Have a 2006 Heritage Classic FI and absolutely love it. One of my favorite bikes I have ever ridden. The best way to describe it is that it feels like an extension of yourself while riding. So comfortable, the only two complaints I can even think of is; 1) I wish it had a 6 gear transmission/gearbox....always want to shift to 6th gear when on the open highway (but not a huge deal) and 2) if you ride aggressively in a turn or curve, you can easily drag your floorboards. I’ve ridden sport bikes for years (my last bike was a 2010 Honda CBR 1000rr) before test riding this beauty and I never turned back. I plan on keeping mine forever, classic style and sounds absolutely amazing!
Been following this channel for years and learned a lot from your videos. Just bought a beautiful 1997 FLST SPECIAL (Heritage Softail) with 16k original miles and already love it. Put 100 miles on it the first day I owned it. Thanks for all the bike reviews...
I don't know if it's the "BEST" mostly cause I haven't seen them ALL, but it's definitely pretty damn sweet. Mine is anyway. I have a 2001 Heritage Softail Classic. Black and lots and lots of Chrome.
my dad left me his 01 heritage so ive been watching all your videos about this bike and i didnt even realise this bike was so sought after, especially mine bc it has the screaming eagle kit and a hypercharger w all chrome dual exhaust
I have a 2005 heritage...👍 you guys are the best even though I didn't buy my bike from you I tell everybody I know if they want a good deal go to srkcycles
I got 58k on my way 2000 Heritage. Just did the cam chain tensioner work. I sold off my 2016 limited I bought new...no soul compared to my twin cam, carbed, twin cam 88.
I have a 1999 Heritage - last of the 1340 Evo's. Absolutely love it, it's smooth and easy to ride, looks cool as hell, turns heads and sounds incredible. Old school style at it's best and I'll never sell it.
I would think so but your question would be better answered on SDHCOA group on Facebook it’s for softail owners 20,000 plus members strong, I’m running a 18” mammoth spoke rear wheel in the back so my dimensions are gonna be a little different than yours.
Heritage is the best handling bike HD ever made. One problem, it sucks in tight curves in the mountains. Too low and it will drag bad in tight turns. I had a 1994 Heritage and now I ride a 2010 Heritage. As far as the windshield, you will want one when you get caught in a good rain storm.
YES it does have cruise control. If you will look under the throttle by the cable lines, you will see a thumb wheel. I can barely see the edge of it in the video. At least, t hat's what I think I see. Anyway, if you turn that thumb wheel towards you with your Index finger, it will lock the throttle in it's current position, allowing you to take your hand away with out losing speed. When you want to release the throttle, just turn the thumb wheel with your thumb, and "Bob's your Uncle"
Im taking over my dad's heritage (1997) as it's getting too heavy for him in his old days and I am super stoked to start riding it. I own a honda shadow now, but there is just something about the feeling of a Harley Davidson
I just bought my first sportster off my BFF and love it. Why insult sportsters, it is just ny size. Still have my honda VTX, been riding a honda for a very long time. But this sportster I love it great bike.
Sporties got a bad rep, but they're Harley's longest production bikes to be fair. I rode my buddy's 883, after coming off a vt1100, and I was still shaking after 10 mins. Still got my Shadow, and a Softail Night Train. No vibes on either 😁.
Old guy like me who had drum brakes front and rear didn't get in the habit of using the front brake since it's only good to hold you on hill specially in the rain.
Have a 22 heritage just made a year old, 10,000 miles so far , would have had plenty more but I share it with my 17 deluxe that just broke 60,000 miles and no problems, treat them right and they'll treat you right.
I have an 03 Heritage Softail Classic and just did a 1400 mile trip with no hiccups whatsoever, she has the 88B engine in her and she screams when u want her to but she’s a cruiser and that’s what I use her for,I highly recommend a Softail to anyone looking for an amazing bike,Ride Safe my Brothers and Sisters 🏍🏍
I ride a 16’ Classic Heritage Softtail. Twin cam w/103 High Output. My windshield pops on or off. I sure enjoy the cool summer breeze blowing through my hair!! Lol
You should be using the rear brake more than the front brake. The rear brake is what allows you to slow maneuver and in a bad situation the rear brake and downshifting will allow you to slow faster and more controlled in many situations.
I disagree. All of you stopping power comes from the front brakes. In my experience the rear brakes on any bike I've ever rode wasn't very impressive. Maybe you riding a scooter
Just bought a 2011 Heritage about 2 months ago. Sold my 2002 Ultra. Ya or nay??? Needed a lower lighter bike, due to medical reasons. I've put about 50 miles on it, and stripped it down for solo riding, my wife rides a soloed 06 Deluxe so no need for a passenger seat. Getting ready for riding season then I blew out my Knee , not from the bike. Sucks cause the weather is finally warming up and can't ride now. Hopefully I will be riding within a month after surgery. Riding season isn't very long here in North Dakota.. Keep your knees in the breeze and be safe. God bless ya
I am sorry to say I own a 2018 soft tail with the 107 engine. Been nothing but headaches since I got it. 400 miles and the rear brakes blew out. 2700 miles the oil light came on for a possible glitch in the sensors. 2800 miles and back in the shop for brake issues again. I get a round around from the dealership and a headache from the factory. Does the word “lemon” come to mine!
I AGREE "LEMON" !! Same thing I'm dealing with!! Bought 2018 Heritage 107 new off showroom floor to avoid potential costly repairs from a used bike- I've had mine in 4 times for same issue - oil from breather all over side of bike and saddlebag. Dealer tells me it's this, it's that, puts bandaids on and sends me on my way- now 2yr warranty is up- It's at 12,000 miles- I still owe $17,000 -bike vibrates, oil blows all over my bike, it never wants to go into neutral amongst other clutch issues, and I can't get an honest answer as to why this is happening to a BRAND NEW HD!!! Sept 2020: So my bike wouldn’t start and I’m a 1000 miles from my dealer- had it picked up and transported to H-D dealer in OH- they diagnose bike; needed new battery and continued to check noise/vibration issue I was having- Come to find out belt tension was too tight which created premature bearing failure therefore my rear wheel had an inch of play- My H-D dealer back home in FL apparently should’ve checked this during any one of my service checks (1000mi) (5000mi) etc - Never were remarks recorded that a belt adjustment was made - So how did the belt tighten itself??? $1300 out of “my” pocket for their negligence but at least I didn’t eat pavement!! 🙏
I love to see the Heritage gettin some love!! I can't fault my 2017 Heritage for anything. They are so enjoyable to do the maintenance, they're comfortable enough to ride alllllll day long on.
Hey dude, I have a 95 1200, doesnt leak a single drop of oil, and I do care. I am eyeballing a 93 heritage as a highway bike. 55,000 miles. The miles don't scare me.
Yeah,if I need to stop faster I’ll use my rear break just to prevent locking up the front.I have an older 96 so it doesn’t have abs so I’m pretty cautious of this
The name and the look are literally the only thing this bike has in common with the current Heritage. I don’t think any parts are the same.....very few if any.
No, the new heritage has lost its soul. The modern headlights on the new ones look like if someone where to put LED projector headlights on a Chevelle. You just don't do that.
@@Jisstifer83626 The leds look odd to me also but that’s the way everything is going, and they are way better if you actually want to see at night. I think after awhile they will look normal to me. I think they look way better than the projector leds on the touring models
Rode a Softail (2015, 18K miles) recently...hated it. Heavy, ungainly, uncomfortable forward controls...and no highway pegs. Also not a fan of spoked wheels and what looked like tube tires.
Love my ‘04 Softail just wish it had a lil more kick but I wouldn’t trade it for any other ride. Picked her up in ‘19 with only 9k miles can you believe that??? Unheard of
My 88 flstc w 118,000 mi is a 2 finger braker, also ,DYK you can put up to a 2003 motor and a 6 speed tranny in an 86 To 2003 heritage although the blockhead is a more reliable motor , after 99 they started having to use Chinese parts.(wich I refuse to abide)

Although Sean is great at these test rides it really irks me when I see him, or anyone get on a motorcycle wearing shorts etc. Dress for the slide AND the ride.
Depends on brand. Harley engines are good for anywhere from 60,000-80,000 miles depending on what engine it is and how it's mantained and ridden. Japanese bike engines (Yamaha, Suzuki, etc) are rated for well over 100,000 miles. If you want reliability, go for a yamaha

Thanks bro, after watching this you convinced me to buy my 2010 Heritage, absolutely love it, so easy to put windscreen and bags on for those long rides
I got my dads 1998 Harley Davidson FLHSTC in Red/Black & Chrome with the Black Leather Bags. I am Sooooooo blessed!!! When I got my savings together for a Kindasucki Vulcan, we found a 1998 95th Anniversary Electraglide that dad wanted, so I got his old HD Heritage Softail Classic for the same price I was going to pay for my Vulcan😮😮😮!!!!
I own a 2000 FLSTC bought it new and it has been a great ride. I will be going through it this winter doing overdo maintenance and cosmetic work on it. It is the 'Old School' type of Harley IMHO. I have 105,000 miles on my 03 softail
Thanks bro, after watching this you convinced me to buy my 2010 Heritage, absolutely love it, so easy to put windscreen and bags on for those long rides
Hey now Sportster owner here and I enjoy taking care of it no leaks
Lol
Dude nothing wrong with a windscreen, but then I'm a 70 year old biker and got tired of picking the bugs out of my teeth.
Shawn. Absolutely love watching your videos. Thank you for what you are doin. Hopefully soon I will be doin some business with you.
Just bought a 2018 Heritage with the M8 114. Love how it handles and looks and sounds awesome.
