this came on autoplay while I was jamming along to some other music from Gary, fantastic video, and GREAT synth tones! thanks a lot :). the sheet music is very helpful, couldn't figure out the last bar of the b section by ear for the life of me until I saw the notation lol
@@drumshot80 Fortunately I'm fairly busy with teaching and gigging these days - but that can always change to which I'll consider the suggestion! I could definitely do something for Misunderstanding at some point. But I imagine there are probably good YT lessons for that song already out there.
hey dude i mostly play guitar and bass and drums harmonica i used write some music on piano in 90s was making a video on guitar pedal tape delay and reverb wanted show how works on synth so typed in most popular synth song that comes to head you popped up saw this looked so easy had to try it so i got my old Yamaha SY35 out of the wardrobe The SY35 is a vintage vector synthesizer just like the Prophet VS and the Korg Wavestation. your lesson was so simple i was playing it in minutes took me hrs to find 12 volt adapter for synth though hey thanks keep up the good work
That's great but how about the last part/ending where he is playing like 2 or more notes(how the song ends & fades out)? I have a P5 & a Little Phatty I get real close to it. Just would like to know what notes he plays?......
Hello! Without getting into the specific notes of the solo it sounds like for the first chord (A) he is playing/improvising in the scale of A Mixolydian (A B C# D E F# G A) and for the second chord (G) sounds to me like G Major or Ionian (G A B C D E F# G). Hope that helps and does not confuse matters. Give it a spin and LMK.
You can also think of the first scale as G Lydian (G A B C# D E F# G) then for the second chord just flatting the C# down to C for G Mixolydian. Don't you love music theory? 🎹🎹
Uhhhh..... you are really not very good at playing by ear are you??? That's ok.... not everybody is..... but my ears are screaming the last two low notes are NOT A A..... They are an octave apart!!!!! Listen really close to that part of the actual song..... you'll hear it!!!!

I'm pretty sure the A at the end of the bass section isn't repeated like that. It goes lower by a few tones.
Thanks for the feedback!
I’m very curious about the sound design!! Like, did you use a VST for this? If so, which?
Sounds are from the Korg Kross. Which sound are you curious about?
@@EricJungeMusic Mostly Vox Humana. Did you need to make the patch yourself?
@@smujohnson Pretty sure, yes!
Why not put them together at the end?
Please cover men without hats antarctica
Thanks for the suggestion. I'm not familiar with it but I will check it out.
sure Gary used a Moog.
Thanks but the bass line actually starts with D, C sharp, G, A, A, Low A. Cheers.

You didnt do the harmony at the end....... best part of the song
