@Adanalı 01 since the church predates the reformation it was literally a Catholic Church at one point. Different church different policy on ordination. Similar form of service. We are more alike than different. The C of E is quite tiny. Even with spreading itself around the globe to occupy it for centuries. 25 million in England versus a billion Catholics globally. Course more groups splintered from their own split. I’m grateful for the chance to see a service so I can experience it.

I was brought up a Catholic and never have I been so moved and touched and moved by this recorded service. I could smell the incense and hear the crinkling of the celebrants' vestments and the Vicar's moving word's of action to all Christ's children. I don't care that the celebrant was a woman, I have never seen anything more meaningful than the sight of a female celebrant at the altar. I am confident God in Heaven is accepting of this inclusion of all in his church and caretakers of his flock. I beleive women were quite active in the early Christian church, using their homes as meeting places for sharing Christian faith. I am only sorry that I, as many of us are, not able to be present in churches throughout our communities for the celebration of Christmas and Sunday worship during this pandemic. Christmas was not a celebretory as usual, it hurts to have to be away from our places of worship. God please alleviate us from the dangers of the present so we may return to worshipping you in community of faith! Thank you BBC and All Saints Church!
You can tell right away that this is an Anglican service because the congregation sings, unlike a RC service. I don't know how things are weekly in England, but in my Grace Episcopal Church in Alexandria Virginia USA this is the way it is every week with 5 services each Sunday. The church seats about 250.

Yes, we are quite happy to sing in Anglican churches in England. I go to a small parish church in the suburbs of a big city, there are usually about 40-60 of us, one service a Sunday. There is a choir, but we all sing - maybe not that well, but...OK.
This was absolutely wonderful. I loved all of the singing, the apparent willingness of the congregation to SING when expected to (the dream of every organist!), as an organist I loved hearing the organ and the lovely acoustics of that church. I was hoping to see the organ console and a better glimpse of the pipe facade, but thanks for the link to the information on the organ in the description. Never a bad service televised from England, never.
Mark, I watch the service at the Washington National Cathedral every week. The organ there too is wonderful, and I often wonder about the skill of the organist. It truly is an art! I love all of you! God bless!

There are LOTS of churches here in the United States where that simply doesn't happen. I grew up an Episcopalian and the congregations would sing in most cases but I witnessed that as a boy chorister from 1967 to 1973 and later in life as a substitute organist. The rare Catholic service I'd go to perhaps just to hear the organ and organist (like a friend), the congregation would stand there during hymns (or in their case, 'songs') like a statue in the park being soiled on by pigeons. They do sing in the Methodist Church that I currently play in though, but despite the denomination, there's no comparison between the congregations here and those of the United Kingdom. I have a friend here from Liverpool who recognised a hymn that I played in one of my videos from school back home that they used to sing he told me. Church of England parishes are broadly "broad to high church" in liturgy, whereas due to political and historical events the Church of Ireland is more "low church" in liturgy.

I have visited St Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin, but I felt it was not that low church as I was expected. Yes, they certainly don't wear chasubles or other Eucharist vestments (maybe a cope is ok?), and of course no incense, but the whole liturgy and music setting were fantastic, and the building itself was well decorated with sculptures and other ornaments. I have noticed that they generally didn't elevate the host during the consecration, but after the break of host (they did use wafers) , the priest showed people the sacrament with an elevation, but one thing was interesting, not like modern RC churches, the cathedral was using the high altar always and the celebrant was toward east.

Anglican Church itself could be interpreted as English Church, which was almost equal to Church of England, although now it refers to those derived churches sharing similar polity, liturgy and belief as CoE.

The CoE is far more diverse than other Anglican churches, you can find those very conservative high churchmen, some believe in the spiritual authority of pope, liberal high churchmen, conservative and liberal evangelicals, even newly emerged Pentecostalist.

Why did the priest disturb a (thankfully) sleeping infant? Great homily,though. Beautiful liturgy. Robust singing immediately told me Anglican not RC. AND...the curate,and father of the borrowed infant, is American,a Southern accent.

Thomas Cranmer, prime author of the Book of Common Prayer and Henry's son the boy-king Edward and his advisers, and the continental reformers and last but not least Elizabeth I had far more to do with Anglicanism. Henry, may have opened the door but he was never an Anglican as he only attended the Latin Catholic mass, the only lawful service in his time. An excommunicated Roman Catholic is still a Catholic as was his situation.
Well, it's not really about women being added to the priesthood because there are evil people everywhere. The protestant viewpoint is more along the lines of not letting priests get married leads to people being more likely to take out their temptations on innocent victims. In the Anglican tradition, priests can get married and have a normal family life.
The parishioners of my local Anglican church had apoplexy that someone wanted to donate a simply cross for the Communion Table. Now the church wouldn't be without it. Just like female priests...they do some things better than the guys
