Since blue colour has a shorter wavelength and red colour has a longer wavelength, the red colour is able to reach our eyes after the atmospheric scattering of light. Therefore, the Sun appears reddish early in the morning.

The white light coming from sun passes through thick layers of air and covers a larger distance in the earth's atmosphere before reaching to the observer. During this more scattering of blue light and shorter wavelengths take place . Hence, the red light reaches to the observer and sky appears reddish.
Since the color red has the highest wavelength of all colours it gets scattered the least. So red light is used as a danger signal as it is able to travel the longest distance through the fog, rain, etc.
