It’s about a girlfriend wanting to commit suicide. She called the suicide hotline but they hung up. She was later would dead. The sounds that sound like banging are meant to represent gunshots. Jack is a truly amazing yet grim artist.
I remember calling the hotline. I was having a breakdown and called them. They put me on hold, I don't remember how long, all I remember was thinking that not even the sUicide prevention hotline wanted me to live. I ended up hanging up and locking myself in the bathroom until someone got home. It's horrible that the sUicide hotline puts people on hold. That either says something about the hotline or about humanity as a whole Edit: hi! For anyone wondering, yes I have gotten better over the last year. Things are looking up for me! I have a car, I'm looking for a good job to put my technical degree to use, hopefully in the near future I'll be looking for a place of my own! I made it to 18 which is something I am very proud of, I never throught I'd make it to 16. Thank you all for the kind words, the jokes, and even the people who were either netural or rude to me. Its just nice knowing that even if someone was blaming me or insulting me, they still heard me. I haven't SH, I've never had to call the hotline again, and I'm just getting better mentally. Thank you all so much!
Yeah this is terrible, I feel like they should have more people working because if they have to put you on hold that’s terrible. But also the fact that there are so many people calling because they are going to commit sUicide is terrible. I wish you happy days and hope you never feel the need to call them again, and if you do that they will not put you on hold.
Its so sad. At first i was like: “ thats fucked up. A suicidal prevention hotline putting people on hold?” But then i realized theres always a reason. The saddest reason alive, so many people wanting to end their lives. Fly high to the unfortunate souls that ended up committing. Good luck, and have an amazing life to those who are considering. Live a happy life, live the most you can. You dont live forever..
It’s not even a suicide hotline when they just put you on hold and don’t prevent a death like what happened to many people calling? Just get more people or stop because your doing nothing other people should atleast try working
Basically, his girlfriend was suicidal and she called a suicide hotline to help her. They ended up putting her on hold and she killed herself when they did. When she was alive, she liked to collect quarters explaining the lyrics “hoarder of quarters” Edit: bro stop fighting I just heard this from a close friend 😭😭😭
if you also noticed, before the second verse, right after the chorus, he very faintly goes “ uh no, i’ll try again though.” very sad considering that could be a way of saying that they have kept this person on hold for way to long or even hung up, and they decide to try again.
When me and my (old)friends got our school ID cards, there was the suicide prevention hotline number on the back. I pointed it out since none of them had seemed to notice. One of my friends told me “don’t even call them, they put you on hold for almost an hour” when I asked her how she knew that, she got quiet. It’s really horrible how the people that are supposed to help you in that situation just put you on hold. Edit: please don’t fight in the replies. Stay safe
@@somerandomnerd331 they could’ve never answered and so friend might’ve hung up. And also, being put on hold could be someone’s last straw. It’s not a good thing
@@somerandomnerd331 she is dead, being put on hold didn't fixed anything, search up "Hoarder of quarters incident", she killed herself right after they hung up.
As a HUGE Jack Stauber fan, this is my explanation to those who dont know. It's not really about love or a girlfriend. It's about a loved one, yes, but she tried calling the su1c1de hotline and they left her on hold like you heard in the full verison 'hung up and put on hold' and it might even be a refrence of n00s3 c0mm1t1ng. It's about a woman who used to go outside and collect quarters and talk about them with Jack (jack representing the relative). 'Someday I will go back outside and see her okay' because she would be outside on a daily collecting quarters like I said. He is processing the loss of her. 'Please hold me close to you' referring to the loved one. Possibly not a girlfriend. Possibly his sister or mother. 'Baby flat line' flat lines occur when someone's heart stops and they d1e. 'I insist somebody will d1e' he knew she would c0mm1t. 'Wishing that the pills let you cry' may refer to 0verd0s3 based su1c1d3. There is my explanation. None of that 'she cheated on him' nonsense please, its deeper than that.
Really scary story: While the official meaning and story of the song has not been confirmed by Jack, the most popular theory about Baby Hotline from most fans is that the song is about a woman calling the suicide hotline, specifically from a payphone, with "baby hotline" being a metaphor for said hotline.
what makes it even more sad is the fact that at the end of the song for like 10 secs its just a phone ringing, which shows that jack staubers wife was actually calling and calling the hotline again
I feel so bad for Jack and having to go through that kind of loss. Suicide is horrible, and when people who love you find out that you’ve died it’s worse. To anyone out there having thoughts of it, please don’t. There are plenty of people out there that love you, and even if you don’t think so, everything will be ok. ❤❤
Guys can yall quit hating like it’s not that hard if ur gonna hate sm just stop all she did was make a vid and ppl commented how cute/pretty she was and yall saying “cap, stop lying” and other stuff what if this was u and ppl were hating on u? Or if u looked ugly would u care ? Or not I’m pretty sure yall will say u don’t just or act cool when u probably do
For those who don’t know ‘ baby hotline ‘ is about his girl friend trying to commit suicide and she called ‘baby hotline’ they will tell you not commit suicide but they put her on hold and she killed herself while on hold….. -EDIT-NOT TRYING TO BE THAT PERSON BUT THX FOR LIKES OMG😩😩 Edit: fancy meeting you here
Explanation: The song is describing the story of a man and his wife, and his wife is suicidal but scared to do it. “Baby Hotline” refers to the man telling his wife to call the suicide hotline, “Hoarder of Quarters” is the quarters needed to put in a pay phone, she is hoarding them because the suicide hotline won’t pick up so she needs a lot of quarters to keep trying, “No boundary boredom” means that she is restricting herself from what she can achieve because she has set low goals for herself, meaning she can do more with her life than what she is actually doing, but she doesn’t believe in herself, so she isn’t trying, “I insist somebody will die and I hate hoping” means that he knows his wife will most likely commit suicide, and he hates thinking about when it will happen. “I contend that your drinking eye has never opened” refers to the fact that the depression makes her drink more and she blacks out often. By the time the suicide hotline finally calls back, she has already committed suicide. This is why you hear a gunshot after every verse, and also why at the end he says “One day I will go back outside and see her okay” meaning that this song takes place after his wife has committed suicide. (Gimme some likes for the effort)
@@Ftrave521 Ok, so lemme get this straight, clearly the man and woman have some sort of friendship (or else why would he even talk about it or tell her to call the hotline) he also calls her baby, now you might be a weirdo, but I don’t call my female FRIENDS baby, but that might just be me. But yeah next time keep your opinion bubbled up.
For those who don’t know:this song was made 568 years ago and now this guy is still alive this man is an alien he makes dark songs I know they seem cute and cuddly until u really listen to them and his eyes are pitch black……this gave me the chills so I did research and this song was not made 564 years ago and this song has the lyrics of I hope I will walk outside and see her ok………….
For ppl who don’t know what they mean basically the song “baby hotline” is about a girl who calls 988 (suicidal number) and she uses quarters every time she calls so when she’s walking she picks up quarters to call the hotline and the hotline puts her on hold because they decided to eat smth and the girl kept on calling them with her quarters but they putting her on hold and when they finally finish having their snack they try calling her but she already k!lled herself, and the lines “someday i will go back outside and see her okay” means that they go outside each day and hope they see her okay (this is not mine but hope it helps 😊)
This song Is about a girl who was on the verge of commiting suicide, she tried calling the suicide prevention hotline, but they left her on hold. And by the time they tried calling her back, she has already killed herself. And at the end u hear “someday I will go back outside and see her ok” this Is because she used to collect quarters, and he wishes to go outside and see her collecting more quarters.
oh yea, and the person that answered was super new and didn't know what to do, like you would think they gave them more practice, its a persons life you're dealing with
I used to volunteer with the suicide prevention lifeline. Most nights it was me and one other person in a call center servicing 40 counties. The basic math of the situation requires that some people end up on hold, waiting their turn in the queue for someone to talk to. Its not uncommon for multiple callers to pile up and some of them end up hanging up before we could get to them. That said you always try your best everyday to help as many people as you can with the sparse resources you have available to you.
Seriously, I'm from japan. Yes our songs are like, freaky weird, yet cheerful sounding, but not all of them are like that...I suggest you actually search up the lyrics to a sad tuned song, it's more than likely a song about romance or something related to a person's core emotion
@@Makten14 indeed, once I heard the news I was like... "Then the song was irrelevant if that was the story behind it, it would rather be sad than groovy and an absolute banger
The Song: 🤭🥰😍🤩 The meaning: 😵💔💀🔪 Edit: Can yall stop attacking me? I don't mean romantic, and idk if the su!c!de thing is true. And plus, ik it sounds like a weirdcore song, but just stop attacking me for a dang comment.
I think he was using the weird stuff to represent what was going on cuz the whole point of the phone was cuz everyone hung up the phone when his girlfriend was gonna kill herself and tried to call people to say bye
At 12 I started having suicidal thoughts, luckily my fear of blood has prevented me from doing anything but I remember trying to jump off from a window and my mother stopping me (also other various failed attempts), it was only at 17 that I got a diagnosis for depression and finally got he help I needed. Not everyone can wait this long, as the weight on one's shoulders is different for everyone and sometimes only minutes determine a person's fate.
@@Melikesleep1I was very lucky, hd to pester my parents (they didn’t believe in mental illnesses before this), but then were very supportive and helped me a lot. Still, those who see that something is wrong should act as soon as possible. Well, this applies to any situation, though.
I tried to drown myself so many times as a kid but kept stopping when everything started feeling surreal and not painful that I just got better lung capacity hahaha
I was also suicidal at 12. I was put into a mental hospital for attempting and they would often emotionally abuse the patients. I remember the fitness "teacher" bullying an 8 year old because she was overweight but she told me she tried to k!ll herself at 8 because her family body shamed her (she was so sweet) and that was pretty traumatizing because they would yell at you for extremely little things. 💔
The fact that people put real emotions into their songs and people just sing them without listening to the lyrics. That really does get me, small and less popular artists have the best songs and are actually worth it. And mostly this song gets to me because people think it’s a weird person singing a weird song, but it’s about Jacks girlfriend that was going to k*ll herself. Love you guys and have a good day.
It’s not about jacks girlfriend but a suicide incident that happened in 2016 when a girl called a hotline and was hung up on or out on hold (i forgot which one) and by the time they called her back she had killed herself, she also like to collect quarters off the street as it says in the line ‘hoarder of quarters’. Which is why Jack says about seeing her outside okay and collecting quarters
Pretty sure it's a homeless girl think that called the su!cide hotline and they put on hold but she had already comm!ted when they got back to her, and the hoarder of quarters and ill see you outside okay is she loved to collect quarters and jack wishes to see her outside just collecting quarters all okay again.
Yall got this kinda right. So basically jacks wife was going to commit suicide, the line "Baby hotline please hold me close to you" means shes called the suicide hotline but theh out her on hold. The line "Baby flatline" means that she was once again going to kill herself, for those who dont know a flatline means the person is dead. The line "shes a hoarder of quarters" means she always needed money because she was homeless. This is where it gets really dark. When the line says "with no boundary boredom" means she didnt listen to jack when he told her to not kill herself. This is where it gets really dark "I can see that your drinking eyes never opened" meaning she was a alcoholic and never saw herself as one. The line "i insist someone will die and i hate coping" means she insisted she is better off dead, and i hate coping is her not wanting to cope with the drinking problems. The line "pushing at the pills that you cry and i hate coping" means that jack and rehab centers or some doctors were telling her to take pills to help with the alcohol problems, but she didnt wanted to because she hated coping, but she crys because she knows how much it hurts jack. And the last line is self explanatory. Thats it.
According to the most popular interpretation, the person singing in Baby Hotline loves someone who died; he’s now trying to process the loss. Some of the lines seem to refer to the dead person’s issues in life. The “baby hotline” symbolizes a connection that the singer keeps attempting to stay in contact with the loved one, but it doesn’t seem to work, and at some point, the protagonist will need to accept it.
@@RaptorKingits the most popular interpretation of the song. It may not be his interpretation. I love your comment tho. Edit: Im stupid. Its a popular interpretation somewhat. But I am absolutely stupid forget what I said.
For those who dont know, the song is based on a girl who was depressed with suacidal thoughts, and called a suicide prevention hotline, but they hung up on her. Then after that the woman sadly took her life. The line hoarder of quarters might confuse some people born after 2010 but the line hoarder of quarters so back in the day, old payphones used to take quarters so the line hoarder of quarters shows that she collected so many quarters to call the hotline and the line "someday I'll go back outside and see her okay" shows that the guy wants to go back and see her collecting quarters outside but the hotline kept on hanging up on her. Hope this helps!
when I heard the song it was but a insignificant meme now I found this short and realize in the comments it was about a girl that was put on hold. The number was a suicide help line, she was on hold for an hour and by then she had already killed herself.
So basically some girl called the suicide hotline unfortunately the person who answered was not very good at dealing with suicidal people. He put her on hold for 20 minutes and she shot herself after
Wow… never knew the meaning till I read the comments. Condolences to that poor girl, and whoever else suffer from suicidal thoughts. I can’t tell you it’ll get better, but I’m so sorry for what everyone’s going through. God bless you all.
Ppl who don’t know: the song is based off a depressed woman who called 911 as a suicide and they put her on hold for to long and then she killed herself
no, it wasn’t his girlfriend and the true meaning of the song has not been revealed. the rumors and theories are all just speculation. yeah, the theory makes sense about the song talking about a depressed woman being put on hold by the sui hotline, but it isn’t about his dead girlfriend. that’s just made up.
Top comment is a bit misleading so here’s the real answer I don’t think that it was Jack Stauber’s (the person who animated and made this song) girlfriend but a story about a woman who felt su*cidal and called su*cude prevention and nobody picked up which led to her, unfortunately ending her own life. Im glad this is popular because it spreads attention about the topic but also boosts Jack Stauber’s viewer ship. If you feel su*cidal at all, please talk to someone ❤ Edit: I said a story, it’s not real (according to the replies)
@@SpeakermanLovesGamesapparently the woman liked collecting money from the ground. I am not sure of it thought. The internet is not the most trustworthy place.
If u dont know. this song is about his girlfriend who wants to commit -suicide- and calls a -suicide- hotline called baby hotline but they never answer so she ends up -shooting- -herself-
ok so: in 2016 (i think), a girl was calling at a su*cide prevention hotline. the “hoarder of quarters” quote was meant to describe that she was collecting quarters for fun. she called there, they answered but they hung up shortly after. they recalled her, but it was too late. may she rest in peace.
1. Phones used to take quarters for you to call people. She probably got as much change as she could so she could call as much as she needed. 2. Are you sure this is a real story.
For the people who don't understand this song wad made almost when the world started beacause it was made 524 years ago making it be made in 1460 almost when the world even started. And the second one is called "deadly hotline" the explanation this person had a girlfriend that wanted no kill herself making it be suicide and she called it "hotline" this guy made a song about it, the last part when he said "one day ill go out and see she is okayyy" hes talking about his girlfriend not doing suicide and have a happy family again.
Explanation: Jack stauber's girlfriend had suicidal thoughts and was about to kill herself. She called the suicide prevention line but they put her on hold. A couple seconds after she called all of her friends that supported her and didn't want her to die. When she called them they put her on hold again. So after all this she hangs her self. Jack was completely baffled by this and he made a song about it. And as everyone knows all of his songs have meanings. And the line "Hoarder of Quarters" means she used to collect quarters. And also the line "I can tell that your drinking eyes never opened" means that she always used to drink.
Not actually, "Hoarder of Quarters" is a refrence to the old pay phones where u had to put a quarter to call saying she called the hotline a lot before she died since she is a Hoarder of Quarters. The "I can tell that your drinking eyes never opened" is a refrence to the fact for some people when they drink they start to feel even more depressed about themselves and see themselves as the worst version of themselves and end up dying BC they were drunk. He says her drinking eye hasnt opened bc despite her depression she stayed alive until that day.
I once ACTUALLY committed suicide. I came back from school after being harassed. During recess… not only that, The teachers didn’t give a fuck. I didn’t eat lunch.. when I got upstairs I gave some stuff to my sister and called my friends a couple of times, knowing it’ll be the last time I see them. And after that it was around 6:30 PM. I went into my room and grabbed a jump rope, it was the only thing I had close enough to a rope. I was 9 at the time btw. And I hung it up on this thing connected to my roof… I have no absolute idea what it’s called. And I tied it to my neck. And YK.. hung there. I regretted my choices. It really hurt, it felt like there was a lot of pressure building up in my head and throat.. like it was swelling kinda. I was struggling to breathe… like it took 1 minute for me to untie the rope but I gave up. It was too hard. I started screaming then my parents rushed into my room and helped me. I’m recovering now. I’m still a bit depressed from the situation. I have a small bruise on my neck.. but I’m fine now. Still struggling. Not too comfortable with venting but I feel like it’s about time. ❤
Bro my mom showed me this song and we both love it sm and I instantly loved it, now I can also relate to the song ☺️ Edit: guys I literally forgot I wrote this comment, I just have depression and heavy anxiety issues about death every day and I used to be heavily suicidal when I was 13 but I am not anymore like I was in 2022 and I get extreme guilt every day for how I’ve acted like such a ungrateful person and I have to live with myself because I need to for the ones I love and I’d like to for myself but I just am not there yet… im trying to start improving myself every day going into the new year but I know it will take a while so stop spamming the same comment because one, “help” is too expensive and two I don’t want it because I get along well already and I can and will survive my own way even if it’s not ‘right’, none of you know about what has happened to me so please don’t try to spam tell me
edit 1: wow guys!! thanks for 20 likes!! The beginning of the song portrays the singer wanting to call the hotline and be "close to it", but the responder does not take them seriously with them always getting a flatline and them believing the responder sees them as a "hoarder of quarters" with no "boundary boredom". They continue to be put "on hold" as their line gets "cold". However, they continue to call the hotline and get a response, as heard in spoken dialogue "No, uh, I'll try again". They eventually sing about feeling numb and burning with haste after continuously calling the hotline, and how doing so was eventually just a waste. Verse 4 eventually plays out the woman's mindset as she prepares to commit suicide where she claims she's been "dead", her thinking is "bent", and how she eventually decides to "wrap the troubles" and feels good from doing so and now she doesn't have to stay and think about "it" anymore. The outro seems to be the woman right before her suicide, repeating manically that she hates hoping before the song ends with the phone ringing out. The clapping in the background seems to also represent the end of her life in a similar fashion to how people clap at the end of movies. While the woman caller is the main character of the song, the "baby hotline" responder's perspective is portrayed in select segments of the song. Verse 2 portrays the responder's view on the suicide victim. They claim there was no flatline and only then ask what they were scared about. After the woman commits suicide and "sits by and feels the wind", they simply say they at least called her the "hoarder of quarters" with no "boundary boredom", as speculated by the woman caller earlier. Verse 3 seems to then represent the responder attempting to help the victim, such as recommending a sunbath. Eventually, they just say nevermind to their "sight" and they just run and hide from them. At the end of the song, the after the woman likely commits suicide, the phone ringing fading out seems to represent the responder attempting to call them back again after multiple failed attempts from the woman, but being too late. source:Jack Stauber wiki although I knew this -big fan of jack
Its not just a song. Its about jacks girlfriend who's depressed and su!c!dal. She wants to k!ll herself one day but she's scare to do it. So she called a su!c!de hotline but they put her on hold. By the time the people from the hotline got back on the call, she had taken her life Edit : His girlfriend was also pregnant. So when she killed herself, it killed the baby too
Oh i thought it was a homeless girl think that called the su!cide hotline and they put on hold but she had already comm!ted when they got back to her, and the hoarder of quarters and ill see you outside okay is she loved to collect quarters and jack wishes to see her outside just collecting quarters all okay again.
Backstory: back in 2016 someone’s wife loved getting quarters on the side of the road, that’s why in the song it says hoarder of quarters, she was having a very depressing day and wanted to comment suicide, so she called a suicide PREVENTION hotline, (REMEMBER SUICIDE PREVENTION HOTLINE) and they put her on hold for 20 MINUTES. Apparently the person calling wasn’t good with suicidal people, when the hotline tried to call her back, she already committed suicide. That’s why at the end it says “I wish I could go back just to see that your okay”. And yea that’s it, the story is pretty fucked up.

This.... makes more sense condolence to that person...
Really scary story:
While the official meaning and story of the song has not been confirmed by Jack, the most popular theory about Baby Hotline from most fans is that the song is about a woman calling the suicide hotline, specifically from a payphone, with "baby hotline" being a metaphor for said hotline.

@@Puppii_pawzzit was not his gf
@@Arandomguybroim tired of explaining this but here we go again this song is not about his gf

And by the time they tried calling her back, she has already killed herself. And at the end u hear “someday I will go back outside and see her ok” this Is because she used to collect quarters, and he wishes to go outside and see her collecting more quarters.

At 12 I started having suicidal thoughts, luckily my fear of blood has prevented me from doing anything but I remember trying to jump off from a window and my mother stopping me (also other various failed attempts), it was only at 17 that I got a diagnosis for depression and finally got he help I needed.

@@Melikesleep1I was very lucky, hd to pester my parents (they didn’t believe in mental illnesses before this), but then were very supportive and helped me a lot. Still, those who see that something is wrong should act as soon as possible.
Well, this applies to any situation, though.
the only thing keeping me alive from when I was seven to now is my extremely low tolerance to physical pain, so I completely understand.

"Baby hotline" symbolizes the suicide hotline that hung up on his girlfriend.

Wdym this song was made 524 years before? no that's just the creator's name

Edit: guys I literally forgot I wrote this comment, I just have depression and heavy anxiety issues about death every day and I used to be heavily suicidal when I was 13 but I am not anymore like I was in 2022 and I get extreme guilt every day for how I’ve acted like such a ungrateful person and I have to live with myself because I need to for the ones I love and I’d like to for myself but I just am not there yet… im trying to start improving myself every day going into the new year but I know it will take a while so stop spamming the same comment because one, “help” is too expensive and two I don’t want it because I get along well already and I can and will survive my own way even if it’s not ‘right’, none of you know about what has happened to me so please don’t try to spam tell me

“And I can go outside to see that your OK”
Wait the person working at the hotline wasn’t comfortable speaking to suicidal people?
