That was a magnificent Tori Gate! Massive! 😮 As for your cherry blossoms posts, I love them all. I love the daytime Sakura walks, the nighttime Sakura excursions, and Sakura snacks, anything and everything Sakura... I am here for it. Once the Sakura has emerged from its winter slumber, it is only right for us to come out and admire the blossom in person. Thank you, John, for always being in tune with Japanese nature, and sharing it with us.
Please tell them that they should never touch the branches of cherry trees and that it is outrageous to break them. It is common knowledge among Japanese that cherry trees are weak and will die if just one branch is broken. The most frightening thing now is that foreigners do not know this and break it here and there and let it die. I really don't know what they will do. It was on the news the other day that the streets of Tokyo have become littered with trash because of the increase in tourists.
Some of the blossoms here in the UK showed up a couple of weeks ago but the very changeable weather killed them off quickly as temps dropped back into single figures 😢
Thank you, John. We are staying at the Imperial Hotel for another day before going back to New York. This information is timely for us. We hope to enjoy the cherry blossoms tomorrow.😊
Thank u for this vidéo. We're going back to Canada tomorrow & we were kind of disappointed at the late blooming. We saw Sakura street Shibuya and Ueno park. But this was magical😍 So thank you. If u know some other place we should see before tomorrow night feel free to let me know🙈😄
Hey, John! I've been watching Shogun, and would love more historical context on the show. I'd love to watch you do a recap/retelling of each episode from a historical standpoint.
Hi John! What a beautiful day and the Sakura trees are really beautiful. Would you consider doing a night time walk at Ueno Park or another well lit area showing the Sakura trees?
Missed u last sunday as my mistake was not to get on the station nearest to the sumida park where u go 😢 but i was able to get a copy of Matts book Pure Invention and that is an adventure itself. I am in Osaka now and I hope i can have drinks with u and Matt next time 😊
Thanks John! Did not know about this spot! And so true, it is so hard to figure out just how many layers! to wear! One day its one, the next day its three!! 😂 we moved here from Oz, we wore shorts everyday! Haha
Greetings John Daub, I am having an issue with white cherry blossoms being promoted and idolized over all other blossoms blooming this time of year. It sounds conspiratorially as all vegetation should be seen in the same light and not one over the other. I have study the history of various cultures and as such, I understand these type of outcomes. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks John for the season change view of the Sakura trees. Winter is over. Yoyogi might have dressed up "Barbies". Cheers to Kanae and Leo.
I've heard Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden is fully in bloom now...looks gorgeous!

Good idea! Singal not very good there but I’ll see what I can do. This season is not good in Tokyo. It’ll be just one day - Saturday. Rain on Sunday.

Quite a few blooms over at the Sumida River walk area today. The weather is a bit brisk, but shorts and a T-shirt are good for me in this weather. 😂
