I started watching your videos at the beginning of COVID to learn EU4 since then I've moved on to CK3 and Vicky so I don't get to watch your videos as much but any time you post a Vicky video I'm always there. Thank you for doing what you do I learned the most from you. I am getting ready to learn HOI4 gonna go and watch some of your beginners guides there isn't many that are up to date nowadays.
Ludus Maximus, you should try a culture shifting run starting as Bohemia > reform Austria > reform Poland > Commonwealth > centralize HRE. It is... very good.
I just had a such an insane Austria run myself, I had PUs over Hungary, Bohemia, Burgundy, Saxony, Thüringen, Brandenburg, Pfalz, Milan, Poland, Denmark, Naples, Spain and Russia
Burgundy most likely lost Brabant to pretender rebels. Sometimes the AI just lets them win. Thats why you need to check if thats happening every now and then if you re going for the inheritance so you can prevent this by killing the rebels.
First possible explanation - yes, burgundy rivaled provence and couldn't get access to deal with the rebels. Second one - ai doesn't keep their relations high enough and got 'backwards monarch' opinion modifier just before ruler's death.
If you're a chadlord and you know it clap your finger on this video... ua-cam.com/video/3FMUgVMyy8c/v-deo.html Edit: for those asking about how many alt f4 I had in this run I think around 3, fucked up peace treaty with poland cause I gave wallachia 2 provinces instead of 3 and another 2 times cause of bad dicerolls with ottoman troops xD
I literally ended a campaign as Brandenburg because Stettin didn't fall, and after 1400days I just got 21% (and it was full sieges all the time... the dice rolls fucked me so hard I restarted the campaign)
That sucks even more then losing a war because your ally Castille/Spain decided to move all their troops to the new world after (!) you declared in europe.
Just wondered about the 90% chance that Hungary chooses the german king in the event, because in my recent games I never saw Austria getting the PU so I checked the Wiki and it says that the chance the AI picking the "german king" option (PU under Austria) is only 25%. So when you doesn't want to peobably Alt+F4 a couple times it's always better to take the PU casus belli and declare war. Definetly would love to see a full Austria run
This run certainly seems to have started well, so seeing more would be interesting. Though is the Castillian inheritance was gotten soon after, that certainly would make for an 'interesting' coalition situation.
Ludi. Take prague instead of the gold mine for the IA growth!! Especially since you will take Hon and Kosovo anyways! You can revoke by 1505-1525 with it depending on rng.
Did anything change with burgundian inheritance in my last 3 campaigns Austria,Castille and Naples charles always got an heir and the burgundian inheritance basically never happened. Did the increase the odds of Chares getting heir or simply horrible RnG cause i was literally reloading especially in the austrian and Castillian one to have burgundy not rival.
the Burgundian inheritance still fires if Charles has an heir, the only way it cant fire is if Charles dies when Phillip or Isabella is ruler, or if they choose to remain independent but i think they added Brittany as a historical friend to Burgundy which is what has happened to me with Brittany getting the inheritance, but i think i know what your problem is, Burgundy is probably too powerful, its based of if the AI is stronger than France, if they are, they will remain independent, so maybe just royal marry them and ally them later and don't interfere with France
That what jong told. But there is something important to add to this. Charles can get an heir indeed and the heirs claim will drop pretty quickly due to the succession crisis modifier Burgundy has. As soon its under 50, the inheritance will happen. However, you can get super unlucky. Thats when Charles gets a >50 claim heir and dies soon after so the modifier didnt have enough time to drop the heirs claim under 50. Then the inheritance wont happen. Had this recently. Charles 0 claim heir died, followed by a 86 claim brother and Charles death within 3 months. If you regularly check Burgundys heir, you can prevent this by savescumming.
Tried this campaign a few days ago and got crushed by the Ottomans because of the Holy War CB. Ottomans massacred my allies and subjects while my armies tried to siege down their forts, then France intervened on the side of the Ottomans just as they peaced out my Polish ally. So would recommend you have a truce with France before going for the Ottobros.
@@TheSuperappelflap This takes a while. Cause you wont get stackwipes against the Ottos unless you almost fully sieged them down or you have naval superiority. Its better to siege them asap while they re still busy in another war.
On very hard right? I find it hard to believe otherwise, also it depends on when you attack them, like Ludi said, gotta take them down early, ottoman in the early are extremely easy to "turn off"
Why stop at Europe? In one of my Austria games, Japan went Catholic and I got a von Habsburg on their throne. Shogun Yoshitsune 1 von Habsburg. On monarch death, Succession War between Holy Roman Empire and Ethiopia.
I really want the super long series! I adore them so much.
So do I!
My pizza came out of the oven one minute ago. It's like God send me this video

Looks like somebodys game just crashed because that person forgot to include Wallachias cores in the peace deal 😂
Horrible stability this game has sometimes *wink wink*
pdx needs to fix their game bro, keeps crashing when I do stupid peace deals, its strange
08:49 regarding K. u. K - it’s a German abbreviation for “kaiserlich und Königlich” meaning imperial and royal in German 🇩🇪

Hey Ludi, great video! Would love to see the long version of this campaign

Ludus Maximus, you should try a culture shifting run starting as Bohemia > reform Austria > reform Poland > Commonwealth > centralize HRE. It is... very good.
Great video as always!
AEIOU love ya Ludi

I would love to see you take this campaign longer through the 1700s or 1800s.
A long series would be amazing
I want this to be a series or something, also I really like you are explaining. I am decent player of EU and I still had things to learn.

Great video!
A good way to reduce aggressive expansion by quite a lot is a combination of advisors and merchants that are both set as improve relations.
Frederich von Drumph sounds like an actual HRE noble or something lmao
Do it. Go for the WHOLE ROUND. Aber Ludi, we brauchen alle Kaiserschmarn Parts. Go Ludi GOOOOOOOOO
A long series would be great!
One Ludi to rule them all❤
I am doing an Austria rerun.
Time to know what stuff I did wrong.
Fun as Always
An AEIOU run series would be awesome!
burgundy often has pretender rebels and they ignore them, you should always check their union subjects
We want to see the full tree completion, lets go! :)
Burgandy into lotharingia into holy roman empire would be Pog
Definitly go for the achievement Ludi! 😁

Please give long series!
Definitely do the next part ludi. Plenty of likes given
another reason to attack hungry is to take their gold province. SInce gold is such a major boost in income especially in the early game.
This run is going really well. I want to see how much of Europe you can PU by the end. Please keep this run going!
Yes, I want to see you do an AEIOU run (or part of it at least)!
Love your videos, Ludi!!🔥
during the war with bohemia you could have made peace juste before 1st January to reduce fatser AE (you signed peace the 16th of January)
Give us the total Austrian experience!
Seen Austrian starts quite often but no Austria gameplay in the 1700s... time to activate my 8000 youtube channels
Great, hope that it can continue
please do a longer run those are educational and entertaining as well. we see what happens after the early start
some late game play would be cool to see, and finishing the mission tree would be cool too. I say go the distance with this one.
Ludi. Take prague instead of the gold mine for the IA growth!! Especially since you will take Hon and Kosovo anyways! You can revoke by 1505-1525 with it depending on rng.
First war with Bohemia: why not also take Prague for the sweet Great Project which gives you Imperial Authority?
too much aggressive expansion.
28:20 yeah bro your videos is always about early game, lets see a full breaktrough :)
Bella gerant alii, tu, felix Austria, nube!

Burgundy stays independant!!!
That what jong told. But there is something important to add to this.

kill the armies first before sieging settlements
I love starting this campaign as much as ludi does, and I've never had that happen. I wonder if it was incredible bad luck or something different.

9 hours since posting and it's over half way to 8000. Give us A.E.I.O.U.
