This cake came out tasty but on the dry side for me. Does yours come out moist? If so how do you do it? And I would call this cake a coconut almond cake. Because even with that small about of extract the whole cake tasted strongly of almond
I totally agree, I am from Russia and our cakes are European. American cakes can be too dense and waaaay too sweet and overly frosted . Will def try your recipe 😊

I don’t know where I went wrong but I had a crap ton of frosting left over! like enough for another 9” cake! do you use up all of it? Maybe fact that I didn’t wait for cake to fully cool off had something to do with it and made the frosting too easy to spread, idk. But a lot of it went to waste. You don’t cut the dough in half and put frosting there too do you?
My mouth is salivating and it looks beautiful. I would love to see your Sacher Torte recipe. I am of German descent and when my mom died 8 yrs. ago, I realized she did not write down all her recipes, much to my dismay. How many hours overnight were the butter, eggs and cream cheese left out on the counter? I'm just a little nervous of the butter breeding bacteria unrefrigerated for too long. Just curious, and obviously you haven't had a problem. German's love to bake!
Even as an American I’ve always preferred homemade cakes to store bought 😂 definitely typically artificial-tasting (tried a berry one from Sweet Lady Jane in LA that was actually pretty good though). This looks so good Monica! May attempt it for Mother’s Day!
