Hey Daniel, Gold Medal sells 5 gallon food safe bags that you use to mix the shaker powders. That's what we use. It makes it a whole lot easier, and the corn is coated more evenly.
@@DanielSchmidt94521 #1) Kettle Corn #2) Caramel #3) Caramel/Apple #4) Trix Mix #5) Cheese Corn Please understand I only go to festivals where there is a lot of foot traffic, so I don't usually get to do many flavors.
@@DanielSchmidt94521 It sells ok. I usually only make one batch at the beginning of the show which will yeild 18 of the 8"x18" bags. They usually sell quickly. The Trix Mix is made up of 8 fruity flavors that yields around 48 bags (Big shows only). The cheese corn doesn't stay fresh as long, so we don't make a lot of it.
Yes. I was doing bags earlier myself trash bags. But I went to Restaurant Depot and I bought one of those plastic food safe bins and it saves me half the time in putting bags out on the table.
When popping flavored bags of different types, such as jalapeno, or cheddar corns, do you have to clean your kettle from previous flavors- ???? I'm a newbie, so I need a little information from you regulars !!!! Thanks Daniel - - - 👍👍 How about 'caramel-? does that require cleaning prior to say, sweet & salty- ? So far, I have had NO complaints regarding sweet & salty, but I'm slightly Leary of switching from one flavor to the next, using the same kettle, without separate cleanings. Thanks again. I very much like your videos !!!! Walt
If you see in my videos. I use a food safe bin and transfer the popcorn in the food safe bin and then taste it and bag from the food safe bin. If you have a restaurant supply store you can get one I got that one fits perfectly in my vehicle. I start off with white cheddar, then do a sweet cheese. The container you can use for multiple cheeses so I start with white cheddar. Then when I'm done I do a cleaning of the food safe bin because I pop flavors with no sugar on it and with sugar on it don't have a problem. For caramel corn I wait till the bowl heats up and I add the caramel corn glaze I use my paddle to scrape the caramel even if the caramel corn glaze gets in the kettle it's not that big of a deal it's still sugar.
No problem. These are things that you learn as you go along. You test out which spices are great and which ones don't work. I bought the Nacho flavor and the Pina Colada and they both taste horrible. I once thought of adding joy sauce thinking of making hot sauce popcorn, using a liquid bottle, it evaporated into the air and burned the popcorn this was during the market. Lol. Everyone's eyes hurt for a few minutes. I then did a white cheddar old bay and never sold. But kettle corn and caramel corn old bay sell out. So. You just have to experiment and do your own research. Dill Pickle, Sweet Cheese, Siracha Cheddar, Garlic Parmesan, Jalapeno Cheddar and white cheddar are my most popular specials.
EXCELLENT VIDEO...
Thank you so much for sharing this GREAT video...
Did you try out your caramel corn?
YEA... Closed Caption (CC)...
Thank YOU Daniel so much... That helps a lot when you are outdoors...

@@bryanpearce4440 How does the Caramel Apple sell? I think I will do that one next week.
@@bryanpearce4440 Yeah my markets usually average $300-$500 or so which gives me time to experiment.

Oh man that would probably taste great!
Nice work! Looks great!

The audio came out pretty good in this video.
Two guys walking by smoking a joint @ 2:15 😆 I'm sure sales will be good!🙂
That's funny. I didn't notice.
Do you put the Butter PAM Spray on this as well to make it stick?
That is a great idea...
Yes I do. That really helps the flavor to stick.
What about chocolate I made some tonite but put cocoa powder on too early I think
YOU put straight Cocoa Powder on your popcorn? Did you add Sugar first?
How did it come out... I would think Bitter...
Sugar in it but I think it cooled the oil down too much it’s probably best to mix it in as it’s popping or after it’s popped
Try a brownie mix. I used a Hershey's Brownie Mix for chocolate and it came out great.
