@@bv122 yeah a simple wad of TP wetted and fashioned into a tip can be jammed into the ears and they'll dry up(eventually, but they don't need to dry) and they'll stay put and block plenty of noise. But.... I can almost guarantee there were earplugs somewhere on the wall in the shop, he just didn't think to look or ask anyone else about where they were lol 😅
i'm at 15% hearing loss on both sides from standing near a 767B warming up in a pit garage. about 5m away. TEN YEARS AGO. it's still there. But like this one, what a glorious way to go deaf.
funny I saw one at a the Adelaide motorsport festival and it was a lot quieter than I was led to believe but maybe it was made quieter to be allowed into certain events
I'm born with a condition that is degenerative to my ears and yet I can hear bass and loud cars but can't hear the middle and high note as it known as Severe Ski Slope. It not the end of the world if you or Anyone loses an ear or two there is cochlear implant and hearing aids that comes to the rescue
@@SkilledApe they were at the same event , it was a pre-masters legends group c historics at spa. The C9-c11 were loud, but more heavy bass. You felt the thump and whistle of turbo’s. The rotary is just ear-splitting high pitch. There is/ used to be a 105db noise warning mic on the start gantry at spa, which was about ten garages up pit road from where i was standing. It lit up with passing cars, but warming that mazda up in the pit box, it didn’t turn off again until the car left The endurance pits up radillion. What a noise.

I concur man. The 599XX is my preference over the FXX also. The FXX is sick but the side profile proportions are all wrong due to the additional aero imo.

When I installed a new catalytic converter on my Miata many years ago, I did the obligatory open exhaust startup just for shits and giggles. I was not prepared for just how chest thumpingly loud an unmuffled 1.6L 4-cylinder would be. I cannot even being to imagine the noise in person from this massive V12, especially as you're only a meter away from one of exhaust exits. There's no way I could even stand anywhere near this paddock with that racket, even if I do love the V12 tone.

No car or any experience is worth permanent hearing damage. That's why I carry plugs attached to my keychain at all times, you never know when you need them & I still prefer to enjoy music & conversations when I'm 50+

I remember this car being so broken in Forza horizon 4 as it was able to go 520 km/h when the back wheels submerge themselves inside the ground because of the sheer downforce the car produced
There is also big difference in sound filtration depending on the helmet. Very light racing helmets can stop less db than normal ones. I had to buy a 40db filtering shoei to filter out the induction noises of my Ariel atom. Completely not drivable without hearing protection, for the intake ffs
I worked in industrial hygiene (Power generation.) Also, I virtually have total loss from one ear. So, I know. Hearing loss from excessive noise _never_ comes back. So, protect it. Treasure it. Wish all the best to Misha, but NEVER repeat what he did to his ears. Wear adequate hearing protection at ALL times.
Ferrari V12s sounds are literally ridicolous. The most glorious and PURE engine notes you can ever hear. Fantastic. Real italian "capolavoro da maestri, i re dei motori".

For those of you saying cowboy the hell up Misha, let me tell you a little something about chronic and pervasive Tinnitus. My father was a Police Officer for 30 years here in the Lone Star State of Texas. Most Cops don't get paid much, the average will settle around 35-40k a year. So my father like most Cops had what they "extra job". My fathers extra job was working as armed Police security for the local drag strip in Baytown Texas. Almost every weekend I would go and sit in the stands and watch whatever was happening at the track that weekend while my father worked in the pits and starting lanes. Top Fuel car threw a belt and lacerated his stomach one time requiring surgery but that's another story. After a childhood spent hunting sport shooting, heavy metal concerts and track events every weekend, at age 35 im loosing my hearing. All of a sudden a phone will ring but there's no phone around. All of a sudden my right ear will start a high pitch whine for no reason. I have to have 2 fans and a noise maker going at night to fall asleep because without it my ears ring so loudly its like torture. Please take it from me, wear earplugs ALL of the time if there's even remotely loud noise going on for more than a few seconds. Well, except for Metal concert gigs, and your odd lap of the ring with a XX. Then dare I say its totally worth it!

If you don't have earplugs remember you can always stuff some paper tissues in your ears to dampen the high frequencies. Saved my ears multiple times this way

tbf looked like he had the helmet on that came with the car which probably has some extra sound insulation, so just with that helmet.
A black FXX is peak Ferrari IMO. One of if not the greatest sounding car ever
599 is an underrated platform imo. The GTO is my all time favourite Ferrari looks and sounds so good, the XX platform is just a different level

599XX had a sub 7 minute lap at the Nordschleife.

@@bigpotato7804 OK, I checked my October 2010 issue of FORZA magazine,and there is on the cover, a white, #2 Ferrari 599XX. Inside, the title of its article is” Heavy Metal”! And, Misha did not mention that the 599Xx imploys an active “Actiflow” system that sucks the air from underneath the car and routes it out through the center of the taillights. The concept is borrowed from the Chaparral 2-J, the “Sucker Car”, Jim Hall’s last CanAm race car. I saw the Chaparral 2 first at Laguna Seca in October 1963. And, when Jim Hall and his Chaparrals were the featured marque, I got his signature on a large photograph that I took when I was in the pits in 1965

The F-1 transmission shifts in just 60 milliseconds. Another aerodynamic system, called “Actiflow” sucks air from under the car and routes it out through the taillights. Just 30 599FXX cars were built. I know a lot about Ferraris, and this track focused car is my favorite.

Hope your hearing's okay. Too many people don't protect it and find out in their late 40's how bad it affected them.
That being said, in the video, it was like hearing an opera singer perform.
