It's been nice seeing card throwing get popular in recent years. I started the hobby about 30 years ago, after I saw Ricky Jay do it in The Paul Daniels Magic Show. Bicycle seconds are a cheap and good choice for throwing. It seems that I have the same throwing technique as you do.
Cards are for: 1. Playing (of course) 2. Magic tricks (blow someones mind) 3. Making card towers with 4. Scrapping ice of your car window when its cold 5. *Self defense.* Card>gun

i pegged a kid in the head with my school id because he took my Arizona tea he now has a lined bruise on his forehead surprisingly didn't get in trouble but he did the principle was surprised i through that card almost fifty feet and hit him lucky shot then but still learning don't steal from people they may have a trick up there sleeve i now don't go anywhere without sharpened blank id cards and un sharpened ones i take to school. i ended up giving one of my teachers a small deck of banshee cards and now he is leaning to throw cards, its funny walking in his class to see like ten colorful sheets of those foam presentation boards glued together on the wall with a bunch of holes in it GREAT VIDEO !
I had noticed the mag stripe on the around the world bottle breaker on DP, assumed it was a credit card. I assume the light bulb breakers were the Banshees.
Vincent Butler the only room key card used was for the outside bottle. Inside bottle and lightbulb were Banshees. Everything else was the Chrome Kings!

Once I threw a card and it hit the ground and I spun it a lot, then it bounced up, that could help, also using a lot of power would help.
