That's probably the most epic intro to a blues song I've ever heard... just after the piano and guitar bit when the drums come in at 1:41, Slash starts the sucker WAILING away...
It's not quite his song really since it's actually a standard blues jam made famous by BB King, but he has made it his own with no doubt. The music Industry does need more jams like this one nowadays with grit, attitude and soul besides the bubblegum pop/trap beat rap/"Despacito" beat infused BS that's out there.
Is it just me or can you tell Slash was goin through some shit when he played this? Like you can hear the pain and agony in every note....which isn't a bad thing
Definitely hurt. He just left gnr, cut ties with alot of friends, just got though a divorce, battled alcohol and heroin. I’m sure tons of other stuff going on behind the scenes we don’t know about
BLUES ALBUM COMING IN 2024! Hopefully he gets back in this headspace. This is incredible
That intro is just Slash at his best
My God he played incredible on this version....deep in the addiction and heartbreak....just out of this world that intro...
First time I met Slash after the Blue's Ball show at the Coach House, San Juan Capistrano, in November '96.. wow! awesome memories...
