- (WDIV) City leaders in Hamtramck, Michigan have banned the gay pride flag from flying on city property in Hamtramck, Michigan. No religious, ethnic, political, racial, sexual orientation flags allowed.

This is wise legislation on public domain! Having only official city, state, and bonafide American flags on public property makes it clear that ALL flags that are not government flags banned have nothing to do with conflict of interest (separation of church and state as well as all other unofficial flags as is precedent from Supreme Court doctrine).
On a city hall or a government building, there should be only 3 flags. US, State, and City logo (if any) flags. Not only a gay flag, there should be no religious flag and state religion either.
The only religion that could protect U.S from insanity.

Nothing is to say that people couldn't walk around with whatever flag they want on public property, on their clothing, handing out flyers for whatever group they support, or having whatever flag they want displayed on their own property. This is only about about what is physically constructed on city property, because if it's opened up to one group it has to be opened up to all. There's certainly a good argument to be made that the only flags constructed on city property should to be official governmental flags, unless it's for something like a museum or cultural center. People are free to have whatever flags on their person on that property as long as they aren't intimidating/blocking someone from freely walking on a sidewalk, etc.. People these days need to get a grip, take a deep breath, and understand nuance.
