These are darling! My daughter covered the seats of 2 antique kitchen chairs with this technique! She punched out hexagons and drew the stitches just like this! It looked like a quilt! So pretty! Thank you Lindsay!
This brings back fond memories of my mom quilting. Her quilting was amazing. She also quilted a ton of sampler quilts and that's what this card reminds me of. She would have loved these cards as do I.
Lindsay, This is such a cool idea. It really made my creative juices kick in. Love this. Finally pushed me over the edge on those peg stamps too. Awesome! Thank you. God Bless Cathy
My grandma was a wonderful quilter. Of course, these cards remind me of her and I know she would have loved these, especially since they are homemade. So I will make some and send to the family. I love any type of "quilted" card whether it be with triangles, hexagons or a stars, etc. I might go so far as to use batting under the paper to make each piece puff a little. I admire anyone that actually stitches these!!!😀
In case you're interested, Lindsay also has a few other 'quilted' card videos where she shows how to puff the shapes up in others ways without using up your batting. They're v pretty,
Joanne Carroll Thanks so much for the information !!! I have seen a couple of the "quilt" cards by her but unaware that she puffs the shapes. I will check them out again.
Hi Lindsey, I haven't been on in awhile, been in the hospital having major back surgery. Home now and just so glad to see your video on these fun trees. I just ordered my first stamps from Rubber Stamp Tapestry. Great Company. I think I will try this with them You are so full of wonderful ideas, that's why we love ya. TYFS Blessings!
Such an easy way to make six cards...I actually thought from the photo, that you had used your sewing machine for the zig zags....Great job coloring those lines! Thanks for sharing.
What an awesome idea!!! I love these cards and gosh how they remind me of a time when my whole life was ahead of me... Thank you, Lindsay, for one more wonderful card idea :))) Love, Josi
So clever... ever quite know where your going with your design...but just keep following and then ...WOW ...it comes beautifully together...just like a quilt...love it! Tfs
hi Lindsay, great cards! I think this patchwork pattern is called "stack and whack", if anyone wants to see the fabric technique. It is a great fun pattern!!
Ha! In the thumbnail it looked like real stitches so I thought you just ran it through an old (for paper only) machine and then I see that it was just sharpie!! Great easy card and perfect to do with kids!. I mean I don’t have little kids , but I think it would be perfect for that and even for teachers with any shape they can think of!
One of my old machines is a really robust flat bed machine from the early 60s which sews tough denim & leather like a breeze, I've always wanted to try sewing paper with it, sounds like fun!
Oh Cool. I could do this with a large cookie cutter as the stencil, watercolor each tree, then use sharpie colors on the stamps. My daughter has a bunch of stamps but no ink pads. It, Could, Work!😁😘
thefrugalcrafter Lindsay Weirich Thanks Lindsey😁 I have very limited means, I have to use things I have. These are so nice and simple I can do them with the grandkids. Lovely country themed.
Try plain old crayola markers before sharpies, they may stain your stamps and dry before you can stamp them. With the plain markers you can breathe on them to reactivate right before you stamp. ☺
Just received my first 4 sets of Peg Stamps a few days ago, and am I ever having fun!! I am thinking I might try this for some of the MANY cards that I make for the Christmas holidays. Thanks for the great idea.
Jim Flack Congratulations on your first peg stamps. I still don't have any but after this video, I am getting some because of how small the patterns are. I don't buy stamp images this small. Have a good night!
I love this idea! I’m going to see if I have any stamps I can use to create something similar. Unfortunately I don’t really have the budget to buy any new crafting items right now but maybe I’ll be able to buy some of those peg stamps in the future.
I’m first to comment? Incredible. I love this idea! And how clever to make 5 trees then cut them up and mix up the pieces. I don’t have stamps but this project gives me ideas for using paint and possibly even a sewing machine to get a similar effect.

Super adorbs!! When I saw the thumbnail for your video, I was also fooled by the faux stitching!!! 🙋🏻😍😘💕 TFS
I love the homespun look. It reminds me of raggedy Anne and Andy. It's perfect for a wholesome Christmas :)
Love the cards, very pretty! I remember those BH&G books, my Mother got them too. 😊 I have 2 of them that belonged to her, and I treasure them. TFS, ❤
Lindsay,

Very cute and clever idea! Of course, one could use patterned paper in the same way, saving even more time if one has a lot of cards to send! :)
Cindy Matthews - That's exactly what I was thinking!
Wow! This is so quaint and pretty and adorable and I just want to hug them *hugs* -Marie
Hmmm, maybe easter eggs and valentine hearts could be done the same way. I am definitely gonna try them. Thanks lindsey
Cool! I could see this for Valentine's Day, as well.

Omg that's so creative and gorgeous. I'm going to have to do that. I need to find envelopes that will fit and it will be the perfect Christmas card.
Lindsay shows in some of her card vids how to make matching custom envelopes from your own paper in any size - really easy.

long yarn Thanks. I have those too. I'll try them. Though they are water soluble and I'll have to make sure they won't feather out on watercolors.
These are so sweet!
