So glad that Le Butcherettes were signed. They’ve been at this for a long time and have been writing kick ass songs the whole time. The new video looks dope, the instrumental is haunting and Teri’s vocals are on point as always.

saw all the comments and was expecting something shit. But I actually really liked this song. The lead singer and her makeup did make me think of Iskwé a lot which was cool because I love her.

I hope they keep with the music, though - they show potential
As I watch Le Butcherett's and Terri's songwriting and music develop, I've learned two important things: 1) she's not going away and her art is evolving quickly and getting more sophisticated; 2) it's never going to be the same.
I'm not sure how I even found her. She could easily be one of the dozens of strong women from the Detroit garage rock scene but alas she's from Mexico and didnt even play Detroit this time. The Melvins played here in between her Chicago and Toronto shows and I was hoping/fantasizing she would do the whole show as their lead singer (see her Rebel Girl UA-cam video with them).
Regardless, this is an artist you should take as a whole, regardless of the latest release and your personal tastes. It's definitely going to be a wild ride!!!
It's not my favorite, but I hope the band continues making music and improving their sound. Maybe it's just this song I'm not a fan of, but I'd be willing to give these guys another shot
Flame Emerald They actually have a pretty deep discography. 3 or 4 other records. Older stuff was much more energetic and a bit heavier, less electronic. I recommend checking out their song My Mallely, or if you want more in your face stuff their song Shave the Pride.
it isn't that far away from other songs on that discography. they typically don't make those singles though so I am wondering if they are breaking away from the garage/classic rock sound. won't know until we hear the full the album.
Cry is For the Flies and Sin Sin SIn are excellent, very strong rock albums that really can't be classified. Also her band with members of At the Drive In, Crystal Fairy, is very good. It doesn't surprise me at all that she is pushing things, that's kinda what she does...(Terry Gender Bender that is).
It is strange, but I definitively like it. This is music that it is honest, not made just to please the audience.

Pierce Marratto he’s not officially credited with anything for this album. the only sign of him has been in BTS photos from the “give/UP” video shoot. he didn’t seem to be working, just kinda hanging out.
LB also made the move to Rise from Ipecac at the exact same time as ATDI. I guess it could be a coincidence, but prolly not?

I've seen these guys live with DFA. The bass player, guitarist/synth player, and drummer are all really talented. However, the singer was awful, there's no sugar coating it. She couldn't seem to hit any notes live, and she was as high as could be. This group could make awesome music if they just ditched their singer.
You are a hater. Teri Gender Bender is the best live performer/artist I've ever seen (and I've seen Nirvana, Nina Hagen, PJ Harvey, Tori Amos, X, ETC you name 'em). She tops them all. Been lucky enough to see Teri's band six times (various line ups, ALL were great but she is the captain of her ship). She ALWAYS gives her everything like her life depended on it, to top it off she is a hell of a song writer.
The singer is the songwriter, founder of the group and only original member.
Yes, the current line-up is very talented and I hope they hang around for longer than the normal rotation, but Le Butcherettes without Teri is a new band.
