Interesting. 40 years ago, "Hey everyone, a new idea, let's consolidate all the processing on a back-end common server. That's where the power is." 30 years ago, "Hey everyone, a new idea, let's distribute the processing to individual computers. That's where the users and uses are." 20 years ago, "Hey everyone, a new idea, let's consolidate all the processing on the back-end. That's where the big data storage is." 10 years ago, "Hey everyone, a new idea, let's distribute the processing to individual computers. All those machines are super powerful." 5 years ago, "Hey everyone, a new idea, let's consolidate all the processing on the back-end. That way we can control access and applications." now, "Hey everyone, a new idea, let's distribute the processing to computers at locations. That should speed things up for users." future, "Hey everyone, a new idea, I think we're living in a consolidated system. Yup, the matrix."
To simplify the presentation, I didn't get into specific cloud technologies, but they're a big part of the overall picture. Data security: Since these servers are hosted on the CSP's infrastructure, they can assure tenant isolation, i.e., tenants cannot "see" each others apps or data. Consolidations: Not certain what you mean here... if data consolidation, for example, it could be done via SaaS databases, just as any cloud-native app. Software version management: It is done via CI/CD tools that deliver the correct version to the edge - search on "IBM Edge Application Manager" for more details.
Thanks for letting us know... The markers were dry and squeaked loudly in the original recording; suppressing them in the playback may have caused the dropouts you heard in the final version. Next time I'll avoid pressing so hard!
It's a glass with LED lights on the edges that help illuminate the Expo neon dry marker writing. Search on "how to setup a lightboard" for lots of tutorials, including DIY instructions. The video is captured through the glass and flipped in post-production (that's why it shows me as left-handed even though I write right-handed).
It's just brilliant how you make every concept to be easily understood.
Thank you 🙂
Thanks for the feedback, Darshan! 👍
Interesting.

No you forgot the cloud that is edge computing.
Wow, this is great! thank you for making this video.
Great stuff! Really enjoyed your video, it just clicked for me after watching this!
so concise and easy explanation! thx
well explained , edge computing and multi access edge computing..
Great explanation for beginners like me 😄
Glad you found it useful! 🙏 Stay tuned for more videos like this.
Could you please add the subtitle on each training video? Thank you very much!
how about security of data? consolidations ? and version management?

What is edge cloud then?
The audio on this is REALLY weirdly mixed

How you write in neon?

This just sells more IBM service and equipment. Very costly. Cha Ching!
