@@SilversTaurus Sometimes, it's better to take a single throw than it is take huge damage off a throw bait. That's why you see the pros take throws so much, even if the throws seem obvious. Pros usually wanna play as safe as they can, so even though throw teching is rewarding because it prevents damage/resets to neutral, it's risky. Just look back at the last game in tournaments; throws were taken all the time.

I like the way punk plays jamie. It's very straightforward but super effective. Get the knockdown with the opponent, take a drink, win.
just weird that he never used his double palm strike while in drunk mode. shit is pretty much safe and does ridiculous damage, covers a whole lot of ground too.

It's the same play pattern you see from really good Chin Gentsai players in KoF, wild that it's so uncommon in SF6 but I'm sure people will pick it up eventually.

Grabbing 4 times in a row actually helped Punk to understand Fox's game style, notice how many times Punk got Fox to fall for shimmies after the 4 grabs in a row. Fox was expecting some kind of revenge and kept thinking Punk was going for grabs, but Punk was ice cold, unfazed by the grabs, used the situation in his favor. Very powerful composure and mind games.

That round showed how calm and collected Punk was. Really impressive gameplay.

Danggg bois, as a SF player since the 90's, I'm glad I stopped playing after SF4. This series now looks like Tekken did back in the day with Nintendo Splatoon effects.... I'm sticking with fighting games that have beautiful animation and at least try to emulate hand-drawn art like Guilty Gear and Dragon Ball FighterZ
Punk’s ability to close out the round while putting himself into burnout is shown off pretty well here.
Now I want a behind the scene how fast Jaime braids his hair after every match

7:22 - As a Virtua Fighter Player. That Command throw is as Vicious as Shun Di’s “Raising the Glass” guard breaking move when he has drinks in his system. I skipped V entirely. I would’ve felt at home because Ono choose the schematics of VF. This game took those schematics even further. The last 2 days playing this beta I can actually say. I was addicted to street fighter again. We in for something special this time around.

The King of fighters series is the king at that. It's a small detail but it's dope. There's some other old school fighting games that do that. Killer instinct 64 does but only at the end of a fight.

The first fight summarize what I expect from this game as a player and as a spectator. I mean, if you only watch the first few seconds of the match you can say: "we'll sonic has this" ¿right? Then a few seconds later punk got the lead, all this due to the amount of tools that you have in this game to be very agresive but at the cost that if you go bananas, you'll be punish for that, its not as spectacular combo heavy game. But it's agresive, entertaining, and with the all mighty comeback factor in full force. Damn this was a joy to watch.
All the characters have so far been such fun to watch.

I really love how the interactions here seems a lot more varied. I love Sf5 but people had a problem with the main mixup characters is shimmy, grab, or not. Drive impact looks quite silly and I love it.
I think SF fell off after ssf4 in my opinion and I get a tekken vibe with this game
Sonic Fox definitely has the combos and the knowledge of how much damage certain moves can do but punk definitely has better neutral and spacing to get those pokes in.. these two players are really good

The fighting animation looks so smooth
Jamie is like a combo of 3 different fighters. He's got Shun'ei's rolled up pant leg, Shun Di's "better moves the more you drink," and C. Viper's/Donovan's crazy long single braid. You just gotta love him!

Goddamn I can't wait to start playing, putting 100s of hours into Jamie immediately, such a fun and fluid character with a straightforward and powerful gimmick that makes him better at what he does. So impressed by the game and it isn't even out yet
Visually speaking, the Drunk master gimmick with a dark tall and handsome hip hop kinda style is pretty damn great.

The lack of use of drive impact especially in the corner makes me wonder how nutty and unpredictable high level matches will be or will the possibility of spamming DI and its predictability prevent it from being a viable mechanic in competitive matches
It seems pretty reactable, which might make it weak in a game with a parry system. I think it'll be strong but used sparingly.

SonicFox's execution is as crisp as always, but man did Punks spacing and neutral game win him this one.
That one round was awesome. Sonicfox threw Punk a few times. Then Punk repaid that same round with walk back and then forward options on Sonicfox during wakeup (forgot the name of what that is called).

The neutral in alot of these matches seems kinda strange. So often when the drive gauges are low, there will just be these staring matches. Too dangerous to wiff, so no one throws out anything. It will be interesting to see if this is a knowledge check they just dont have cause the system is so new, or if waiting for drive gauge is going to be the new standard in tournament.
