Rachmaninoff's 3rd Piano Concerto is one of the hardest piano works at all and you have to learn it for many years to perform it great, but I think it worth it.
My favourite rendition of this magnificent cadenza is Bronfman, playing in this huge stadium. I have never heard anyone play the chords from 1:28 better than he does there.
@@mangomerkel2005 Don't get me wrong, Yuchan is really good, but Bronfman is the only performance I ever heard where he fully "gets" all 45 minutes of the piece, like he feels each section to his core.
Didn’t expect this! I love Yunchan Lim and his performance of Rachmaninov Piano Concerto No. 3, and I’m grateful that you posted this! Thank you for your hard work!
I live the stylistic choice of having eery branches with the moon in the background bc whenever i listen to the ossia cadenza it feels kinda macabre (Tim Burton like)
Wonderfull videos, I love how you exactly understand the music and the interpreters/composers intentions! Could you please do some Medtner, like the climax of 1st movement of his Night wind sonata, Coda of 3rd piano concerto, War sonata end of development, etc?

Great video! 10 years from now, we'll likely see entire orchestral scores be animated! I can't wait for that to happen! If it does, tho. Can you animate the finale of Mahler's second symphony, plssssss?
One of the best cadenzas of all times ♥ I mean I can see why rachmaninoff rewrote it and preferred the other cadenza he wrote later to be performed... but I still prefer the ossia :) Because I am an exaggerated person
That's one I really want to do but it's almost the same length as Ballade No. 4 in terms of pages, meaning it would take a similar amount of time. I do want to do it eventually though. Sorry for the late reply
@@wolowolowolowolowolowolowo2417 no worries i'll gladly watch whatever you decide to release :D also that cadenza being the same length as ballade 4 is absurd, really puts it into perspective huh
This is incredible, probably the closest any non-player can come to the feeling of playing in real time
legitimately true, you get almost the same sense of adrenaline and emotional turmoil you'd expect playing it
I’m so glad Yunchan Lim played the ossia cadenza when he performed this concerto the second time!
where is the recording tho

Meanwhile Lugansky learned it in a few days
This cadenza is so much better than the other version
I HAVE DREAMED OF THIS VIDEO FOR SO LONG
and the yunchan recording is my favourite as well
My favourite rendition of this magnificent cadenza is Bronfman, playing in this huge stadium. I have never heard anyone play the chords from 1:28 better than he does there.
His sound is like no other! Easily my favourite recording of this concerto
I've found Denis Matsuev to have a very chonky Rachmaninoff
Bronfman is leagues better than any other pianist who has ever played this concerto. It’s my favorite recording of any music performance, ever.
@nickadkins5679 Agree. People like Yunchan are way too overrated in my opinion.

please make more of these, my piano students love them, and I love anything that gets them excited about classical music
Will do🫡
Yunchan is a generational talent
Supernatural piano abilities!
Love the snowy blizzard background, it adds so much atmosphere.
Best piano concerto ever composed

My favourite video of yours so far
너무 감미롭고 아름다운 곡입니다. 어떻게 이런 곡을 작곡했는지…
Straordinario il testo e l autore.
Grande esecutore.
Cadenza impressionante e travolgente .
This dropped at the perfect timing when my fixation for this piece is at peak
My favorite moment in music history. Ever.
I forgot to request this cadenza, my favourite of all. I'm so glad you made this.
I always thought Volodos' performance of the cadenza was the best but damn, this one is even more dramatic
MY FAVORITE SONG GOT ANIMATED LETS GOOOOOOOOO

how many jpgs ?? :DDD
SLAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
And yet, people say that classical music is boring?
love :)
Some requests : Chopin's Allegro de Concert, Ravel's Ondine or Scarbo and Halfdan Cleve's Etude Op. 17 No. 2.
Olga Kern’s is the best to me
Would be insane if you make Chopin's Allegro de concerto coda
Can you do the original cadenza ?
Can you please do the end of Transcendendental Etude No 8? On Traums video, it is around the 4:17 mark
Scarbo when?
Will you also do the normal cadenza?
Lazar Berman is the owner of this, maybe Ashkenazy too.
Pls Brahms 2 concert🙏🙏🙏
