Thanks for this information. Yes, recovering people pleaser, learned be kind to myself & others. Saying'no' and being okay with it has been a learning process.

I love that exercise. Capture all the questions Jesus asked and how he used them. Thank you for the ministry. I'm blessed.

Wonderful program and timing! The Lord has been dealing with me regarding being more concerned with what others think of me than what He thinks of me.

This is definitely one of my biggest flaws ; and I feel like looking back, and I realize as a highly skilled, highly technical IT entrepreneur; that it's not only bad to be a people pleaser in terms of saying yes, but the mention of opportunity cost really hit me hard. I thought - how many times have I said Yes, and maybe too many Yes's at a time. It's been 25 years of Yes's and overwhelming situations - to the point that not only do I now realize that I had lost myself so many times over that I became the work-product itself that I represented. I was no longer a person; but rather the culmination of all the work-product that I had done is what I had become as a person.
My business partner recently pointed out something similar - to the point I was saying "Yes we can do that" (knowing that it's possible but it would put extra work on me - in some ways in my mind "Not a big deal...") and he was actually helping me by taking those decisions from me and instead saying to client "No we can't do that, that doesn't include that kind of thing.". And this interview made me realize it was my "People Pleasing" that was overwhelming me and possibly even losing our company money.
Can't wait to get the book and I'm very excited to read it - but this video (P1 and P2) were one of the most important 50 minutes in my adult life so far.

Saying yes to helping out I’ve found that I really don’t wanna but I’ll do it because I don’t wanna disappoint the lord.
Saying No to a relationship since I’ve been single for a long time has me again not wanting to disappoint the lord.
There are many times I’ve rushed into saying yes and gotten myself into trouble.
Then when I say No I feel guilty.
Struggling with the yes and No but trying to think before I do! 🙄

What if you say no because you're worried you'll mess up and that would look bad?

And one thing I carry in my heart is my confidence is in the Lord. He will direct my steps and make my path straight. Hold your head high because he made you perfectly imperfect!

Pastors people please, yes sometimes they do from a sincere heart, but pastors can get in the pattern to people please, and can get a bit lost in who they are…
