentally George had already checked out of the Beatles at this point.
I actually think the opposite. George had been listening to The Band. Robbie Robertson played very sparse guitar but tastefully. George was letting John take the lead and adding rhythm without being in your face
What can I say ? Always great our maestro on the guitars!!!
1st Beatles song I learned all those years ago…still learned a couple things from ol’ Sam. Thanks man > your usual excellent work👍🏼
Just perfect Sam! Auguri!
This is one of your best covers

Beautifully done. Love the intro notes. Sound is spot on!
Stellar stuff. Very inspiring. I'd like to say thanks on behalf of myself and the internet.
Hi Sam, I was hoping you were planning this cover. I really appreciate it, the tone is perfect and the casino sounds amazing :)
Love your detailed bookmarks
Great work Sam. Love the warmup in the beginning just like the original.
Epiphone and Tele are a great combiantion. Each one with its own sound
You always NAIL IT! Perfect😁
So meticulous, pretty sure you passed the audition haha! Congrats on Beatlesfest btw!
Thanks Evy!
Absolutely fantastic have a wonderful day Sam 😊❤
I love the all rosewood tele❤
Aside the amazing cover, is a great resource for learning the parts!
That’s why I do it! Thanks
Excellent job Sam! 👏
No one could get this close! Good one
How are you so accurate?! Incredible!!🤩
Gonna have this on repeat for awhile :)
Que maravilla, Sam! Que pena que empecé muy viejo a aprender a tocar la guitarra 😅
Cool video, great that you included the intro
Earned a sub. Also I’m hoping to get a rosewood fender tele soon.
Amazing as usual
I never noticed that quick open string G chord John does after the "solo" bits. Need to incorporate that in my playing
Once again, I'd like to give a shout-out to the wardrobe departments' accuracy.
1 to 1! Excellent job
Love it!
Lots of fun😙😙😙😙💓
Cool
Great stuff, like clockwork!
Do revolution next
He has privately told me that that’s next
Amazing!
that's too insane
Fantastic!!
Maybe this song it's the Best lead guitar of John, has a good ear to fill all parts who needed
Yeah, the beginning tune up is great
Fantastic job man
Perfection 😎👌🏼
Great stuff! Any chance you could eventually tackle "Who Can See It" or "That Is All" by George?
Could you do "In My Life"? That would be great to see some day!

You killed it as usual Sam. Could you do a cover of paperback writer in the future?
He’s privately informed me that he’s waiting until he gets a Gretsch 6120

I think George's first wobbly note was on the 10th fret of the B string.
