I am picking pieces to use from this curriculum. I will be doing little house in the big woods. Which other ones look like favorites to you? I was thinking of Pedro's journey to teach the explorers history tie in. We are canadian so some of the American geography is unnecessary for us at this point. Thanks for the video!

We just purchased the whole year for my 8 and 10 year old! We are very excited! It’s a little intimidating, we are coming from TGTB and the black and white is taking some getting used to. My kids love color so hopefully they can adjust.
Any tips? Did your kids have an adjustment period?
It is very different than TGAB. It actually took me longer to adjust than my kids. I would recommend reading through the lesson first, not during school time, looking over the activities and choosing what you will complete. The activities always vary in how much time they take, so if you don't get to all of them it's ok. Either skip or save for another day. The reading can also be challenging if you aren't used to having your kids read that much. I used to use audiobooks, taking turns reading aloud, now they just read independently. You can also have them complete the reading the day before and then do the discussion questions and activities. Make it work for you! I have a couple do a lesson with us videos on my channel so you can get an idea of how a lesson works.

I'm planning on using a few of these next year, but we're also starting IEW Structure & Style. If you're still using IEW next year, are you planning on modifying how much writing your girls are doing from MBTP?
We will not be using IEW this upcoming year….we did however use it this year along side some MBTP units and I just had to balance it if they ending up working on two papers at the same time. There isn’t a full paper in every MBTP unit so it wasn’t that lunch of an issue

No not that I saw

How long does each unit take to complete? A month?
It takes us about 3 -4 weeks doing school 3x a week

They do have a spelling program included online
