Times like this I wish HardLight would revert the starting rings change.
It basically makes it so that today’s lvl1 Special or Challenger character can keep up with the competition in the same way as a lvl9 character before the starting ring change. And Special/Challenger characters are the most busted in the game. Even though Super Rares get the same starting ring treatment, they all still struggle against Specials/Challengers. That’s one of the main reasons as to why it’s so easy to cook with low levels nowadays. You don’t have to upgrade a character at all to show some sort of strength, and if their items are busted, may as well just leave them at a low level.
That should not be the case since it’s never a fair race from the start unless everyone is using a Super Rare/Special/Challenger character. Setting all rarities back to max 35 rings would be a step in the right direction, but this is HardLight we’re talking about 😐

The starting ring change screwed over commons. They’re now very difficult to use since low level specials/challengers can keep up with you. It sucks

Today is May 14 2024, 3rd year release anniversary of DJ Vector and Punk Zazz! 36 months, And still being in the top 5 list, (Currently only being beaten by the Dragon characters) is absolutely Insane!

The change in Starting Rings was what made most Players no longer use Common characters, now a level 1 Special and Challenger character can destroy any other. If you want to use a broken character you don't even need to level it up, in fact, with a low level it only makes it easier to save the Boost, but even so they can all keep up with level 16 characters.
In fact, if they want people to spend money on characters I suggest they don't make a character that only needs to be at level 1 to guarantee Wins. 😮‍💨

okay i'm ngl, i doubted pandamy for a little bit because let's be real, she was atrocious to play on release at low lvls 🏴‍☠️
i didn't even NOTICE the ring buff until i actually watched the other players for a minute like 5 matches after.. but uhm yeah surge got a nerf, but still got that nerf balanced with a buff, as per usual hardlight screw up..
