Behind.Tololing and pt 5140 lies Shailendra Spur. Pak had constr bunkers with a novel method to provide protection from our Artillery fire - the top of the bunkers in this complex was ( its still there ) made of steel reinforced concrete columns stacked loosely & horizontally on top of each other This mesh of concrete was so strong that one shell landing directly would takeout only one pillar while the ones stacked under it were untouched ....therefore the troops under were very well protected from indian artillery under layers of such pillars which was their overhead protection This indicated that there was adequate time to construct this complex . Given that there are only a few months available each year in the summers . My estimate would be that it took at least three years to make such a complex . But as luck would have it that after the fall of foward features like like Hump , three pimples and Tololing & 5140 and Area Hotel subsequently the morale was too low when the fight reached this area and the Enemy simply abandoned these defences .....not having the heart to fight as he was already outflanked

This will be tough to digest the reality that the Kargil war was worst planning & execution of any war in Indian history. The sacrifices made were not required in that much amount. Foot soldiers were sent without any technological support from behind & they were made to sacrifice. We won the war finally but on the cost of huge loss. Soldiers fought well & hats off to them. But top generals & defense ministry should be blamed for such huge losses. Jai Hind

Army generals made big mistake, by sending troops early to peeks. They should have waited and analyzed the enemy first, and then started the attack. We lost many brave soldiers, we could have saved them

And as for your second question regarding AAGs, range is a factor and another would be artillery fire can be precise and the amount of devastation by artillery can bring in the factor of shock and awe, making the enemies keep their heads down.
My grand father also join this war from Gorkha regiment at the age of 18 his have been join several months ago only he fortunately become a part of this war,in war time rapid gun firing that time his Rifle jam he cries 😢and friends faces many problem when there cold 🥶 temperature

Once all weather Zojila tunnel completes in 2027, connectivity to Srinagar, Dras, Kargil, Minamarg, Leh will be within hours rather than a day during Kargil war times. From military aspect the Zojila portals will be a game changer.

Tiger Hill and tololing hill were a distraction. The highest point Peak 5353 is the one that keeps Indias national highway connecting Srinagar and Leh.

@@pukhtoonistan007 their were over 50 plus peaks that were over run by pakis, in 99 . 21 in batalik only Indian army captured most of them point 5353 if you say I have been with the flag party that is hosted on every 26 July I am aware of which peak is where and it took our guy few odd minutes to host flag at tiger hill every year. So even after winning all those peaks if their are2 or 3 off peaks that were not captured and infact 5353 was taken in 72 soo stop it man but considering what you are saying. Losing 2 or 3 peaks and after that over runnig almost every peak that was taken by pakis captured is not a win? Shut upp mann it is same as glorifying thos 2.5 km of ar controlled just out of Siachen and considering all 2500 sq km of glacier that is with India a loss
From what I heard in this , means that Pakistanis had us in deep shit throughout. Even though we eventually over came them but it took almost 4 months. Not sure who lost or who won..

Once all weather Zojila tunnel completes in 2027, connectivity to Srinagar, Dras, Kargil, Minamarg, Leh will be within hours rather than a day during Kargil war times. From military aspect the Zojila portals will be a game changer.

@@pukhtoonistan007 their were over 50 plus peaks that were over run by pakis, in 99 . 21 in batalik only Indian army captured most of them point 5353 if you say I have been with the flag party that is hosted on every 26 July I am aware of which peak is where and it took our guy few odd minutes to host flag at tiger hill every year. So even after winning all those peaks if their are2 or 3 off peaks that were not captured and infact 5353 was taken in 72 soo stop it man but considering what you are saying. Losing 2 or 3 peaks and after that over runnig almost every peak that was taken by pakis captured is not a win? Shut upp mann it is same as glorifying thos 2.5 km of ar controlled just out of Siachen and considering all 2500 sq km of glacier that is with India a loss
