to answer your question about crashing for me at least being a scooter rider and skateboarder it is all about being used to falling and more importantly how to fall but it is partly muscle memory of when to bail safely and hoy to jump off on to your feet so you dont fall

We lived in a town with a street called Hill Street, and it had the steepest hills you ever seen. Of course me being 12 or 13 something like that hada try to bomb down the hill with my scooter.. my brother was following behind me in his car yelling out how fast I was going. Like "15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45" an then I got the speed wobbles and must have slid for 100 ft. Ruined my pants big giant holes everywhere. Luckily I just had a few scrapes nothing serious. But I'll never forget how sketchy it was going that fast on a razor scooter lol.
