the a6400 does so well in 4k simply because it is a 6k crop. In terms of bang for your buck the a6400 is pretty amazing all things considered. Obviously I own one but it will be a b-cam very soon once I grab the a7siii. You simply can't beat a purpose built piece of equipment! Awesome video man!!

Wow! At 3:40 the a6400 looks less sharp than the a7s3 when zoomed out, but when zoomed in its suddenly sharper. I wonder why? This is the comparison I have been waiting for! Absolutely nailed it mate! BTW, if you got time in your future videos, hoping to see a comparison with these 3 cameras with the sony a6400 having the sigma 16mm f1.4 and both full frame cameras having the sony 24mm f1.4 gm (only if you have those lenses that I have mentioned). Hi - how easy is it to change from video to photo on the A7S3, on my nikon the switch saves my last settings automatically so its easy and fast to move between both. Has the Sony got the same thing.

everyone that has been sent the camera has done a review on it and sent it back there is tons of content out there comparing the two already in conclusion the A7iii is a bigger version of the a7c. The a7c is better for videos given it can be put on a gimbal, you get gyro. a single faster sd card slot ( I have only had a single card slot and havn't had a card crash on me yet) new improved color science, the new BIS from the A7siii, and a faster processor to help navigating and has a much improved buffer. You also get eye tracking in video which the a7iii does not. You have the vari display. aside from the size I personally believe it is the better camera. I plan on getting it with a cage to help add to the girth to help with holding and turning it into a FX-3 with more mounting points and no 4k60/ 4k100. I hope this helped
Was hoping to see the S&Q 1080p200fps quality on the a7siii too. Apparently it's undersampled from about 800p, so was curious how it stacks up against the a7iii/a6400 1080p100fps. Great comparison nonetheless!

what would you say about the 120 fps quality between the a6400 and the a7iii? is there a big difference? as i can tell from your video i cant see a very big difference?
4k120 vs 1080p120 there's a huge difference but it's harder to tell when watching on cellphone, 1080p120 vs 1080p120 now that would be interesting too see

a6400 is downsampling from 6K vs A7Siii is pure 4k so that's why is likely a little sharper, though dynamic range, and the 8 bit make it worse overall. Not sure if most talent wants their head shots more detailed anyways though!
Love this, cause this is what nobody talks about. The a6000 line of cameras all have that fake sharpening problem in 1080. The 4K ok those cameras always look great, but whenever I have to get slomotion with one of those cameras I’m never fully happy with it cause that sharpening starts to stick out like a sore thumb after a while. It took me a long time to realize that it was a issue those cameras cause no one talks about it.
theres one thing that you didnt mention. 3:39 you can see that a7siii looks better than a6400 but when you are zoom in, it looks better the a6400 for some reason. maybe it didnt focus well.?
Well I’m in a pickle. Cuz I own the pocket 4K and the a6400 and I’m really tempted upgrade to the A7siii. For run and gun and my workflow the Siii checks the boxes. Lowlight capabilities, amazing auto focus, great battery life, great build and UI

I am looking to purchase a Mirrorless camera for sports videography and this review helped me a ton. The slow-motion comparison made the decision for me... have to go with a7siii.
I don't think you were actually in focus on the a6400 at 3:45. And you can even see focus breathing around 3:50. Even your 1080p on a6400 was sharper than the 4k which definitely proves the focus was off.
You forget talk about the massive storage you need with A7SIII videos compared with A7III and A7III. A7SIII is too expensive if you aren't in a big business of Video production with huge budget. For the rest of us A7III or A7RIII is enough for everything.
A6400 downsamples 6k to 4k without line skipping so the result is legitimately sharper. (A6400 lineskips like crazy to output 1080p though, which is why 1080p is so poor.) A7siii is real 4K but there are only enough pixels to make the 4K image so there's no downsampling, making a legit 4k image but a slightly softer one.

Not entirely correct comparison. Some Full-frame lenses on APS-C cameras is USUALLY bad. Lens testing ( ua-cam.com/users/christopherfrostabout )
