Great list! I miss the HR-2510 I owned, and if I could get another that was in at least pretty good condition and set up like mine was, I would probably buy it LOL. Mine was bought new, expanded and tuned. Then a couple that I knew that worked at ITT did some surgery on it. They did the chip switch mod on it and all of the best mods available. The only things I didn't have them add was noise toys, or echo...I wanted it clean. Once I figured out how the chip worked, that thing was unstoppable, especially when I added the 102" ss whip! Then a new mod was available from my ITT friends...upgraded finals. I really wanted to go full monte on the radio itself, but at the same time, I could get a really good amp that would give me higher power and just as clean of signal. I decided to forego the finals and got a (if I remember correctly) Killer Bee 300?? It was basically a Texas Star 250, but after full testing a bit better. It came from a friend of mine who was also a friend of ITT folks. Winter came and it started becoming too cold to sit in the car just to talk. A local friend of mine had a 70's model Star Duster, so I bought that, then headed to the local radio shop, and picked up a power supply and a D-104 Silver Eagle. I had an all metal roof on the house, so it worked all together like a huge ground plane. With either system I could talk to anyone I could hear (minus Superbowl channels 6 and 11). The following spring I decided to experiment with a DIY beam that my GF's step dad gave me plans for. Called a Dream Beam, it was basically 1/2" thick 12"x12" plywood painted, and 4 pieces of EMT conduit (wish I could get those plans again). It basically looked similar to a half of an Cubical-Quad antenna, or an Avanti PDL II without the egg beater or radiation wire. For fun, I pulled the car right up beside the house and talked to 818 Jamaica on SuperBowl 6! What a blast!

Thomas , I still have my HR2510 ... it has always been one my favorite radios . I've had mine for roughly 16 or 17 years now , and it has always been one of the top performing radios in my collection . It went to Bob's CB right around the same time I bought it , and had some really great modifications done to it. No echo or noise toys because I don't get into that stuff myself ... but adjustable RF power , channel mods , and so on. It's frequency coverage is great . Thanks for watching the video , and for the conversation .

There's a OTR trucker I watch on UA-cam, ClutchTrucker and uses that little Batman bit in his videos too. A funny guy too.

I've got the HR2510 that a good friend gave me last year. It was totally dead, but with some luck, I got it back to life and is still working great and so does the power output. I just tuned down the TX power on AM to 4 watts since their finals are hard to find now a days. Matched it up with a Turner Super Sidekick and a rotatable dipole. In fact, I have made contacts to 28 countries with it both on 10 and 11 meters with a total contacts of a 100 plus. Farthest contact I've made was Brazil which is more than 19,000 plus kms from where I'm at. This rig sure is a keeper. I'm planning to change all the caps just to be sure. Thanks for this video and all the best. P.S. Can you do a video on the best HF radios from the 80's to the early 90's? Thanks.

I have a Eagle 5000 which is a clone of the 2990 or the Saturn Turbo. I also have a HR2510. Love both of these radios and wouldn't sell them for the average going rate.

I am familiar with the Eagle 5000 . I've never owned one, ran one, or heard one before . But I have seen them and read about them . It's definitely not a radio that you see everyday . As for the HR-2510 , I've owned one of those for close to 20 years now , and I love those radios . In both cases , I wouldn't let them go either.

I'm glad you liked it Dallas . I still have the 2950 & the HR-2510 , but I've had a few of the radios in this list over the years , and got rid of them over time ... I wish I never got rid of them , they're all great radios .

I can understand why they would be hard to find. They are nice looking radios! I thought about you the other day when I found my 1976 Western Auto 23 channel cb I bought when I worked at the local store here in town. Needless to say I am excited. Missing the faceplate and needs to be cleaned up but I am hopeful. It’s a keeper either way. Thanks for your videos.

The RCI-2995 is definitely a GREAT radio ... I have a friend here in my area that has one and he sounds great . But it didn't make this list because this list was for the rarest Export CB Radios you could find , and they're still making the RCI-2995 ... you can buy it anywhere online

Some radios on your list are currently in production while others are no longer made. Since I bought a President Grant II (2) I have yet to even hear about hide nor hair of another one and I challenge anyone with no ties to England to find another in North America.

Hi Joe , to be honest until you asked this , I had never heard of the Nato 2000 before. So I looked it up and noticed that it's a British CB radio. I'm in America , so I don't know much about British CB radios. But maybe I'll check into them in the near future.

I like the radios but for practical purposes they are mostly overpriced when you can buy a brand new quad 6 for much less.

Honestly I prefer solid state & tube equipment over surface mount , so I'd buy the older stuff before I'd buy a "Quad 6" .
