You're spot-on about the wall scene.
1984: Freddy through the wall was iconic and magnificently done with practical effects.
2010: Freddy through the wall was awful, truly awful. The CGI looked so inferior to the original.
Jackie Earle Haley was the best part of the movie. The micro naps could have been more of a plot point and they should have gone with the innocent line. It was never confirmed that Freddy was a molester until this movie. Him being innocent would have been so much better.
Agreed
I agree about the Freddy thing. I think they tried way too hard to humanize him. The child abuse angle should have stayed ambiguous because it made him too easy to hate. A good horror villain is as relatable as he/she is horrible or flat-out mysterious
I agree
Well said
“Alright let’s get this over with” 😂😂😂
I’ve seen this movie once all the way through when it first came out and never had the desire to seen it again. So bad
I like the darker take off Freddy but that’s about it
Nobody can play Freddy like Robert englund
Hello and thanks so much this movie review. I highly enjoyed the Nightmare on Elm Street remake and loved Jackie Earle Haley's portrayal of Freddy Krueger but still love Robert England who will always be my favorite in this role. I also like that the remake was a little darker. 🎃🎃
Glad to hear you liked it!
I almost walked out of the theater watching this lol
🤣
I agree bro this movie is nothing compared to the OG
I actually liked this movie when it came out. Yes, it was very similar to the original, but it had me wondering for a hot minute if Freddy was or was not guilty. I don't think finding him guilty was a bad takeaway at all. After the "did he/didn't he" it was kind of an "oh shit" moment. I say that if you want to talk shit about Freddy movies, talk shit about "Freddy's Dead" or "New Nightmare." At least the reboot brought Freddy to an audience who might not have seen him before.
I try not to talk about Freddy’s dead 😂🤢
🔥🔥
Rooney Mara is great in this
I’m one of the rare ones that like this movie lmao
🙌🙌
💪💪💪
This movie is the epitome of TRASH. Samuel Beyer directed a live movie for Green Day’s American Idiot tour back in ‘05, and some of the music videos for that album. Saw them during that tour funnily enough. The success of that helped him get the gig, he’s a horrible director, and nothing about the film is well done IMO. I don’t care if people like Jackie, you’re right Zach, the CHOMO angle is a NOGO lol also, what were they thinking? No one can ever play the role of Freddy aside from Robert. That’s Freddy. No one else
Well said! Englund is Freddy
@@ZenhouseStudios no doubt!
Jackie Earle Haley was the best thing about this. A shame it offered nothing original, and CGI too much.
Would of been better to make Freddy innocent of his crimes when he was alive.Could of changed it up to be commentary on mob rule, and revenge.
I agree
Yep!
It was ok movie the only thing .
I truly liked from it was when the guy
Said the line what’s matter I hadn’t
Cut u yet.only reason why I said the
Guy is cause I’ll always believe
Robert England is Freddy to me.
Why haven’t we gotten a new movie?
That’s a good question
#ReleaseTheBayerCut of A Nightmare on Elm St. 2010!
I wonder if one exists
I like what they were trying to do.... but the execution was bad
Also, nothing new about this movie. Same old stuff
I like Haley and Rooney Mara, but man this movie is awful
Don't like this movie either
It was head and shoulders above anything post dream warriors but still utterly crap.
